I used the version that it replaced, it had an actual 50' IR in that case, I reckon this newer one should be close enough to that also. Most True Day/Night bullets will give approx 50' IR with a 30 degree beam.
-
i forgot one ... True Day/Night Dome: CNB-VB2760NVR many brands carry this same one BTW with varying options like different lenses, watch out though as there are also many Color IR versions, in fact CNB has one also. The bullet camera is much better for certain mounting options though as well as physical adjustment. I have this same type in my yard, I prefer the bullets. If you are worried about someone stealing your $100 bullet though, you know, instead of stealing your $10,000 car or gold rings, etc etc .. then perhaps the dome will be better for you, if anything it will slow them down by perhaps ... 3 minutes.

well for a BW Exview these days: KPC-EX190SWX Mini day night isnt going to happen, Day Night bullets will be a little bigger then the small BW and Color bullets. eg check this one: [PRODUCT REMOVED, POOR QUALITY CONTROL] - same specs with most ALL TRUE Day/Night bullets, other brands have identical specs, follow them to the T. you mention a light, is there enough light there for a simple color bullet? KPC-VBN190NHWWX

is the IR anything like this??
-
this is a sanyo day night box camera .. not even exview .. just a true day night ... pitch dark .. literally i had to use a flash light to walk around there. There is some light in the next yard in the distance, the camera takes that and spreads it over the image ... there are some lights off to the right also but their effect stops about where you see it on my jeep there. just to get an idea of how dark it is, its the same as in the image on the left here (same driveway, looking left, towards a gate)
-
no IR in that one. they are just mini BW Exview bullets.
-
separate IR is always better but I dont have a problem with Most True Day/Night IR bullets ive used, they all have integrated IR, 30 degree beams .. and ofcourse ive used plenty Extreme CCTV Infrared products also ... its these really crappy Color IR cameras that need to just be run over with a truck cause man they are sooo crappy. example: Color IR example: BW Exview edit: new image tonight, seems i lost some light from back then, so to be fair here is the up to date exview image: (lack of quality due to AvTech DVR again - wider angle due to 3.6mm 1/3". the color IR camera was 2.8-11mm 1/4" but it would not come into focus until around 5mm 1/3" no matter how much I disected it). Still though, the BW Exview is cheaper.
-
Could just be a crappy Color IR camera, thats probably it. Too dark for what little bit of IR it has. I normally only use TRUE Day/Night cameras, I just installed a Color IR bullet that the reseller quoted by "mistake" and its so crappy I would like to really hit it with a bat or something or like they said .. point it down and see what happens. BTW one should be adjusting an IR camera at Night.

Help with viewing over the internet it worked before not now

What DVR is it? What OS is on your Home PC and is that different from the others? Only in the Browser? If yes then perhaps its a browser setting. If you have XP try and telnet to it; Start, Run, CMD telnet IP PORT if screen clears it is ok. otherwise it will say error connecting etc. If it actually cant connect to the DVR port then it could be a port that is blocked by your ISP for your home. -
Its says in the SDK that enable direct draw is reserved for Future use, so perhaps. Though if its the 64 bit issue then probably not. Question, can you run 32 Bit windows XP inside a Virtual world on that PC? If so you could try installing XP 32 bit in Virtual Box then run the DMMultiview from within that. I had to do that with a Vista Laptop I came across, with an older DVR whose ActiveX would crash in Vista, and I just put the app on startup. upload to www.tinypic.com if you are having issues with that.
-
Macbooks have Core 2 Duo far as Ive seen.
-
is this the one with the NVidia? Same CPU or different?
-
You wont be able to, its part of the functions in the DMMultiView software. If you were using just the browser app you could make the change on the Server side in the webcam folder and force it in the javascript, but more then likely it is a limitation of the OS or the Video Card or some driver related to direct draw overlay on that PC. If you can, check for a direct draw test program and see what it comes back with.

Mounting camera under soffit using 2x4 best method?
rory replied to blake's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Yeah left out all the ground ... could cause problems especially if it starts to corrode, plus it could mean its not on tight and might get knocked off in future maintenance. -

If you went lower you would then be able to get some more of the driveway in there also .. -
What DVR are you going to use this in? If its a Windows based then typically it will be NTFS. If its an Embedded Stand alone DVR normally you just delete the partition and the DVR itself will partition and format it (or let you format it manually) when you first start it up with the drive as then it must be formatted in their file system.

wait .. on the wall there is 3 wires?? What are wires doing on the wall? Where does that wire go?? Normally there should be a video cable, and then a power cable, both having separate grounds. Anyway, typically the camera cable, the grounds are shared. If you were to cut the cable from the camera right before the big block in the plastic, you should see the 3 wires only, red, black, and yellow. Dont need to do that just saying.

1.3MP is an ideal resolution for night cameras today
rory replied to ando's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I would like to see the night views side by side with True Day/Night IR Bullets (from reputable brand names, eg. CNB, etc, NOT Color IR bullets) and also side by side with Exview BW Bullet (KT&C 420TVL Exview Bullet as thats their lowest lux camera). In low light and near pitch dark applications. (or send us some free cameras to test? ) -
Yeah it might not work with that card You have to install the new drivers, its separate from the DVR server software. Where to get it from? One place I can recommend is EzCCTV.com but you have to sign up (free) before you can download. Worst case scenerio you go back to the older one, maybe image the drive first just incase. Main thing is to clean the old one off good first. Had issues when we upgraded from 7.xx to 8.xx mostly due to 6 or 7.xx versions still lingering around, generally the INI files in the windows folder. Though I installed OVER 7.0 the other day and it worked, some things were not working properly and I had to manually mess around with them in the INI file .. its up to you if you want to just try and install the new version over it. I only did that because I didnt know all the existing settings and wanted to keep it all as close as possible (they had PTZs also) otherwise I would have done it fresh from the get go.
-
No you will need to remove it completely and should do so using the steps i mentioned before. Its a big jump from 7.xx to 8.xx and sometimes you can just install on top but most times it would crash alot so best to clean it first. For 8.2 and above the CPU should be at the least a newer Dual Core or better yet a Core 2 duo. I got 8.12 on a celleron even though Geo doesnt recommend it, stripped down tweaked XP. Not sure how their mobile apps are for 8.12 though. The 8.3 will have their latest apps but as mentioned uses alot more CPU and also way way way more memory. Like Microsoft, Geovision just keeps getting slower.
-
in the older versions I dont think they had mobile phone stuff back then .. 8.2 etc has it though but that would mean reinstalling that version on there. They had PDA software though (i think), should be on the CD. Also you can enable java ftp image under the webcam settings and it will write jpegs so you can connect using browsers that have java, less quality and less features though. Personally Ive never tried any kind of mobile apps other than on the pocket PC and that kind of thing just sucked so much I cant use it, we dont have the networks in this country for cell phone stuff as far as I know, either way my $50 cell phone is just that .. a cell .. and i barely ever use that now adays anyway .. i use a 7" EEE PC for everything else mobile and that has XP so I just run LiveVue Geo to watch the DVRs.
