    S/N Ratio meaning help

Signal to noise ratio (s/n) indicates how much "signal," or actual picture information, the camera transmits, as opposed to "noise," which comes across as static. A s/n ratio of 40db indicates that the signal is 100 times the noise, which results in an acceptable picture with some fine grain or snow. 30db results in a poor picture, and 60db produces an excellent picture with no static visible.

    Please, need your help

We need to put up a surveillance system for our business. We were looking at 4 cameras + DVR system setup but with so many brands and products on the market we got confused which one would meet our need the best. We would like to be able to monitor (remotely) and record onsite activity 24/7. Our business consists of an office, storage buildings and the open work area. All cameras will be mounted outside, two overlooking the office and storage buildings, the other two the work area. The last two are facing east and west so we are wondering if there will be problems with the sun glare. If needed we can light up the area for night monitoring. We have a budget so all system should be under $3000. These are the models we were looking at: DVR- Ganz DR4N-500 or NUVICO NVDV2-4000N Cameras- JVC 1/3" TK-C920UA High Resolution CCD Or Samsung SDC-415 Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Alex
  6. your opinion about Ganz DR4N-500 or the best dvr under 1500 thanks
