Axis/Panasonic for a basic home install?
rory replied to photys's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
F:2.8, though it claims 0.2 lux. Doesnt mention what kind of CCD it is. Seems like its designed for indoors mostly, since they dont show any outdoor images. -
# 7130 chip DVR Card Hardwares Requirements
rory replied to kangtree's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Hi Kangtree, whats the point of this post? -
Could be the Mux or the VCR .. i'd lean towards the Mux, since that seems to control the VCR in this case. Any special connections? What cable are you using, Coax or SVHS?

they all look like indoor cameras, going by the specs. -
Dunno, but Black Diamond is similar to what they have now, except it basically spreads the IR out wider is all.

Recommendations on 4 chan. standalone DVR w/ motion and WAN?
rory replied to kriznol's topic in Digital Video Recorders
oh yeah, if I remember correctly, though not typically a DVR I would recommend, the EverFocus 1600 (Cant remember the exact model) has a browser based java interface. -

Dont know, but if you didnt mind a PC based unit, I could recommend Video Insight, as they use Javascript so it will work in any web browser; no activeX and no java problems. Also GeoVision has the Java browser app. And there are others. Standalone without ActiveX may be hard to find. Also, the Eclipse Nubix is the Avtec so if they have that to demo same thing. -

They still use ActiveX last time I Checked. Wont work in Firefox either. -
If you cant expore the CD either, then chuck it and goto their website to download the drivers.

Sounds strange. I block the audio server myself on my PC and it doesnt give that error, only gave that error on PCs where I hadnt loaded the audio drivers, or they were not loaded correctly. I guess reinstall the OS (quick format) then try again. If you have another PC maybe try that card in that first.

Well Geo is a full DVR once you build it. But otherwise, guess what the 2 already mentioned above.

LOL .. hope its not a hard drive

Check Video Connections, and power them all locally, with a spot monitor at the camera. Unfortunately this means either going up to them by ladder or taking them down to check them, but in the long run it will save time.

if the audio is working (connect a speaker and test just incase if not already done) then should not get that error. What motherboard is it?
-
Second hand lenses can have problems (scratches, etc), I would buy some new lenses if anything. IR, cant comment as dont know the model. Camera itself should be fine, though its second hand so cant say.
-
are the audio drivers installed on the PC itself? You will get this message if no audio is present, such as in the case if the drivers were not installed for the audio which could be either onboard or PCI audio.

Burglary Alarm Company Sued by Murder Victim's Family
rory replied to scorpion's topic in Test Bench
true that .. my bad .. poor writing on the journalists side of it .,. confused me there for a minute .. so both of them are dead .. didnt catch that. Still, she is probably just looking for someone to blame .. venting frustration. The person that killed them is the one she should be suing. Also, the judge or court that let him free from the last crime he did. Maybe even his parents, or high school teacher .. see where Im going .. -
Burglary Alarm Company Sued by Murder Victim's Family
rory replied to scorpion's topic in Test Bench
2 different things all together .. Lets put it this way, the car cant stop without brakes, in other words the car is useless; however the people can live without an alarm. The alarm system wont stop a criminal, if anything it is only a deterrent. I would like to know what they expected to happen if it was working that way, I dont think the cops are that fast, and also, the victim had a loaded shot gun next to his bed, seems he was expecting something to happen perhaps? They are looking for somewhere to vent their frustration, bottom line is it probably could have been prevented, and that has nothing to do with the alarm system. Also, it seems the victims family are not the ones suing, just the girlfriend .. sounds fishy to me. -
Specifications for a DVR Card
rory replied to g_nitin12's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Since 3 manufacturers responded .... these are end users also, they dont know where to buy your products. I would suggest a nice advertising banner at the top of the forum, and also maybe get some of your distributors to join the forum so they can also join in the discussions http://www.cctvforum.com/advertise.php To Nutin, it appears you are an end user? Best thing is to browse the forum if you havent already (seeing as this is an old post). Even better thing to do is see what DVR Cards you have access to in your country, or where you can buy them from at least in the region. Once you get a list of those then go through the features and break down the ones you like. Come on the forum then and see what / if any response is to those as far as stability and quality. Being that you are in India, buying from the US, UK, Australia, or even Asia, is probably going to be very expensive, or at least not a good idea, due to the distance, time, and extra shipping costs incurred; especially in the case of a warranty.
