B2760NVF is a decent bullet for the price, good for low light apps, switches to BW. As anything the IR will depend also on the reflective objects within the rated IR distance. At the least you will be getting a better image in low lighting due to the switch to BW and the higher sensitivity, compared to a low light color camera, and can add additional IR if required. If mounted too high though the IR will not be implemented well if at all. I cant speak for the monalisa as I have not used it, and have no plans to do so.

Also you might want to contact a US company that specifically handles Kodicom, Say Security. They only deal with legit cards but they may be able to help you with some kind of solution.

Do you VNC or Remote Desktop into a seperate PC? Im lost .. Anyway, is this what you want to do, run some web pages on another server that allows them to connect to DVRs you hard code into the web pages? http://www.bahamassecurity.com/webcam/

You could try some other software, just not kodicom software.

Kodicom is Korean and they dont sell cards, one buys the system ready made. If you see Kodicom Cards out of China they are more then likely clones/fakes and there is no official Kodicom software for them (afaik). http://www.kodicom.com

Sure you can, its called camlogo.bmp in the MetalStyle/Commres folder here is a sample plain black image: http://www.bahamassecurity.com/geo/camlogo.bmp you dont have to restart the PC, just Geo. NOTE. if you edit/create the skin images incorrectly, Geo may crash on startup.

The best version was 8.12 IMO .. but if there is a feature that is not working in earlier versions then sure, try a clean install with the latest version .. 8.3.3 is available now, 8.3.4 is released but no idea where to obtain it. They mostly address IP cameras from 8.3+. 8.3+ is also ALOT slower then previous versions, so make sure you have a fast system, like a Core 2 Duo or a Pentium Dual Core, and alot of RAM. I dont think audio feature has changed much though.

Geovision v8.3.3 64 bit Win7 guinea pig with audio problems
rory replied to micksgonefishin's topic in Computers/Networking
Just curious why you chose Geo for a complete IP setup? I have a couple questions though maybe you can answer for us, please Do they send a dongle along with the software CD? If one needs to add more IP cameras do you have to change the dongle? How is the quality on the MegaPixel cameras in Geo, in live and in Playback? Are you using the regular Video Log to playback? I guess as it is IP you can actually use any software to view them remotely, or stuck with using Geo's? Just curious as well if it works well then it could be a viable solution to be used with clients that have existing Geo systems and want to add IP only systems on other jobs, but be able to view them all. Ofcourse audio is not such an issue for some but would be nice if it works for clients that want it. Thanks. -
GV 8.3.3 works on X58 chipset w/i7 proc, 64bit, except audio
rory replied to micksgonefishin's topic in Geovision
So outside of Geo audio is fine then yep has to be a glitch with their codecs and 64bit or something. Make sure they have all the PC specs also .. did you contact the Taiwan one or the USA one? There is a rep on here from the USA one but they dont come by too often. You should receive a free card from Geo for being their test pilot (dont hold your breath though!). Hope you get it sorted out. -
You're probably still using the older Remote Viewlog, older versions will still work with 8.3.3 server. A clean install of Remote Viewlog 8.3.3 has no address book on the login window.

rory replied to micksgonefishin's topic in Geovision
Looks like the only updates in 8.4 are really for IP cameras. I installed 8.3.3 on 3 Dells and its working great, well other then 8.12 was Geo's best release .. these newer ones are much slower ... anyway .. otherwise it works good without any errors. Only bug I noticed is on Remote Viewlog 8.3.3 where the address book never shows up on the login screen, so I had to go back to the 8.3.1 Remote Viewlog instead. Im using XP SP3 32bit. I have no audio devices being used on those 3 DVRs though. -
Security Installers will be arrested for installing nannycam

Thats ridiculous .. they cant tell a homeowner what they can record in their own home. I guess sometimes it pays to live in a lawless country like me hey, just passing that law would be too much work for our politicians and if not someone better be gettin paid -
They will differ by brand and model just as cameras do (get what you pay for) but this is an example for what use to be 2 popular IR illuminators, Again, wont apply to other models.

Getting Poor Night time performance with Mobotix M12
rory replied to digitaltrader's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I agree, CCTV is obviously way too complicated for the average Photographer. the bottom line is this, and it even a photographer should be able to understand it, a BW Exview camera will capture the image just fine. But Im not even going to bother trying to explain CCTV lighting to a photographer, just not worth the time. This forum is full of learning material though if they wish to do so. -
Getting Poor Night time performance with Mobotix M12
rory replied to digitaltrader's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Going by his lux meter, a KT&C BW Exview Bullet will not be challenged at all, in fact, a True Day Night Bullet should work great also, even a non Exview BW Bullet. In Security the goal is to get the image. He can continue to worry about why this camera wont get it, count the F stops and on and on, or spend a couple little dollars and put the correct camera in for the job. Ofcourse if one is concerned about the glare from the entrance, then one would not point the camera at that to begin with. -
You will need whatever plugin they use. So for example if it is ActiveX then you need to use it in Internet Explorer only, and change the activeX security in IE.

I agree, thats a real crappy bullet camera. (or its not focused, or its faulty, or the DVR is not setup correctly) -

You mean a megapixel security camera sensor right? The image i see has alot of light for a regular exview BW bullet. -

it may be a lot cheaper for him to just add a BW Exview camera for night time. -
Geovision v8.3.3 64 bit Win7 guinea pig with audio problems
rory replied to micksgonefishin's topic in Computers/Networking
Yes but you are using Windows 7 and 64 bit which is rare with a GeoVision DVR. And personally I have had nothing but problems with Realtek AND SoundMax but it varies from one motherboard to the next. Instead of contacting Geo and waiting weeks for them to attempt to fix something they may never fix, the quickest thing right now is to just change the Sound Card. Although there still may be some other hardware issues such as the new Motherboard Chipset. -
Geovision v8.3.3 64 bit Win7 guinea pig with audio problems
rory replied to micksgonefishin's topic in Computers/Networking
Im using GV's audio without any issues. Most onboard audio chips are known to be crappy and have glitches and cause all kinds of unwanted malfunctions within an operating system, the driver is started, it is operational, regardless of whether or not the IP cam is using it, the operating system is still using it, and so is Geovision. Main reason we normally do disable it and install a real Audio card one time. $10, thanks but not enough LOL.
