  1. Browser based apps suck. Best to install a client.
  2. you can digitally zoom into any recorded image. Yes Rory, you can but the resolution will just not be there, you cant argue with physics. agreed
  3. Yes but that is not the camera we were discussing, that is a Black and White camera. However, I am glad they do have one available and thank you for posting the info .. now I go ask my client to switch out that $80 BW bullet

    Software That Fixes Itself

Yeah maybe it will virtualize the OS, like run the OS within itself? Anyway, I can see it having alot of false alarms. Perhaps it is a start to something better though. Then again, where did AI ever go ...

    Software That Fixes Itself

Im wondering if this even works with an OS like Windows? think maybe they are writing it in assembly?
  8. Dont get me wrong, its a impressive camera, but just wont cut it for most of my day night apps. I wish it did so I could go and tell all my clients to switch to it right away, I would love to start with the night club car park, think he will go from a $80 camera to a $15,000 one? Its the 16MP camera from Avigilon.

Doubt it will work with my software.
  10. I based my reply on the manufacturer specs: 0.1 lux minimum illumination Lens f stops obviously effect ALL cameras but in this case I am highlighting that the manufacturers spec of 0.1 lux, regardless of what lens it has, is not good enough for a day night application in "most" cases. I really dont need to know what lenses are available for that camera either, as I would never buy a $15,000 camera.
  11. No idea what you are talking about.
  12. I am impressed with how well it does without it though, I mean it is night and day difference between this and other Non ICR cameras, the daytime colors actually look good. And it is harder to knock, if one is looking for that. Literally the vandal shell it is in is a tough bugger. But for a couple bucks less, I can get the easier to install CNB True Day Night. Only problem is, it is not here in the Bahamas right now, these are. But I think we have hijacked this thread too much already
  13. The 599T. Vandal IR Bullet. Biggest problem with that camera is the short cable, you need the box right next to it. 2nd problem with it is the silly torx tool which only has the hole on one side of it, the short side. 3rd problem is the base is so strong, hard to drill out larger, and it only fits small screws. Mounting this camera and hooking up is a PITA. It is good as a camera for what it is, non ICR and digitally enhances the colors well in the daytime, though Ive seen better obviously from ICR cameras. Point of a bullet camera is the ease of installation, that goes out the Window with this one. I could forget the other issues I mentioned, if only they provided a longer cable. BTW Arm Electronics also sells this camera but in a Silver housing.
  14. Haven't used it, doubt I would. Used the NON IR models though, indoors, and they were okay.
  15. Yeah but I mount these cameras out in the bush so at night when it is pitch dark, that blinking LED is like a dam lighthouse.
  16. and yet it still cant see at night (0.1 lux is NOT good enough for most apps and yes I have seen their couple so called night shots which are loaded with outdoor lighting)
  17. Yet all that LED does is say hey look at me I am a camera come and destroy me
  18. Just open the camera up and pull the lens and board out, depending on the camera you may need to go through the rear of it to access the wiring also. It should have 1 small clip to the board and as mentioned it could be 3 or 4 wires, and they could be ANY color. Typically ofcourse the colors are Red and Black for Power, and Yellow for Video, the video ground could be missing or could just be an outer braid, or could be another color, or could just be the black ground for power and video. Oh yeah, make sure POWER down the cameras first. Anyway, wont be the best thing to do, but you could try it if you are adventurous. Your best bet is to find a camera with similar specs. If you can get the same exact camera then sure you should be able to just swap out the guts. Example: In search of wire color identification, I just gutted a Vandle Prood IR Bullet Camera which used White for the Video Signal and blue for the Video ground. It also had a dummy green wire in there, so there were actually 3 wires but only 2 were of use. The power was red and black, but the IR had its own power and that was Orange and Purple, that IR Ring also controlled the camera's iris, and it was a fixed lens camera with no ICR. It also had a looping Yellow wire that tied into the Red somewhere in the cable joint, to work a blinking LED (idea is to cut it to disable that LED - funny thing is the manual says cut the ORANGE wire, which powers the IR Ring!). The White, Blue, Red, and Black actually came from the camera board using a single clip; the purple, orange, and yellow went to the IR Ring to a clip which also had a white wire going from the IR Ring to the Camera board. Ofcourse a simple bullet camera should not have these issues. Getting it all back together was the fun part.
  19. 1-Select Disable Video Lost beeping, and Disable Watchdog Beep. You should also use the Enable/Disable camera section and disable (uncheck) any cameras you will not have connected. 2-No iphone here. But, you need to connect to your ISP IP address. It will change unless you order and setup a Static IP Address from them. Alternatively if you have a router, you can setup a DDNS name depending on the service included in the router, eg. DynDns.com. Additionally to access if from outside you will need to port forward the ports to the DVR, so make sure the DVR is using an Internal Static IP address also. Fixed iris

Sounds like a job for a Panasonic WDR camera. Actually, I dont know what camera you have now, so hard to say, but if it is a cheap Bullet camera or dome camera for example, they typically do not do well with light handling, auto iris or not. Just upgrading to a higher quality camera, like a decent brand dome or box camera even better, not even necessarily a Panasonic, may help with your issues. Ofcourse you could always just put the camera on time lapse (continuous) on 1pps or similar and forget about motion. Where I live, I know what he means by Sunlight causing the motion detection but as mentioned it is more then likely something like clouds or trees and shadows etc. actually causing the motion. If thats the case then its unlikely even a Panasonic will help with that.
  21. Yeah the major Wireless players dont sell them it seems (eg. VideoComm), but I have seen them on Kmart type TOY systems .. I recall seeing a wireless 4 channel DVR .. dont recall the name now though. Maybe search the forum as it was linked from here. Once again though, may require you buying 50 units if they wont sell you a demo
  22. Velcro the single channel RX or screw them all to a piece of wood ...

  24. Looks like it is terrible for night. Those night shots look just like color minus the chroma, least it works with light though. I like the second to last picture, can i get that in all of them please, thanks
