2 machines i installed both 8.33 and 8.4 DMMultiview and Remote viewlog on, both Win7, the video is blocked and in both cases the borders flicker, overall the quality is also awful and no quality settings make a difference. No issues on any XP machine. No issues viewing remote video from a cheap stand alone DVR on these Win7 machines, this is only happening with the Geo software. No diff if run in XP compatibility mode. Any ideas?

Anyone got overlay with DMMultiview & Remote viewlog on Win7
rory replied to rory's topic in Geovision
Basically on 2 Win 7 PCs using Multiview the image has no overlay, its all boxed, flickers, etc, and its coming from 4 different Geo PC DVRs so I know its not them. None of the same issues from WinXP PCs at the same location. Ive tried it on large but it makes no difference. Maybe its just a video card issue on these specific Win7 PCs? One is a small IBM laptop, the other is a mini Dell, obviously with onboard video, didnt get the chipset type but I can check on Monday. -

Im distancing myself from the CNB cameras now after my last job using them (other than maybe the dfl-20s), they just dont seem to have the quality. In fact they look gawd awful on some DVRs, while other cameras, even cheap no name ones, do a better job. They do have the low light capability that many others dont, but the daytime color images tend to be mostly bad.

BTW the test succeeds every time even with no email settings, so that test is useless. Ive come to the conclusion that the entry level Dahua DVRs do not send email, or it is a problematic feature. The one I have here was working the other day, now it is not. Otherwise .. In both the budget unit (like the Qsee model) and the HDMI models, this is how I set it, this is an example of the settings over the network using the PSS Software. "Capture" is needed to send the attachment.

I know .. and a cop as well ..!!

Is this the Suse version or is there another one? Thanks. is this being run with WINE? no, native, though they may have their own emulation built in.

Possibly the cameras are Color IR and not TDN and are staying in color but becoming noisy in low light .. hence the colored spots.

About 1200' for color and 1500' for BW

Looking to Partner w/ Security Expert for Project in MI

To all members/guests. Please PM the OP for further discussion. -
if its good at the junction then its an issue with the baluns.
-
thats the quickest way to fix it. Just for that particular camera. With 24VAC cameras you can get an Multi output Isolated Power Supply from Altronix, for example. but you have another issue, the junction with the baluns and cat5. You should also test each camera there from the RG59.
-
Couple things to try ... Test the video at each camera, forget the DVR for now. Remove cameras from the power supply 1 by 1 until lines go away.

Best camera you will ever use for the money..........
rory replied to gtxkid's topic in Security Cameras
I see one reason I wouldnt use it, no 0.35 gamma setting. Another reason would be the built in IR in that style of dome. Otherwise the specs are decent, same as most dual voltage cameras these days. I see no information on the Infrared distance though, that would make me move onto the next camera when looking to buy a TDN IR camera. -
Default settings are the best for CNB cameras .. typically. Per a CNB tech.

a couple rotties. -
With Geo? Forget the VGA converter, quality will be awful, do like Soundy Suggested and get a cat5 VGA extender.

Tried without the HDD? Any leaking capacitors on the board? Check any other cables that could be shorting out. Board could just be fried.

I need to see the details of a Black man's face at night.

Now that I could see working, in fact even rock music would work around these parts, long as its not reggae, rap, r&b or gospel. Though I wouldnt want to be around them when it starts to make them mad. Im not a fan of classical music either though so I would probably roll out as well -
Damn Drug Dealers Across the Street

Big time or small time dealers? -
1st one, entry level PTZ with just 15mm zoom. 2nd one, must be old stock they are trying to get rid of, hence 480TVL.

I looked at them breifly .. but doubt they would work at least round here. When the youths have 5000 watt sound systems blasting from their cars pretty much with non stop bass .. doubt there is much this thing could do. Though guess it could work around normal youths, not the real thugs though who when they hear this and start to feel threatened probably just ga take out their guns and start shooting indiscriminately all over the place.. -
the CNB box cameras and Blue-i domes have the 485 feature.

"Always ask an expert" - Time Lapse Digital Recording
rory replied to GarethOnline's topic in General Digital Discussion
I dont want to sound like a broken record and Im in no way trying to push sales their way but ... Dahua DVRs do all that. In fact many standalones do scheduling and or motion. Time lapse these days could typically be known as continuous record. or regular record - you can set the FPS per channel and hence it becomes somewhat like a Time Lapsed recording. I also mentioned Dahua as although they generally use a propriety format (.dav) they also have the feature to download the video as AVI, and even with the .DAV files they have (or rather I recompiled) a simple DAV to AVI converter which can be run manually or sent commands from another program. Also their AVI files can be viewed on any system with generic H264 codecs, quick and painless also to upload to Youtube or Facebook (unlike systems like Geovision). The recorded quality is not amazing but for what you need it should be enough. IF you need higher quality video then you may need to look at an Mjpeg DVR or Megapixel IP cameras. -
Do you guys have machetes there, for weeding? If so, walk around your yard with it, do the odd fake weed, and then chap a tree or two, just look crazy enough to scare them away. If they were 18 I would say walk up the biggest meanest one of the lot and knock their clock off.
