    AXIS P3346

That depends on the DVR, its not the camera with jagged edges. Ive been doing this for 10 years, and of all the things, jagged edges never stopped anything. What good is any camera when they are wearing a mask? BTW I prefer more light also, but im not the clients.

OR, you could just post a link to the thread which has the full images: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=24655 My sample is to show the low light performance, otherwise OFCOURSE it would have been in full size. Here are the full images for those that cannot follow links:

Every camera needs light, but typically lower resolution cameras perform better at night.
  6. Yep totally correct .. the 1.8 im talking of would be the M12 fixed lens .. cheap lens at that. Not sure if they even come in aspherical or not .. now you mentioned it .. I might take a look
  7. No, they use the M12 Fixed lens. The Varifocal Domes use the M13 Varifocal Lens. However you can change the lenses to any other lens of the same format. You could for example pick up a 2.5mm M12 lens from KT&C and install that on the DFL-20s, we have one with that on it now - I tried 1.8mm but it was just too blurry and the lens is huge, wider you go, more blurry it gets especially on the edges. With the IR domes though you are limited to 3.6mm and above, anything less and there can be issues with the IR ring fitting.
  8. Minor correction, the VCM-24VF is 0.005 lux and the VCM-24VD is 0.05 lux. Also please remove pricing as its too close to dealer cost, list price is basically double the dealer cost, thanks.
  9. Shipping and duty has nothing to do with the question I asked, so it must be normal for you to turn away customers based on their prior buying trends. For all you know this could be for a customer in America.
  10. So I guess when one of your CNB clients comes along and asks for a megapixel camera you just tell them its no point.
  11. So you can read minds now? Nice one Dont worry, when I start the new thread, there is no point in you replying to it.
  12. Not at all, I would hire someone that can set the camera/dvr up properly. But thats not what I asked. Guess I will start a new thread then, maybe someone else knows. Though I never could understand why people post samples with full light when someone asks about low light.

Why are they so worried, does he work for the CIA?
  14. I want to see someone breaking into my car and its low light. I Dont need to see their face, I just want to see so I can go grab the machete or the gun. I just want to know if Avilgon have any cameras that see in as low light as the CNBs, but Megapixel.
  15. Same exact camera as the DFL-20s, just in a vandal housing for outdoors. Please note though, neither of those cameras will pick up IR as they have a fixed IR cut filter, primary design is for alot of light, though they still do well under low light compared to other color only cameras.
  16. Even under low light? Any suggested model numbers? Im looking for something that matches the CNB monalisa for low light specs, without slow shutter.

I do converting on a P4 3.0Ghz and doesnt take that long, so the Core 2 should be faster.

    unix hero cameras

Never heard of them. Resolution is the same as others though, still 768x494 effective pixels. Standard OSD, only 12VDC though. Standard Varifocal lens (they dont say if its an IR aspherical or not) Digital WDR, its more of a gimmick in most cases. They dont give much details, especially on the lux levels. With the infrared inside the dome like that, can expect reflection if not careful after making adjustments. Overall, its okay, its not "amazing" though, its a standard IR dome. Also it mentions a "high light" feature, no idea how that works, would be better if it was included in a vandal dome though as an Indoor dome wont work for most licence plate applications. CNB has a similar feature. In fact most of the features in this are in the CNB and even the KT&C cameras.

I use both Handbrake and AviDemux, and sometimes Windows Movie Maker. AviDemux has filters which give you alot of options.
  20. Going by the required specs and the forum you posted it under, check out Geovision.
  21. Will see that more with a variable bit rate, though its primarily the type of encoding, probably H.264? Its basically the noise as the camera compensates for low lighting, and how the DVR handles it. You can adjust the contrast on the DVR for the particular channel, if it has that setting, lower it some, although it will darken it a little, so adjust the brightness a little higher. If the DVR has a choice of VBR or CBR, make it CBR. Also try adding more light so there is less noise, and or adjust the camera settings, and if the camera has Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) play with that.
  22. The inside of the cameras like the VBM-24VF and VCM-24VF get very hot as it is .. at least down here.

    Reset networked password?

Looks like an AvTech DVR I cant recall the default pass but try 1111 or 0000 Thing is you already got in there, so you can reset it there?
  24. No idea, doesnt get cold here. Someone else has to answer that part.
  25. DFL-20s is a small Indoor dome. It has no room for fans or a heater.
