Cant say the same for here .. GSM is down here more than it is up, I even stopped using my cell alltogether as I got fed up .. land line is about as best as you get for phones down here, which doesnt say much as that has its own problems too .. we use Radio as Primary though when the client requires it.

2 lenses? 2 CCDs I know, the Extreme CCTV EX82 for example, great camera and much better than the single camera solution, but as mentioned the single camera solution is the most common and less expensive.

also, first make sure they are paying ALOT of money and have good insurance, before you go way up there!

am i missing something .. where's the magnet?

Hi The GV2008 is supposed to be D1 480fps though Ive never personally used it. The video quality is supposed to be better than the Combo cards. CIF is low resolution, so you wont want to use that. As to clear face shots, that will depend on the camera, lighting, and the Field of View. All the Geo's with Version 8.2 Software support IP Cameras but I believe you need to purchase a USB Dongle for that feature.

They use to list them all .. dont know what happened.

Motion detection would be built into the DVR. Some CCTV cameras with OSD's/Zoom occasionally have motion detection built in. IP cameras typically have it built in also.

sorry humble And yes please test and let us know .. thought as it had less insulation it would be more susceptible to interference, but maybe not. Also, any comments on the strength of the cable compared to coax?

Geo's best card is the GV2008, as its hardware compression. At least for video quality. The GV1480 is 480fps record only in CIF mode. Thats alot of CPU .. ive done them with much less, 2.4 and 2.6 Core 2 Duo's, and even 2.0 Core 2 Duos. In fact back in the day it was P4's Never used a quad core myself but will obviously work fine. Geo likes alot of RAM, thats the most important, at least 2GB. Maybe step up to the 4-4-4-x XMS2 C4 memory, only a little bit more. Been using Gigabyte recently but either or will work. I prefer the 16MB Cache HDDs, but that should suffice. Everything looks good either way.

no probs .. thats the same price we pay as dealers BTW .. less $1.

I should also note, dont adjust the Focus in full sunlight though Just the Iris .. make it as bright as it can without washing out the image. the focus is a whole other thing, controlled lighting is best IMO such as inside a garage, so you can verify the quality in light, low light, and pitch dark with IR on, but focus in low light always, and make any minor adjustments with the IR on. 5-50mm lenses can be difficult inside a small space as a garage though, but a 4mm focus is fine generally. Or just focus it outside under low light and bring it in to test in IR. Either way, have fun, Day Night Infrared Cameras are probably the most difficult to setup, or at least most time consuming, as you have at the least 3 factors to adjust for.

no ablo spanglish dont jick up the messenger now ...

Need to adjust the Iris during the day outside in full sunlight.

Please keep the dealer prices to PMs .. thats simply a "retail" store selling at dealer price. When we say only list Retail pricing that means Suggested Listed Price, not just what an online Retailer may advertise it at, so basically for most products it will almost always be approx double the standard dealer cost. These guys are probably just not making much off the product is all, and probably limited to no warranty. Either way, pricing has to be kept to standard Retail levels on the forum to protect other dealers that are members here and or the forum advertisers. http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=3144 Thanks. PS. Stores like that which are selling at dealer prices to end users are killing the industry.

on the bottom image, looks like there is no IR Cut filter, or the Iris is just down too much, adjust the Iris and see if that helps. Other issue may be that the top image is TOO bright, iris up too high, so if there are any lights would be full of glare at night?

Problem with cat5 down here is this, balun goes bad, have to wait a week or two for some more to come in. You can pick up BNC connectors from any electronic store down here now though never seen a bad BNC connector ... Also, how are you getting around all the high voltage and interference issues with cat5? They load these ceilings up here with all kinds of raw high voltage exposed and all ..some dangerous stuff .. no enforced codes.

no dont use stranded. Should work but good luck working with It. Ive seen it on some older installs I looked at.

should I use IP cameras?

I suggest a quick search of the forum. Meanwhile, can you post any pix of an IP camera at night, in a dark club or bar, and in a large back yard in pitch dark (not an ounce of light in the area)? -

Actually the SSC-DC374 would be approx $280 less (going by first found results on google for both cameras). Also, I would really like to, and this is sincere, see an IP Camera that will work inside a bar or nightclub's extremely low lighting, and pitch dark apps covering large areas, that doesn't cost a fortune, but really, any examples would be nice - IP Camera manufacturers dont seem to want to post any image samples of that type of app. I mean its nice if you have apps that have lots of lighting all the time, or even adequate lighting .. but in my case, the majority of my apps have involved extremely low light or pitch dark. I mean granted the color is off in the day and quality is not amazing, but even a $150 OEM IR Camera can many times light up a back yard. Now if we can just get the MP quality for not too much more. -

Question, how many CCTV jobs, non IP camera jobs, have you done before? Its a relative question as you are suggesting that you cannot get a quality image from a Non IP camera, which is incorrect and anyone that has installed high quality CCTV Professional systems, would know that. -

Can you logon to the IP camera without the built in Web server? -

the whole replacing cameras point is mute, as a camera cannot see behind an object or around a wall. It really depends on the app. -

That depends on the camera you use and how it is setup. Once done properly you should be able to see a whole lot of something. Beyond 50-75 feet it can get pretty bad though, but then again, a color IP camera wont see anything at night either. -

Yes, been able to do that for years now with DVR systems. In fact you can do that with a $200 DVR.
