  1. Able1, how is the condensation problem, did it stay good after that?
  2. Hi, depends if that is dealer or retail price. We cant discuss dealer pricing here though, but for retail, I liked the eclipse, they would be approx $130 retail. So far I also tried COP-USA (rubbish) and also Nuvico (had issues with condensation INDOORS!) in that price range.

    GE DVMRe ct-16 Video Burner

Hi. never backed up using that myself, but you may want to look at other alternatives as well, such as monitor out from the DVR direct into a VCR, DVD Recorder, or even a Capture Card on a laptop (USB) or Internal on a Desktop. That way you then just playback what you want and click record on those devices, and it is the highest quality backup that you would get from the GE DVRs.

    License Plates / Vehicle info

I know, just wanted the chance to post those images again. Anyway, Scruit has done it, or is still doing it .. also there was another guy on the forum from Europe that used Bosch WDR camera and some IR that came out pretty good as well. maybe do a search for LPR or License Plate (search for all terms). Rory

    Webcam in Vista

Ok Thanks. also, can Geo add in a feature where a small jpeg is created for each camera, if the user wants to turn that feature on. I realize there is additional overhead as far as memory etc, but it then could be used for a Javascript browser based app, which could then work in Mac, etc. Similar to the old Java one that created Jpegs, but that seemed to only create the jpegs when an applet was connected to the DVR. Just wondering, for the non IE and Linux/Mac users. I know I could write a 3rd party app for that, as I already started last year, but its an additional program that would need to be running on the DVR and using its own server, and its not from Geo, which most clients wont want. Rory
  10. No, but you may need a remote control jeep with 4x4 and big knobby tires to get over all that "terrain" in the ceiling.

    Coming to America

    Nahh ..
  14. Sounds about right, was wondering what they meant, I imagine the seller just has 2 versions of the camera.
  15. Please run a Hijack This report and post it here so we can see what else is running. Thanks. http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/_download/HiJackThis.exe
  16. With other DVR cards, same thing, if you are using an application that effects the screen display or resolution, anything that changes it, then you go back to the DVR, the cameras will be blank (blue, pink, etc) - you will need to restart the DVR application. Basically, make any changes to the Screen Resolution before the DVR application is opened. Screen savers will also cause problems. Use a blank screen if anything. Make sure the power scheme is set to Always on. I assume this could be the same with Avermedia and may be your issue? Also, I have never used Vista for a DVR so there may be other issues related to the OS - very memory hungry OS and uses alot of graphics memory (eg. 8MB in idle on XP and 150mb in idle on Vista, based on using shared memory with onboard video Intel). Simply minimize and maximize should not cause a problem, unless there are driver/direct draw overlay issues.

    Coming to America

Thanks, checking it out now. Have basically called tons of hotels so far directly and havent found anything, will see what this search brings up.
  18. If you have the software it should come with the drivers? Otherwise, could try the BT Drivers and then look at something like Luxriot, but that software is not free either.
  19. There are push rods, then there is also this: Check out: http://www.greenlee.com/product/index.html Video:
  20. Heloder is a Kodicom goto guy on the forum, so he would know best. Not sure but you maybe able to use generic software, wont be as good as the Kodicom original software though. Also, since it had win98 on it, I imagine the PC maybe too slow to run XP as a DVR, might want to check that out and slap 98 back on if it is, dont want it running out of memory or using 100% CPU all the time until it ... crashed. Could also make up an Nlite stripped down version which would help on that slower PC though, but still might have memory issues with XP. Rory

    Coming to America

Going to Miami for medical reasons, so cant goto Cali. Anyway, been trying to get a hotel but its near impossible so may need to put it off until next week. There is a boat show in Miami Beach this weekend, places are full and or expensive right now.
  22. Also, a little bit of noise will be alot more noise when recorded, even moreso on some cheaper DVRs. Reason they cost much less is they dont spend the extra time the more expensive ones do on the extra features.
