    problems getting dns to work

Thanks for your reply I did rather think this might be the answer athough I thought there might be a way round it, Bt claim there router is not blocking ports but I think it is as allways it says ip inaccessable and the ip on the router does change nearly everey day where on my cable connection it remains the same for many days. I will try what you have said with bt but I would still like to use my dynds service.
  2. Hi I have fitted a avtec 264 h dvr I have set up a dynds account they have sent me a line and using eagle eyes I have tried to make contact with my dvr but all I get is ip not accessable. In network on the dvr in DDNS setting I have written a host name, entered the user name registered with dydns, entered a password that I have kept a record of and set the dns server to dydns_free and set the port to 80. The line dydns gave me is my host name plus.dydns-free.com I enter this into eagaleyes in ip address, set port to port 80, set user name to the one registered with dydns and put the password in thats on my dvr and the title I give it is dvr. when I try to make contact eagle eyes states ip not accessable. The router is a 2wire bt bussiness hub that bt have switched on port forwarding on port 80 and have allowed two way traffic on this port I have spent many hours trying to get this to work any ideas. By the way the line dydns sent me has a hyphen not a underscrore as it is written on the avtec in eagle eyes I have tried hyphen and underscore with no success.
