Current I have a 4 channel DVR system which I am looking to upgrade to an 8 channel DVR system. I am looking for higher quality video. This forum recommends Dahua brand DVR and cameras. Are all Qsee Dahua brand hardware inside? Hi, Which POE switch do you guys recommend? I am looking to power 5 Dahua mini dome IR cameras. I will be using this with the Dahua 16 Channel non POE NVR unit.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I guess I need an 8-channel POE switch. How many watts do I need for each cameras? I am confused as I see some switches offers 15.4w for 4 ports and 7.5w for 8 ports. If I wish to use 5-6 cameras will the 7.5w be enough power I will be using Dahua 2mp IR mini dome 1080p cameras and 1.3 IR 720p bullet cameras

I was reading reviews on different cameras from Networkcameracritics.com and noticed that each different brand IP camera has its own software? The Axis and Dahua camera both has there own web interface to control the camera settings. If I was to use those cameras with a 16 channel Dahua NVR system will I be using the software from the NVR unit to control each cameras?

Would you recommend using wireless cameras for a home NVR system? Also, do you trust the vendors that sells the NVR systems on eBay?

Hi, For a standard Dauha 16 channel NVR system. Does it matter if I use Cat 5 or Cat 6 cables to use with the 3mp, 1080p cameras? -Are there specific types of ethernet cables for outdoor use?

What are you thoughts on this Dahua NVR unit from eBay? I know many users here on the forum does not recommend purchasing the units from ebay and Dahua will not suppor the hardware as well. But what if I don't require the support? Hi, I've been browsing around this forum and gathered some good information. I am ready to upgrade my current DVR surveillance to something better quality. My current setup is an Aposonic DVR with 4 channels. The cameras I am using are lower quality and I think they are 420 tvl. Recently I had someone steal a package from my home but I could not make the the details of the person. I would like to upgrade to something better. I've heard good things about Dahua DVR? Below is a list of my budget, and things I would like for my setup. $700-$900 DVR with 8 channels higher quality camera for both day and night Audio is not required Wired setup or both options for wired and wireless 1TB Apple Mac, iPhone and iPad compatible What's the difference between IP analog surveillance? I was browsing a website that sells both setup and the resolution for the IP cameras are much higher? Does that mean IP cameras are better in quality?
