IR blur on Axis P1344?
rory replied to mike_va's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
As this is also an IR camera, focus in color, then check with Infrared in pitch dark, if it needs to be a little clearer, adjust it a very small amount. Switch back and forth until it is optimal. Other than that a Day Night IR corrected lens should fix the problem with focus shift. That said I dont know what other features the camera might have which may also be causing an issue. I normally focus a wide FOV in a controlled environment such as my garage. I can do this in the day then turn the lights on and off, and also stick the camera outside to test the IRIS level and focus. For low light only I just leave the door open a little. Some camera/lens setups can be a PITA and just take some time. -
An NVR *should* be cheaper, in general, than an analog or hybrid DVR, because it needs no capture hardware. Yeah but not compared to the average stand alone these days. We get these stand alones for less than the cost of a PC now.
-
Man every AvTech ive used is like that LOL. And yes its like remote desktop to the DVR, anything you do is seen on the DVR also. Change the screen remotely it is being changed locally. Sucks really, slow to use, just a PITA.
-
Yeah AvTech has or HAD one of the worse quality of all DVRs, at least its network video sucked, the evidence sharing was also horrible unless you did video out to a separate capture card like I did before, Live video was OK .. it was resold under tons of names in the US and world wide, thats those ones like kmart etc used to sell also. It was cheap, in most cases the cheapest at the time .. now things are a changing and there are much better products for even less. Mind you they arent THAT old, I still have one here in the box I just replaced a month ago, it was new from just a year or two ago, that was the CPCam model. Still ALOT of them in the field also, and many posts on this forum about them.
-
personally? i wouldnt go near it. LOL! this one did give me a chuckle though: http://www.networkcamerareviews.com/forums/about2808.html ive been doing remote video from back in 2001 for DVRs. granted back then it was still moving from phone line transmission and many chinese brands didnt have network options yet, but years before 2005 we had been remote viewing DVRs extensively. Note I was using Kalatel DVRs from 2001-2005 or so.

Yeah but do they have those in Maui? Is his state laws different from the mainland or similar? Dont have them here. But we are a totally different country.
-
if the product he used was legal in the US, that power and data over ethernet or whatever it is, and he is a licences electrician or whatever licence he needs for his state (Hawaii?), then isnt it legal?

Cool. Is it an IP camera and megapixel? And is it expensive? BTW I was getting a little dizzy watching that

well when you live in the islands you sometimes have to do what you gotta do

that depends if said newcomer is simply an ad bot here to plug websites in their signature or not?

IE tabs still needs IE on the computer, have to first install the ActiveX either manually or by opening up IE and installing it that way. Anyway what OS is this computer? Bottom line is ActiveX only runs in IE. There are other ways to stream live video though, java, quicktime, image refresh, etc.

wow thats like military grade Infrared its camouflaged Color IR cameras are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get.
-
There's no way to intergrate an IP camera in to this system I have now with the analog cameras and dvr right? The IP would just be separate and wouldn't record on the dvr? (seriously - I'm asking a question) yes you can use a decoder but then .. i imagine that MP is then useless.

My main computer is a P4 3.0 Ghz, and IMO it does not run "just fine" on this. Will it work, sure it eventually starts up, although slow with heavy memory requirements and high cpu usage it works, but its hardly the kind of software I can recommend anymore. From version 8.3 Geovision kicked the bucket. I have older Geovision such as 8.1 running on 2.4 Ghz celerons, but that software is day and night compared to their latest beasts.
-
Probably the same junk. Run from Sharp, CMOS, or 1/4" And if you want accurate colors in the day you need a True Day Night Camera (TDN, ICR) with Mechanical IR Cut Filter. 3.6mm 1/3" is wide angle, so for example 6mm is useless in most typical applications. Thats just the basics.

+1 get yourself a good quality camera and put your money saved from buying a ptz to a good motion sencing just like this and have fun at the same time http://www.paintballsentry.com/Videos.htm +2 take all that money and pay bills
-
these are box cameras with a CS mount? If not, generally a fixed lens board (M12) wont fit a varifocal lens (m13/m14).
-
take the money you want to spend on a "cheap" PTZ and get a megapizel IP camera?

D1 @ 7fps OR CIF @ 30fps? Which is Better--is Bigger better?
rory replied to Toaster's topic in Digital Video Recorders
wait this is not the same DVR now right? Could be different then. I'm now using the Q-see QT428 8CH dvr which is by TVT... I think it was said its KOREAN -- I don't know....? chinese also -
yeah but the email part wont let you select a schedule. so if you are recording motion 24/7 on a schedule (like me) instead of continuous, then it wont work. now you COULD record continuous and then just setup motion during a specific time and have motion send you email. BTW im using an old 80GB sata for this test machine, hence motion only and not continuous.

you mean like these? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utspe2XBCBY http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=159423680738890 I just used Windows Movie Maker on XP to convert it to WMV then uploaded that.
