  1. I just checked and this camera is not an IR PTZ Dome??
  2. On many IR cameras you can disconnect the IR physically, perhaps try that? I dont know this Acti camera, but are you sure it is focused for low light, what type of lens is it? Is the cover clean?
  3. Well the Ebay camera obviously has a ton more light as you mentioned a separate IR .. also its much lower resolution so it would be more sensitive in low light situations. Hey I use 420TVL BW bullets in most of my low light applications for a reason, not even the 600TVL ones .. i wish I can find a 1.3 at least megapixel BW camera that can match it .. i mean match it not come close ... for low light that is. Anyone?? And Im serious about that ..
  4. I havent bought one of the actual Intellicam units yet so perhaps someone who has can PM you .. not allowed any store links in the forum per the rules .. id like to know also though so PM me when you get it all up and running or least post the results here please i located the actual manufacturer of these before but dont recall their name at this time, its from Asia though as usual Also this is another OEM that sells the same models .. as far as I know .. http://www.xtsvideo.com/listProducts.aspx?subCategoryId=15 this is the one I tried actually .. I believe they are a fairly new company .. no idea where to buy them from though so you might have to contact them to find out. They only sell to dealers as far as I know, similar to Intellicam. Intellicam is a more well known name though and been around alot longer.
  5. I dont know, maybe as its megapixel? But more importantly, why does that Ebay camera look so good at night?? Is that IR from the camera itself or is there other light on from the Patio? Is the same exact amount of light present in the snapshot from the Acti camera?
  6. the one i used had amazing movie like live quality over the HDMI .. and that was the slimline one. I think it was a 32" LCD though. It was a model from another OEM though. Intellicam has been around along time.

    remote viewing with no router

Sure, I did it without routers for years before they became popular. Use all static IP info the ISP gives you .. also Subnet, Gateway and DNS. I used it with Cable Internet though, never DSL. Make sure your ISP isnt blocking the ports though.

    Shooting thru windows

If you want to use the same camera maybe use it as a Color only camera, then need to open it up from the front, get inside it and see if you can disable the IR. Add IR outside if you need it. BTW im disappointed with this cameras performance anyway but thats more due to poor IR distance, I wont be using it again myself.

also try telnet port 50000 and 10101 and see what those bring back. Those are ports 2 other korean DVRs use ...

    DVR - KT DMR-1600

if you use XP it would be command prompt, or use Start, Run, cmd then type: telnet 192.168.1.49 80 or you could just try to ping it: ping 192.168.1.49 should work in all windows. make sure it is connected to the network ofcourse with the cat5 other then 80 it could use another port like 81, 82, 8080 (normally the router uses this), 8081, etc

    DVR - KT DMR-1600

it should be enabled by default .. usually anyway. That light might be for when someone connects .. whats your internal IP address? or whats the router's DHCP range? can you check the router's Local Network DHCP client list and see if it is listed?

    DVR - KT DMR-1600

ok another option .. one way to find out is by finding out what activeX control it uses ... can you PM me a link to it that I can access online .. or you didnt get to set that up due to all the korean? You could just port forward to that DVR's IP ... maybe it uses DDNS and maybe it is in the first couple like 192.168.1.50+ .. and use port 80 and see what you get. You can telnet to it .. Telnet 192.168.1.50 80 and see if it connects. If it does then that is it .. once can load the webpage then can view the source and download the CAB and find out where it comes from. Literally I browsed pages and pages of DVRs on alibaba for South Korean manufacturers etc .. nothing looked like it .. but it could be a discontinued model which would make it harder to find. Might have to wait for one of the korean guys to log on here .. they seem to know alot about various products in their country. That or learn Korean really fast I tried entering all kind of common DVR menu names in the google translator but only one that came through was LOGOUT right next to the word admin. Least we know its Korean ..

    DVR - KT DMR-1600

I dont know .. looked around dont see anything like it .. where did you buy it from .. no link though please just the name thanks
  19. Like this? Intellicam DVR .. its only D1 record on one channel though, CIF on all the rest. http://www.genivtechnology.com/s.nl/it.A/id.518/.f They have more expensive units though that do the D1 on all channels: http://www.genivtechnology.com/products-one/category-two/G4-RTAHD-D1 Like Lorex this is manufactured in Asia and OEMd to companies in the US to resell under their names, so you may find it sold under other names also. Ive used that slimline in a 16 channel model from another OEM in the US and it had great HDMI live video .. the CIF recording was not great though. Didnt get to use any of their higher end models though. I cant say whether it has software that works on mac either, ive seen them claim iphone software though on various retail websites. Lorex is very cheap though, even though it doesnt look that way on the retail sites, ive used similar DVRs to them and the quality can be terrible, though cant say for sure how the Lorex is. H.264 compression in a cheap DVR is not always a plus. Thing with cheap DVRs especially 4 channel units is that its the manufacturers ultimate budget line so they will spend as less on it as possible and that means less features and or features that dont work too well.

    DVR - KT DMR-1600

can you get a better photo of it?
  21. No it was Avtech .. not avermedia. Ive used Avermedia and its okay but im not a fan of their software at this time, at least on the basic DVRs. It looks like they have some decent products in the higher end but not cheap and I remember not being able to find the same units on this side of the globe. The diff between what you saw is probably one is a PC based which uses something like Windows XP Pro or even Windows 7, and the other could be a Stand Alone with an embedded OS such as Embedded linux or an Embedded RTOS, or maybe even Embedded Windows.

    DVR - KT DMR-1600

post a photo of the actual DVR please.
  24. cant really say as I havent used it ... but looks like that 8-channel is only max 30fps in D1 while the Vsionis model is 60fps in D1. The CNB HDE2424DV with a DVD drive is the one with the 60fps in D1, but thats some $300 more then the HDE2412 you listed. I guess that explains why the CNB 16 channel is a couple hundred less then the Vsionis. Also I just used the CNB CMS Software and connected to a Vsionis DVR It actually seems to work better then the one by Indigos/Visionis called Nemon. BTW im having someone order one of their DVR cards, the price is much much much less then a Geovision GV-800 so going to give it a try. We dont ever need all the features of Geovision, and seems this software for the stand alone and CMS is decent so hopefully the PC software will be okay also, its all fully skinable as well and has a working activeX control as I already customized it before for the Vsionis .. anyway the card is so cheap its worth a try

    Lens quality

could try KT&C, but cant say if they are any better then whats on it now or if they would even fit, as they are both Korean they may even be from the same manufacturer: http://www.ktnc.co.kr/english/viewtopic.php?t=466
