Might be something wrong in the ViewLog ini file, run the Database Repair and that should fix it; use the repair all. Let us know.

Hi Guys, there are some requirements that have to be met to gain dealer access. To begin the application you will need to first contact the Admin, Larry: http://www.cctvforum.com/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=3 Thanks, Rory

One would think though, as far as privileges go, that if you can create a folder, you can also name it?

Thanks, yep thats what I meant

Ive seen that before, but the lux specs are the same as the GE KTC-2000EX model? 0.01 lux. At double the price, or more actually time as you add the 1/2" lens. Either way, neither will see in pitch dark, which is what the EX82 is for. Exview will see in near pitch dark, but the image is hardly ever useful for identification. That said I have used the Sanyo (just Day Night, no Exview) with the UF500 and that was great, but also had its draw backs, in the end the EX82 was just so much easier to install.

Not really, the lowest filter will give the greater IR, if only comparing the NM of identical Bulbs. So identical IR bulbs, the 730nm version would see more than the 850nm version, as there is more light, due to there being a smaller filter. As to the LEDs, the number of LEDs does not mean anything much, it is the size of the LEDs that matter. But in addition to that, the camera itself makes the world of difference. Its like having a 150' IR Bulb and a Color camera, great IR bulb but the color camera cant see the IR anyway; same goes for day night cameras, some handle IR better than others. For example, one with an IR Cut Filter (True Day Night) could have better IR sensitivity than a basic Color IR Camera (No IR Cut Filter), even with the same amount of IR LEDs.
-
Typically the same price. The difference is that the IR distance is less due to the increased filter.

Does it use Infrared? If it just slows the shutter then its not worth it IMO, video will be too slow. Also, is it a dual camera, separate BW for night? Just asking

Yep, Extreme CCTV uses Fujinon lenses also. Will take a look tonight again for the link. http://www.extremecctv.com/products_video.php?vid=37 http://www.extremecctv.com/products_video.php?filter=market&filter_id=9

Someone posted a link to a camera that does 20 megapixel before, I could not find it right now though, will try again later. It was setup at a sports stadium, wasnt bad, could digitally zoom right in on the people's faces. If you are looking for decent lenses, stick with Fujinon or Computar.

your thoughts/opinions/criticisms/ on this setup

I only know of the Altronix that does both voltages, but it is only 8 channels each, so yes in this case you would want a 16 channel 12 and a 4 channel 12. If you may be adding more 12VDC cameras at sometime then might want to bump that up to a 16 channel one time. -
for 200 Acres and what you want to do, Flir seems like the only option, think more in the $500k+ price tag for those features.
-
Their budget may be unlimited, until they see the price tag on the Flir Systems. Most countries cant even afford those. Also, hope that tower is very very tall.

were you upgrading the card too, or just the Geo software? Whats the DVR specs? What Geo software was on there before?

Only retail pricing please guys So a quality dome is essentially approx $500-800+, Retail. -
->>>> Video Resolution:320x240, 640x240, 640x480, 640x480sw The fact that it doesnt do 720x480 means either it is a very old card (came out before 7.0) or its a clone. All the Geo cards I have used (since 7.0 version) have a selection for 720x480. I rarely use 720x480 but still, it should support it. Not sure if the older cards ever did though. But if its that old, would be talking like 2+ years old.

Everything looks legit, does it come with a big fat user manual also? The CD looks legit, but you never know. Does he say what version software is on the CD? PS. I edited the link part.

Big problem with Alnet software - RESOLVED - Thanks Alnet!

I agree with Marcin on the Dells, same would apply to other DVR cards and other brand named PCs. I mean you can get some decent Dells, but typically most clients are not paying for the PC needed to run a DVR. For example, a decent PC in parts could cost approx $700 (plus you have to build it), while similar specs in a name branded PC would run easily around $1500-2000+ US, and IMO it will still not be as good as you are Dependant on their Bios and other hardware and drivers, in most cases. For example, if you were using a GeoVision card (even more heavily reliable on specific hardware requirements) and had issues, first thing I might say would be .. dude you got a Dell?? -
Another question when using the Panasonic, Samsung, Sanyo
rory replied to CSCOUT2001's topic in Security Cameras
this forum member claims his company makes some auto tracking domes out of Asia .. might want to check him out .. since there is such a lack of choices in this type of feature, might be worth testing a demo, if it is not that expensive. http://www.cctvforum.com/post-64407.html&highlight=#64407 -
Another question when using the Panasonic, Samsung, Sanyo
rory replied to CSCOUT2001's topic in Security Cameras
you could use any PTZ, then using the DVR, set up a preset, so when there is motion detection it zooms into that preset area, and hopefully, depending on the DVR, zooms back out after a certain amount of time after motion has finished. This will depend on the DVR though. Optionally setup actual motion detectors/beams at the locations, then tie them into the DVR using IO and use that to detect motion for the presets. I would just setup more fixed cameras though. Less moving electronics to go wrong. -
How about putting a WDR box camera in an indoor dome housing? http://www.videolarm.com/family_navigation.jsp?navigation=65

WDR Domes using the Pixim Chip http://www.pixim.com/html/prod_cameras_dome.htm

Well what I was getting was different. It would be moving video, then stop, moving video, then stop .. seemed much different than in the past. In my case, the GV250 might just be shot, or doesnt like the PC i built .. in my case I will just be happy if the 1480 works, then worry about the GV250 at another time. Will see what the 650 does.

Have you tried version 8.0 yet? Wondering if at least we could get them good on the newer GUI. Otherwise need to use my skinz program. I dont have the 250 here right now, will have to get it out of that DVR i built, but wont be until next week now.
