Yeah its called the real world. So back to the stealing, you do insure those $10,000 cameras at least right?
-
Unlike you, I dont just stick to one brand or one type of product, I give my clients the choice, not all need a $10,000 camera, and a $100 camera also wont work for every application. As for my opinion, I will give it to someone that gives a damb which obviously you dont.
-
Yeah okay then that protects it from being stolen
-
If the cameras are installed properly no one will be able to steal them... Rory I am giving up on you How is that? Is it inside iron bars welded to some large metal pole 100' in the air surrounded in electrified barbed wire? $10,000 camera .. its very inviting for a criminal. Dont you guys have criminals where you live? If not, I want to move there .. now!

Im looking at this as an idea for a client who has 4 x 16 channel Geovision DVRs right now, all channels taken up. Do you know if this will work with version 8.33 without paying for a dongle or any other licensing? Id like to just add 4x CNB VBM-24VF domes and this would be a cheaper/easier option than a whole new DVR or IP Domes. But I would like to know if the video quality is any good on them? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks

what if someone steals it? insurance? I guess a stadium should have beefed up security though anyway.
-
Whats the retail on the 16mp? The Chinese government are building us our first stadium here .. no idea when it will complete .. but more than likely they will bring in their own cameras
-
Are u proposing to use few hundred general view cameras ? Im not proposing anything unless you want to give me the job??
-
Interesting sales pitch in their document. Why not just get the faces when they enter and use general view cameras to see what they are doing inside? Could save yourself and your country millions in dollars and still be able to catch the perps.

Hi, welcome to the forum. Only one thread on the same topic is required, please dont post the same thing over and over. If someone on here knows the product and can help they will see the thread no matter which sub forum it is in. Hikvision is not as popular on here as some other DVRs so it might take a little time for a reply.

IP camera question acti 1231

Thing is, cameras dont "protect" anything, so yes they would rather in most cases spend $100 on a camera and put more money into physical security and insurance. Even with the video the courts normally just let the crooks back out anyway. Ive given video of someone with their face everything clear as day (yes on a 420TVL BW bullet in a club within 10 feet of the camera) where they were stabbing someone ... even though they had the knife in their hand and admitted to it and were on video seen laughing as they stabbed the person they got bail in 2 days and were out to do it again. -
Maybe try the basic DivX Decoder, its light and worth a try. It works with videos from the Dahua H.264 DVRs in Windows Media Player: http://www.codecguide.com/download_other.htm#divxcodecs

actually .. just leave the password blank or delete what is there and see if it logs in. In the PSS path there is a file called PSS_Config.ini, the password is in there: These are the 2 fields for that: SUser_ID= SUser_PSW= So with a default setup it would be: SUser_ID=admin SUser_PSW=00990103011501160128 ^ that long number is really 'admin' in english. so that would mean you would have to then enter the password 'admin' If you leave it blank it will not require a password. Example: SUser_ID=admin SUser_PSW= You would need to delete any text in the password box as it saves that text in the file also. There is another section in that same PSS_CONFIG.INI file: The following will make it autologin, if the password is blank in the above fields: Note check=1 means save the user and pass. [Login_Info] ;ÊÇ·ñ±£´æÃÜÂë Check=1 ;Óû§Ãû UserName=admin ;ÃÜÂë Password= PSSAutoLogin=1 Also regarding the section just above; If autologin = 0 then you will see the login box and the user and pass will be entered in the text boxes once check=1. Ok so basically if the Password= value is different than the initial SUser_PSW= value then it will error like you are getting now. This is mostly the same as the previous versions so there could be some conflicts. Just make them both blank and you are good to go with no password needed. Ive attached the modified PSS_CONFIG.INI in a zip file, this uses no password and auto logins, this is for ver 4.04. When you exit no password needed either, just click ok. Just extract the INI file and overwrite the existing one. PSS_Config.zip

I dont know about the Vista thing. But when I installed that version the user and password was already entered in the text boxes so no need to do anything but click ok to login. Did you uninstall the old version first? Also delete the PSS folders before reinstalling as it uses a file in that folder for the user and password. Make sure you are logged in as an Admin also. And right click run in XP Compatibility mode if it has that option - dont use vista myself so cant say for sure.
-
This wont end well
-
Yeah they normally have different names. Intellicam, XTSVideo, certain models from Q-See, Mace, and others.
-
Should work, maybe try PSS download direct from the manufacturer's website: http://www.dahuasecurity.com/download.aspx?p=fwyxz&p_kind=4&c_kind=17&c_kind2=139 Its the first on the list, version 4.04 - I havent tested 4.04 yet though, I use 4.03.

No, couldnt sell them here, cant even sell the regular TDN cameras now as the duty has skyrocketed. A $200 IR bullet is a $600 camera here, people want to pay $600 for the entire system! I was talking about TDN IR Bullets in general. -
My first installation...need suggestion

Perhaps hire a CCTV pro to do the job then take some commission? If youve never done it before might be best to let someone else do it and go on the job with them and learn from them. One reason a professional charges the labour they do is because they know what they are doing from past experience, its about knowing the product and placement of the product as well as knowing how to set it up properly and if the case be troubleshoot problems with the install. When I started installing Burglar alarms I worked for free for 1 month tagging along with an installer just to get some idea of the industry, regardless of already being reasonably smart - even then it took probably 1 year before i kind of knew what I was doing, and thats easy stuff compared to CCTV. Computers/Networking is totally different ball game from CCTV. We dont mind helping but if you have to ask whether to use an indoor or outdoor camera .. then perhaps one of the DIY consumer kits should be your goal. Otherwise if you want to jump right into the playing field .. be prepared for some hard work. As much as CNB of all brands does make it easier for the installer with the design of their cameras, its still not just plug and play especially when dealing with day/night applications. Indoor applications will always be the simplest of jobs, outdoor takes more work and preparation. Anyway, choose the camera for the application, if you dont need a weather resistant outdoor camera indoors, then use an indoor camera. There isnt one camera that does everything. CNB has a good selection though, but still they dont have everything. -

Thats how they should be, but every new one ive used lately has only 1 cable to the LED ring. Good to know their new cameras are sticking with some good old tricks -

Big difference, each camera does its own job.
