Thought about starting a company selling Security cameras/eq

if you live in the US or Canada here is an easy way to legally make money with little work and expense LOL fill out online surveys, businesses have tons of money for advertising and they pay for surveys, though they generally want people located in North america so it makes it hard for people like me, even though we use everything you guys do. Find the ones that pay average $4 a survey, you can get anywhere from 1-5 of them a day to fill out, and then sign up for more than one survey site. Seriously although $4-20 a day doesnt sound like much, could do it while sitting outside MacDonalds for example, or in Starbucks, or wherever. Most need a street address to verify you are in North America, and only 1 per account. But hey lets say you had 10 accounts with the same or different sites, $40-$200 per day?? Hey is just an idea but the $4 surveys are in fact real .. i tried but being outside North America I could not do it .. now see why I feel no pity for poor people in the US who get not only welfare and handouts from their government well beyond anything most other countries do, but they also have chances like this and many many more to make money, Money, MONEY! Forget the ppc etc sites though .. waste of time and money, like 0.001 cents per click .. maybe get a couple a day LOL. Seriously if I was in the US I would be a freaking billionaire by now. 5 years ago I would already have had several online stores selling products drop shipped all over the place, all different designs and names .. and just pulling in the cash - I have a paypal account right now and I cant even take a meisly little $75 out of it until I get a US CC or a US Social Security number, and the intl account charges huge fees and still asks for a US credit card, which essentially needs a .. US Address! Anyway, the opportunities are endless .. like nike said .. just do it. -

Be different .. dont sell kits. Setup a web application that lets them choose the camera per location type and needs etc .. One thing I hate is the sites with a list of features on the left you have to click through to narrow your search .. maybe do something different. -

Oh yes proxy will work but free ones are slow slow slow .. If using TOR you wont have flash so ... I have clients that use Anonymizer to watch US TV ... but they also have US Credit Cards and Addresses. Also not sure that would work for the UK. -

For the record, the americans do the same thing to everyone else We cant even legally subscribe to Direct TV or Dish ... How I would love to be able to use Netflix and get unlimited movies for $8 a month. One of the few US News Media we can stream internationally is Fox News. Apple TV is one of the only devices that works outside the US but I think it still requires a US address. -

I have a client that uses Slingbox, has one here and one in the UK .. so she can watch it on her iPad or PC on either end .. so when she is here, she can watch her UK shows and even control her TV. -

If you are going to sell DIY might also be worthwhile having an installer list incase the clients want to pay for certain services. Also try get a % out of the installs maybe. -
Well facebook was and still is down for our entire country. Seems they changed their DNS ... and our ISP caches probably every 24 hours. We only really have 1 main ISP, which has most of the clients. Anyway didnt even know this existed until now, but google has public DNS servers you could use instead of your ISP's DNS. http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns Might come in handy sometime. I doubt google is going down anytime soon.

Dont forget its not just about the distance but how LONG you look at it too. Either way you dont want to stick your eyes 10" in front of any IR, unless you dont value your eyes.
-
Just never look at IR ... problem solved. I cant look at it now, too much eye damage from years of working with it in the pitch dark in the field, especially all the Extreme gear - UF500 would literally burn your skin at up to 3 feet, nevermind the eyes. I dont care about what safe distances all the manufacturers claim, even they dont really know.

From what n-n said BBC might consider that theft and as we know the brits like to try sue people .. almost as much as the yanks course if they tried to sue anyone in this country for copyright infringement then they would need to get in a long line to never gonna happen - pirated DVD sales here on every corner and even the brick and mortar video stores are loaded down with them. -

"Currently BBC iPlayer TV programmes are available to play in the UK only" They might as well just shut their public website down .. since they suck that much. -
Excuse me? we've been putting away "perps" with analog for years just based on things like that. Example just the other day some masked men robbed a jewellery store, but one had a custom gangsta hair style .. thanks to the $40 Color IR analog cameras which captured his special hair style in the pitch dark no less (and some other features you claim analog cant capture LOL) .. cops got him within a couple days, and he eventually gave up the others. BTW race, height, and eye color is very little to go on when there are tens of thousands of others that have those same exact features. But seriously are you saying an analog camera cant tell the persons race? If the analog camera cant tell it, then how on earth do you think the megapixel camera will, it sees through things?

So what you are saying is you are watching sports on 40" CRT monitors?

Sounds like an interesting idea. Drug trade here is now out of control, almost worse than the 80's/90's, people are getting murdered left and right now - and oh yeah that brings me to the other thing, here if they want money for drugs, well they are too lazy to go rob a house, they will just walk up to someone and shoot them in the head and take their money. There is a big cash for gold industry here now, so the criminals go around ripping chains and stuff from people, selling those for cash, then buying a gun to go out and rob and murder. Since most are thugs they do it for partying, drinking, drugs, or girls. -
invisible short range ir - decent exview TDN bullet though, great colors. http://www.ktnc.co.kr/english/viewtopic.php?t=927 double the IR and 830nm. http://www.ktnc.co.kr/english/viewtopic.php?t=929

Sifting thru the chinese makes on ebay is tough help
rory replied to bass1176's topic in Digital Video Recorders
No, only channel 1 gives option of D1 over 7fps (4/8 channel DVR), and all other channels then have to be CIF. You can however go below 7fps adjustable per channel. -
Next put the test outside and see how it gets so much worse Indoors IR is simple .. outdoors .. whole other ballgame.

D1 is max 7fps each channel. If you want channel 1 @ D1 30fps (or anything higher than 7fps), then all the rest will have to be in CIF.
