Looking for suggestions for a all in one wifi system
Jackster posted a topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi all. First of all I need a system that I can buy within the UK. Please keep this in mind. So I use BlueIris on my of my projects but I have a new system I need to setup at an allotment. While I would like to use it again, probably wont be able to get AC power to a PC. Though there is power on site (and quite close) so might try and push for it... In the mean time, looking for an all in one system. Needs to be pretty low cost due to limited funds. We are working on getting the Uni next door to "donate" some access to their WiFi so we can access the system remotely. So half decent app and web interface, one that allows you to also download footage would be best. Spec wise, looking for 4 channels of 720p, though 1080p would be nice. NV is a must. WiFi might be an option due to where they want the cameras. If we were to Cat5 it, would require cabling underground. Some lengths reaching 100m.. Obviously there are power issues involved with that. Solar panel and battery would start to add up quickly in terms of £... I think due to the added cost of the solar panel and battery it would be Cat5 only. Anyone able to suggest something for this? Thanks -
New system for small house security 4 cams and BlueIris.

Hey all. Would love some input into this system. Had some strange stuff happen tonight where there has been no recordings for 2 hours and a static camera move from where it was set looking up the garden to being pointed down to the floor. So would love to move everything to a new system that is secured in my house. Thanks -
Blue Iris reduces the CPU load
Jackster replied to MaxIcon's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Went from 90-100% on my P4 with 2 cams to 60%. It struggled streaming to more than one web client, not have 4 running and only 70% CPU. New updates are great! -
Hello everyone. After experimenting with some cheapo China bought cameras over the last 6 months I am looking to set up a full 4 camera setup with 2 extra cameras that ill have on later. Especially as I caught a guy in my garden last week. I don't have a big budget and I am quite happy with analog above 600 lines so I am looking to get a set of 4 day/night cameras and a 4 BNC 100FPS capture card to go inside my home server. My server specs is an AMD x6 with 2GB of RAM (will upgrade to 4GB soon) as well as a 250GB HD for storage. The 250GB HD is more than enough. Only used 15GB for a week of video on 2 cameras, I don't need to store it all for a month, week will do. I will be using BlueIris for the software. I bought it a few weeks back and love it. Android app rocks and I am getting it to work on my Android TV soon So I am in need of 4 cameras and a capture card that is PCIx. So far I have found a card on eBay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-Channel-120fps-D1-Real-time-H-264-Network-3G-PCI-E-CCTV-Video-Capture-DVR-Card-/321029309117?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4abed682bd Should work fine with generic drivers I take it? As for the cameras I can't make my mind up. I have seen some $30 ones on China wholesale that are "600lines" at 510H×492V. IDK that much about the old analog, more of a digital guy but I can't afford it all. Looking at the cheap end. But not cheap that the quality is crap. Any suggestions are welcome. Though note I am in the UK and sites like Costco.com don't ship to the UK. Costco UK do and I can go to a Costco but there is no range here. Thanks

Any suggestions on a cheap tablet to monitor IPCCTV?
Jackster replied to badgcoupe's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Ainol tablets are great. I use BlueIris myself and the app for it is great and works fine on my Novo Fire. It has a 1280x800 screen and is very fast. Battery is very good but keep a USB charger near where you put it around the house to keep it topped up. It is $159 when in stock on http://www.ainol-novo.com/ainol-novo-7-fire-android-tablet-pc-dual-core-1-5ghz-wifi-hd-2160p-dual-camera-bluetooth-16gb.html They also have 10" tablets to. -
Need identification and help with remote view.

Well the DVR works very well. It does the job I need it to. But would be nice to have the web interface or at least some software that will be able to control it remotely. -

throw it away ........ its getting brought into the UK via ebay and it is not rated for UK power What do you mean by that? 12v DC is 12DC at the end of the day? -
I wanted to try out one of these DVRs you find on eBay for £45. I still use my ZM setup for my own CCTV but I bought 2 cameras for my granddad as he has had people in the back garden recently and he wanted something to record what is going on. So having a computer was not an option for him. So I wanted a all in one that could send video down to his TV and something that I could watch from my house a few miles away. So I bought this for him. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200723025281?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 The software on the included disk is crap, I was not expecting good stuff for £45 BTW I was wondering if anyone knew what system this is "brand" so I could investigate in software to manage it all. I very much know it is one of those generic things that is sold under a lot of names. Here are some high res photos of it. Thanks!

NEED HELP WITH REMOTE VIEWING SETUP
Jackster replied to darrenpang21's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Posting hardware helps a lot when trying to sort things like this out. -
mate not being funny bt 380/480 is laughable in a professional sense try playing with 700! tvl! But I am a newb at CCTV so 100 more pixels is cool. Though I am a bit of a "pro" at live media broadcasting where we do 4k stuff, and that is cool to play with.
-
Quite happy with the $20 cameras. Just going to not use this capture card though. 2FPS with 4 channels is stupid. But I got a new camera tonight to play with a whole 480 lines of pixels Much better than 380 Power wise I am going to be using a PSU from a old server. It has enough amps to cook a chicken.

Video on it's way. 2am here and using xsplit over RDC is a pain. VNC will hopefully fix it.

Buy cheap and buy often. You are simply wasting your money But I don't have £150 for a nice 4-8 channel that will record at 30fps per channel.
