Housing for Box Style Cameras In Corrosive Environment
rory replied to WRS_Mark's topic in Security Cameras
I forgot, I have these up at a couple locations near the ocean also, been up for several years now without any major corrosion. http://www.gesecurity.com/portal/site/GESecurity/menuitem.f76d98ccce4cabed5efa421766030730?selectedID=2089&seriesyn=true&seriesID= -
Well down here, crawling around attics will give one plenty chances to get electrocuted since we have no enforced codes (or laws) here. Ive been hit so many times I lost count.

Housing for Box Style Cameras In Corrosive Environment
rory replied to WRS_Mark's topic in Security Cameras
the Extreme CCTV EX82 housings hold up real well Actually if you can find some damaged ones you could just gut them and place your camera inside that. I just saw someone with 6 bad ones here that got hit by lightning .. would have been perfect but they still want to hold onto them for some reason. I have them 10 years now right on the beach through all the hurricanes and all. I just gutted another one also but left the IR to use that, works well with a rather cheap IR bullet instead of the client buying a new EX82 (cameras were bad). I guess other than that the big brands should have something. -
ha ha .. I paid someone else to crawl up in there yea there was another opening into that crawl space at the DJ booth for some reason .. handy for them I guess. I dont know if anything actually took place in the crawl space or they just used that opening as a place to throw their used condoms
-
power them separately, power it directly at the camera. If its still doing it with a monitor plugged direct into the camera then perhaps the power board on the camera is damaged. While you are at it though check the connectors at the camera.

something like that at the night club here but its a little more space, also when you get by the DJ booth area of it, there were piles of used condoms!!!!

What benefits are you seeing? I would only ever use wireless as a last resort.

Its whats been done in CCTV for years now, so it appears it is important. -
I could have used that snow, or least some cold, a few weeks ago when i had heat/sun stroke out in the field in 90 degree + heat .. the area where the camera was that I was working on, was like an oven ... we've had a long long long hot hot summer

No, he's saying they tore the BNC off the camera's output cable. Exactly. in that case just take the connector off the RG59 and join the wires together. If they cannot do any of this, then hire someone that can. Anyone in the CCTV industry, or even the low voltage industry, should be able to handle that for them.
-
Rg59 doesnt come with connectors, so this sounds like premade? Cant the worker just put the BNC back on?

Ok here is video from the cheap color bullet, 380TVL, second hand I literally got this from the dumpster for free, and it didnt even have a mount so I made one using the clips for plastic blinds and a couple small chips of wood .. hey its my apartment not a client Im ordering the high resolution color bullet so will post those videos when I get it installed. I just needed something up there working again as the last one got wrecked from rain (ok yeah I left it open for 3 months LOL). BTW this is captured using a Diamond USB TV Capture Stick. And yes that USB thing works on the 7" Eee PC also. It is actually the video out from an AvTech 4 channel DVR. Ill try and get the raw video bypassing the DVR and replace that here tomorrow. 50MB video. http://www.mediafire.com/file/mw0edigjo35/596avtech.avi or just stream it on cctvfootage (low quality) http://www.cctvfootage.com/video/Color-Bullet-and-AvTech-DVR

poorly installed BNC connectors from yet another job i came across, and really just a whole overall mess of cables to work around. and no i wasnt redoing it as I wasnt getting paid and it would also mean redoing the DVR properly as some moron just set up XP on it as default with no tweaks, loaded the DVR software then walked away. Dont think anyone can quite top the nightmare mark had to deal with though BTW moved to installation forum. as you can see they didnt even change the time zone to EST -5 and the time was off by 3 hours. And they installed it all on a single partition
-
here this is a funny one i came across the other day .. check the wiring on the other side of the wall. Not a client of mine BTW.
-
lol looking at that no wonder you were getting shocked. And is that a huge pile of soldering with those 2 wires there??
-
Hi guys. I get wireguys joke though, as we are only allowed to post list price on this forum. However you guys can talk any other price levels through PM if you like

Telephone wire to power 12V cameras?
rory replied to stuspick's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Tell you what, let him go try to power some Extreme Infrared Cameras using telco and come back and let us know how it goes. I "COULD" jump off a 10 storey building, but I dont think its a great idea, and so I will say so when the topic comes up, if thats okay? -
Hi, when I say local monitor I mean the one connected directly to the DVR. You cant judge anything by the video over the network. You need to check the cameras directly.
-
lol, he booby trapped the connectors?
-
Highly doubtful it will come close to the performance of XP. Most might be noticing a difference simply because they are now using faster computers compared to what they might have been using with XP, but XP flies like a space rocket on hardware clocking just 600Mhz once setup properly, something Vista and the like could not come close to doing either way. But that said. . . I have noticed too many issues with Geovision 8.3 that I wont use that again anyway, them and MS should have the same slogan ... "it just keeps getting slower .. " again ..

long range wireless video
rory replied to bs953's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
What about LuxRiot? They probably work with those cards. -
What on earth is it? Looks like an IR camera but those IR would be blocked by that ... lens??
