1.6km? Yep, NVT claims 1 mile (1.6km) with Active-Active. I have a demo here from Poland that claims 6-8,000 feet .. untested ofcourse

    Recommend Cameras Please

Links in signatures follow forum guidelines. Can everyone please get back on topic, thanks.
  6. Going by the specs listed above, the Nuvico is a True Day/Night camera which has the IR Cut filter, while the other one is just a Color IR Camera - so it is not a fair comparison. Obviously the Nuvico model will be better in this case.

here is the big killer: - Integrated f3.3~12 mm / F1.6 Megapixel lens - 0.05 Lux at F1.0 obviously if you have light then it will be fine. wont see like your panos though. Wonder if you could scrap that F1.6 lens for something better. It has an ICR though. But still as a comparison, most True Day Night CCTV cameras will be 0.01 lux at F:1.2. Hey its in the Pano price range though, and you look like you have enough light for it

where is your cctv DVR mounted??

I agree, PET motions are pretty useless. Those just make it easier for a burglar. I was in that biz for 6 years BTW.
  9. That picture is 600x width. Anyway, Im done arguing on this, because its clear you have no experience with quality CCTV cameras. I realize it would suck to know my $70 Exview bullet camera can do just as good a job. Ofcourse you have to respond with another marketing pitch though .. I understand ... its all part of the sales method. I am done though.
  10. OK lets get it clear .. we are talking about the image posted in this thread. You can go off on a marketing binge about other cameras in another thread. To obtain that image I only need 1 (ONE) CCTV Camera. Rory that's BS..... your say a analog camera will have the same image as a 1.3 megapixel camera. NOT TRUE that is NOT a 1.3 Megapixel IMAGE (not speaking of whatever original image it was). If you hate, as you call it "analog" CCTV then why are you even on this forum?? It seems you hate a technology so much that you have never even used. Its an insult to anyone that has been in this PROVEN industry for years. .
  11. Post the link to that product??
  12. OK lets get it clear .. we are talking about the image posted in this thread. You can go off on a marketing binge about other cameras in another thread. To obtain that image I only need 1 (ONE) CCTV Camera. As for the NVR, $100 DVR and good to go. I wouldnt even count a built in web server as anything significant anyway.
  13. I would only need 1 (ONE) Camera. And even if I did need a couple cameras, I only spend $200 while you spend $2000 and YES I can ID people, I have MANY times in the past, up to 100' away from the camera at night, one example of many, I helped cops put a murderer in jail from a cheap BW exview bullet at night. I reviewed dozens of stabbings on CCTV last year and all were ID'd - cause I know you guys like to speak of resolutions and things like that.
  14. What someone needs to come out with is a switch over component so one could use any 2 cameras for a dual camera set up .. then you could say hook up a 1.3MP camera and throw a standard Day night IR Camera on the side of it ..
  15. ok cool .. now lets see some low light night time shots .. right next to a BW Exview Bullet camera and to be fair a nice full light shot.
  16. Maybe the new one just didnt take? Or maybe it is lost somewhere in the self-signed certificate maybe try a different browser? only option i read is to reset the product to factory default settings if the password is lost.
  17. What is an NVT DVR? NVT make UTP (Cat5) Transmission Products, for exactly the application you are looking to do. Not sure about that wire though, its typically Cat5 and Cat6, basically UTP cable. Check their site for more info on the types of wiring though. http://www.nvt.com From memory, I believe you could get away with one passive and one active at the other end for up to 3000' max, but to be safe I would just use Active on each end if I were to quote 3000' anyway, just incase. Passive to passive for up to 750' BTW. They have the individual passive and active baluns or the multi ones, typically would ofcourse have individual ones at each camera and the multi device at the head end. They have charts and info on their site. Its an expensive brand though, there are others that are cheaper.

    ICRealtime?

Theres a few DVRs out there which have remote video browser apps that work on Macs, using java or maybe quicktime (? not sure about that 100% though) and even Jpeg push. Take a look at these guys for example: http://www.video-insight.com. Though thats a PC DVR and looks like you want a Standalone. But you know the others will still work on a mac, just install Fusion and XP inside that then put the DVR app on start up .. if its a webpage, save the loading page as a .HTA and add that to the start up .. make it load in full screen also. Shortcut to that Virtual PC and call it DVR or whatever you want to name it. Just an example, I use Virtual Box but for Mac seems Fusion is better.
  19. um ... with expensive IR LOL. exview B/W or nuttin
  20. also make sure the camera is clean. at night it will make a huge difference.
  21. also for what its worth, i was able to get the GeoVision GV-250 card to work with the BT878 drivers, was no easy task though. I demoed it in luxriot, but only ever had 1 of the 2 channels working. It was rather pointless though, as Geo has its own software that comes with it
  22. Sounds like there is something wrong with that antivirus program. I scanned all the images on that page and found no infections. I also checked them myself and only found traces of photoshop info there. There are no executables on that page either, actually it is missing alot of files. What browser are you using?
  23. just a thought, with camera 4, if you turn it a little anti clockwise then bring the right up a little, you should be able to get the driveway as well
  24. Then you want a camera with a mechanical IR Cut filter. (ICR) You wont get that in a Color IR Camera. That said, if all you are looking at is the front door, then a cheap Color IR may work fine. -------------------- Purpose of IR Filter in Color Cameras An IR filter – or IR cut filter - is a color filter blocking the infrared light. There are several good reasons for using an IR-cut filter. Using a color camera to achieve realistic colors in white light requires an IR-cut filter. The color spectrum seen by the human eye is quite limited compared to the spectrum seen by a CCD camera. Especially, in the near infrared region of the spectrum the difference in sensitivity is significant. This is important to know since many light sources, including the sun, emit infrared light. A CCD color camera in daylight without an IR-cut filter will therefore see a significant amount of infrared light resulting in strange colors. Another reason for using an IR-cut filter is the limited color correction for many lenses. It is difficult to design imaging optics covering both the visible spectrum and the near infrared spectrum at the same time. Therefore, many lenses have different depth of focus for the visible and the infrared spectrum. Anyway, the IR-cut filter cuts away a significant amount of the overall collected light and thereby affects the sensitivity in a negative way. In general, color cameras are one factor less sensitive compared to monochrome (depending on the CCD chip). This is primarily due to the IR-cut filter.
