looks great on Monitors, but not through DVR
rory replied to CraigVM62's topic in General Digital Discussion
Ahh, ok thanks .. makes sense .. get rid of the ground .. -
I have another version of this now .. actually made it way back when .. but its a little different .. In this example I am working with CenterV2 8.1. Problem with CenterV2 is that in 1024 mode it will be full screen .. but you cant set the layout, there is no floating log, and therefore it automatically gets a log inside the main window .. so if I hide that I hide the whole program .. in 1280x1024 mode it lets you adjust the layout, with the floating log to the right .. but then you dont get full screen .. but i can hide the log as it is a floating window .. if you dont use the floating log (or set it to the bottom), then it is inside the main program window and the program is full screen, but I cant hide the log. So in the newer version I was toying with ... (lack of interest in it so I didnt post that one up here) ... this is a hack so to speak .. it resizes the user's screen to 1024x768 after CenterV2 has loaded. It waits in the background until you exit CenterV2 then it resizes the display back to the original resolution. 1-First CenterV2 would need to be set to 1280x1024 default layout and floating log to the right. 2-You run the program ... it "locks" down the PC; minimizes all existing windows, terminates Explorer.exe so you get no taskbar or desktop, disables Task Manager, Disables Certain Windows Keyboard Shortcuts. 3-It then loads CenterV2 4-It waits for CenterV2 to be loaded ... once loaded, it resizes the user's display to 1024x768, then it hides the floating log window. 5-It then waits ... when you close CenterV2 the program then restores everything and ends. This was created back in January of this year .. [edit - see new link may 27, 2011] Disclaimer: by using this program, you can not blame me for any problems encountered!! It deals with disabling CTL-ALT-DEL, and other keys .. as well as it kills explorer.exe while it is running. Use this at your own risk. All I can say is it works fine on my test machine. It doesnt put anything on start up, so in the unlikely event that you get locked out of everything, only solution is to restart the PC physically.

which version are you using, and what is your screen resolution? Rory

You mentioned a Via Motherboard, does it have a Via Chipset? Sometimes it will work fine, sometimes not, more times not though. Its best to always stick with an Intel Chipset. Could just be a bad card, or if the software is not legit you may also experience those issues (hacked drivers related to the DVR card hardware) -

VST, goto explorer, start to click through folders, back and forth. Watch as it will "hang" here and there, or lag. Now goto Sounds and turn of the Navigation Sound. It will be 100% faster, like it is supposed to be. Its a known problem with this Sound Max version right now on all boards, Asus or not, running XP. Some people may not notice it though, but I tweak XP to the max so I notice every little thing. Also the P5B-Deluxe has had terrible reviews from day one, ofcourse I didnt go looking for them until after i bought it and encountered all these issues. Many of those that are using seperate sounds cards will never notice the problem ofcourse, but to me that is just a bandaid and the board still is not worth it. As to the P5L-MX, thats a whole other story, but its a different Sound Max version. @Lolo, no nothing will fix it besides disabling the Navigation Sound, Disabling All Windows Sounds, or Disabling the onboard audio all together. Ive decided to dump Asus for right now due to these problems, and go with the GigaByte as they don't use Sound Max. When and if Sound Max [and Asus] ever get their problems soughted out, then I may look at Asus again. Its just too much money to have problems like this, and on multiple boards, and Im certainly not alone so its a manufacturer wide problem.

LOL .. now they dumb .. they had a guy here steal from a truck right in the alarm companies car park one day .. he walked up to the camera, I mean he was just right in front of it .. face clear as day, actually was still daylight .. though they havent caught him yet I dont think ..

im still looking for the high res .. would be perfect ... will see what I find .. also, once we find the manu we can then find out from them who retails/distributes the products.
-
Hey .. found it .. this has the exact same specs and is identical in its design .. as i matched it with one i just took out of a box here .. http://www.koreacctv.com/eng/product/product_view.php?ac_id=79&ai_id=12 BUT, they dont have it in high res Yeah these are so discreet and easy to mount too .. for the night club .. thats why I like them so much .. they kind of suck when there is alot of light .. but then its a nightclub and thats rare .. Seems the Koreans call these PIPE cameras instead of Bullet cameras .. so will keep searching for a high res one, a high res PIPE B/W camera ..
-
Hi Scorpion, I just noticed that ECL-377 is from Korea, so I will look around a bit .. be nice to have that in High Res also .. Also, i need some mini board cameras that are close or the same as that .. to put in some WizKid WZ30 Dome housings .. the cameras they came with suck big time, so much so I never mounted all of them ... and yes these are also for nightclubs The bullets are easier to mount IMO, though the vandal domes we wanted as people started to break up the bullet cameras! Thanks, sent INWT a PM Rory

that all depends on the clients though. .
-
Yep, also its only 510(H) x 492(V) effective pixels as opposed to the typical 811(H) x 508(V) with high res cameras.

How Much Upload Speed or Bandwidth Is Recommended For DVR?
rory replied to Gyro Gearloose's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Down here, the DSL business package for $99 a month only gives them 128 upload speed .. if they want something that matches the Cable Business Package (basic is $150 a month), they have to pay DSL $490 a month. So obviously we dont use DSL for remote video down here -

Can i use RG62 cable for cctv installations
rory replied to Kamei's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
It really varies, some people have decent results, some dont. Its just another obstacle to deal with, when there IS a problem with the Camera's Video. So best to use the correct cable the first time; if possible. If you cant get siamese, no worries, you can still buy RG59 Solid Copper Center and Outer Copper Braid, from most stores that sell wire, such as one that caters to Electricians. If you can find Copper RG6 then great -
Did you check your Regional and Language Settings in the Control Panel? English should be default. If you cant access the settings, see this page: http://www.pctools.com/guides/registry/detail/1215/ You can either set it to English, or just delete the approriate item and the key from the registry, reboot and it should be English again. Otherwise it is suggested to use the settings in the control panel. If it is set to English already, then thats a different issue. Make sure the Geo software is an original CD, so that the language settings on the CD has not been modified. BTW, if you can, check out V 8.12. Register and login at EzCCTV.com to download that. It has additional features like Remote View Log and System Idle Protection.
