  1. KT&C, some of the smallest bullet cameras around. http://www.ktnc.co.kr/english/viewtopic.php?t=430 as mentioned really no bullet or board cameras handle lighting well, that goes for most DOMES also, as many of them are just the same board cameras. WDR Dome Camera? The following is an inexpensive one. http://www.cnbtec.com/en/html/product/product.php?seqx_prod=971 Oh yeah, none of them have any moving parts.

Super Circuits (SC Black) Dome Camera Question

Both are around the same specs, IR Bullets normally a little better than IR domes though, for outside and IR, in fact I would never use an IR Dome personally. But to each their own. Samsung GVI is hardly an upgrade though. Whoops my bad its the other way around Anyway, domes are typically not as weather resistant either. I dont know the location or the reasoning behind them selling you IR cameras to begin with. The Resolution on that dome is slightly off, should be 811x508, but perhaps that is the PAL specs? The Lux spec is incorrect also, most likely faceplate if anything, just an overzealous marketing team. Either way, the specs are about the same on both of them, how they work though I have no idea as Ive never used or tested either of them. Specs actually rarely tell the whole truth. As for the DVR, no idea, but best thing to do is try and plug one of the cameras into a TV and see what the quality is like that - thats composite video, if the cameras go into a DVR then out to an LCD the video is being converted from composite to VGA and that can very well look awful.
  6. KT&C, CNB, names like that, might.

    best day night camera

CNB has some nice True Day Night bullets. Just make sure it has an ICR and does not use DSS or Sens UP, and you should be okay. Stay away from MP cameras as it seems they still suck at low light video.
  8. Oh well, I give up on trying to find the SDK for now, will wait and see if i ever get a response from the manufacturer, nothing yet though. Added the wrapper application to my site for free download: http://www.bahamassecurity.com/software/utilities/xdvr.asp
  9. does it catch the plates at night?

  11. CMS software is separate, but what do you need it for? You can freely download the remote viewer and remote playback software.
  12. thats kind of a round up, for auto parts they charge 60% duty plus 7% stamp tax. For electronics its around 35%-45% duty plus 7% stamp tax. Some computer parts are duty free but still 7% stamp tax. Also, shipping, say from NY to Miami could be $15, from Miami to the Bahamas would be $100, just an example. They charge Customs on top of the total price of the parts+shipping. yep its their idea of tax.
  13. noise in bright light doesnt sound right. i dont think ive ever seen that.
  14. Ok I found it, as i brought the unit home. It has a serial number on it and a google search brought up this. XAD-401 - But so many korean sites advertising it. One even shows that general argus type software and even the Argus Logo as in the below image. Seems it might be an argus unit, though argus doesnt list it on their site. Ill keep searching, I dont even care who makes it, I just want the SDK Anyway, on the Argus site they have the XAD-400 so it must be an argus unit, maybe a custom OEM or something. http://www.arguscctv.com/en/03_products/06xad.asp Thing is, this one is closer to it than the XAD-400, as it has the same software and everything; http://www.aposoniccctv.com/Products/Surveilance/2008/A-S0401R2.htm
  15. i thought i read they were coming out with Day Night CCD cameras, if not already? Yeah I heard they are not cheap, but then for somewhere like down here, no megapixel camera is cheap after 50% customs, so if someone can afford a $2000 camera, which will be retailing at $4000-$5000 here, then they should be able to afford the better Avigilon camera.
  16. Many so called "analog" cameras allow changing the shutter speed. Also, why does LPR work so well with so called "analog" cameras from Extreme CCTV but not from you guys?
  17. either way. .. coax isnt going anywhere anytime soon.

    Lightning Basics

if you mount it on metal you might get a ground issue anyway, lines etc, so you might need to put a piece of plastic between it and the metal building. then ground it somewhere else if you must. I dont live in tornado alley though so typically i wont worry about lighting, if it happens then it must be for a reason .. crappy camera or something LOL. just kidding but ...
  19. you can set the focus and everything to manual also, but yeah cant take a lens. check through some of these, i dont have the time right now but they might have something. http://www.cnbtec.com/en/html/product/product_list.php?maxx=1 happy hunting
  20. Right here, something like this it has Auto Shutter or Manual. http://www.samsungcctv.com/prd/pro_view.asp?pro_uid=1470&cat_uid=15&cat_biz=CTV&cat_lev=AC They have the manual for download too at the top right. I havent used this model, it was a much older model, but as mentioned most zoom cameras have that Manual shutter.

CCTV system money not an issue

and bars, plenty of bars!! least here anyway geovision ... inexpensive but not ultra cheap .. easy to use and build ..
  22. Yeah been a while since i went to extreme's site, I havent been there since Bosch took them over also the EX26LED is one you might be able to use, it doesnt require a special power supply like the UF500 and the 100 do. The 60 degree beam might be around 40-50', I havent used that one. All of them use to be very expensive though, not sure if you want to spend all that. As mentioned if you really want to light it up with IR, then look at the UF500. But that sucker is powerful, cant even stand 3 feet in front of it, will burn you up
