No, was RemovePass .. not online anywhere.

i thought I found out where 8.0 keeps its passes but i was wrong .. anyone else know? Otherwise the fix I have is for versions earlier than 8.0.

take a look at the Extreme CCTV EX-82 for a great Day Night IR Camera ... up to 100+ of guarenteed Infrared, Dual Cameras (Seperate BW and Color cameras). Had them on a beach location now for 6 years. Not cheap though. DC i posted the link for you above.

what version software is it?

LOL @ gang busters .. I gotta remember that one Yep I like their DVRs for budget jobs .. cant beat them for the price. Dont know about their cameras though as never used them, but cant be any worse than other similar models

From what I saw though you cant customize which Geo Programs are on the Keylocks list and cant rename them.

Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the Geovision service to connect. Granted i have it installed on my main PC which is a 2.0 Ghz AMD with 512 DDR so its not super fast .. plus It loads other services etc on startup as its not a dedicated DVR (though I can still stream up to 64 cameras in my new LVG development) ... GV8.12 is just extra slow anyway, needs more memory and CPU than older versions .. particularly more memory actually .. even so .. it took too long to start up and does take a while even on a Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz with 2GB DDR2 .. It may have worked with GV 7.0 which loads much faster .. but since 8.0 the start up is extra demanding on the system. Dont try this at home kids! Now to remove the service

So it may be more of a heat issue then, since if Geo cards gets to hot they slow down performance. JD I dont know .. but having too many cards close to each other can also prevent some air flow I imagine. Any thing that gets too hot can slow down its performance though.
-
Because its too close to the AGP or PCI-e Video card. Someone once mentioned it was related to the available frames on the first slot, or something like that, though I would imagine all the PCI slots will run the same speeds. Either way, hardware has changed alot since then.

I imagine you will need to log off and back on as a seperate user to enter the Multicam GUI ... as for playback and such you should be able to run that separately and just login as usual. I think you can set it to interact with the desktop also though .. perhaps then it will show ... Hmmm .. lets see .. I have to reinstall the card first.

Problem is there is a minute or more when it is starting the computer, loading explorer, and the Multicam and all its other components .. one has time to do CTL-ALT-DEL and terminate the Geo Processes ... or just go into MSconfig really fast and make changes then restart .. Ofcourse one could just pull the plug also and take the hard drive out .. so anyway

i tested Geo in the bblean shell recently .. even better, no explorer .. no taskbar or desktop .. and i use my program to lock down the rest .. so boots right into the shell and Geo .. in other words .. you only see Geo. Wont go into details but you also disable the XP welcome screen. Anyway, only 1 issue occurred .. when you then open ViewLog, the Scaling Render setting is disabled by default ... you can renable it right away, but anyone have any ideas why that would occur? Maybe its starting up TOO fast for Geo?

Western Digital SE16 500GB and 750GB Drives are inexpensive now .. approx $100 for the 500GB and $200 for the 750's ... most PC retailers. Check it out .. I would only use the 250 16 for the OS drive now .. I would also look at buying it directly from the manufacturer, such as Western Digital's site, as it is packaged better for shipping, than when it is just thrown in bubble wrap at the top of the box with other PC parts. Ive had much better experience with the drives that came from the manu, but they did cost a little extra and took longer to arrive. And no, the 500GB's at least (since Ive used those) dont get hot at all. Cant speak for the 750's as I havent used them yet myself, but do plan to. BTW the 500GB translates to 465GB time as it is in windows XP, so expect 930GB from 2x500GB drives.

Problem With Infrared Remote Control Not Responding
rory replied to Gyro Gearloose's topic in General Digital Discussion
Not many DVRs have IR remotes to begin with, most that do are the budget DVRs, and well that could just be lack of proper coding on the manufacturer's part, or other hardware issues from inexpensive parts. Speco is also an OEM company, meaning they import [mostly] budget/unknown DVRs from manufacturers in Asia, to resell under their name. I used a couple of their DVRs and I would say they are perhaps worth half the cost distributors charge for them. They had some decent bullet cameras back in the day though. That said, have you tried testing the DVR and the IR Remote in either another room, or at another location? It should just be seeing the buttons pressed as keypresses .. like using a keyboard .. if it cant keep up with that . .. perhaps they are running a timer in the embedded software to check for the presses, and it is set too fast. Maybe they have too many in depth calculations in the timer, and it is hanging it up .. maybe some loops of such .. could be anything. -
looks great on Monitors, but not through DVR
rory replied to CraigVM62's topic in General Digital Discussion
I like the ABS plastic ones myself over metal .. But you should be able to find a plastic store somewhere, that cut plastic to any size and in various colors; we even have "one" here -

Or use plastic instead of wood in the future -
Louroe has weather resistant mics that are built as electric PVC gang boxes.

Open the case side and take out one of the cards .. post a photo of that so we can see what it is. Dont touch the circuits, and touch the bare metal of the case to ground yourself before taking the card out; or buy a cheap anti-static wrist band. Rory

Most DVRs today have Smart Motion Detection Recording .. meaning it will provide max amount of frames available to all cameras with active motion detection.
-
Dont know, I had to check one the other day, its less than a couple years old .. and has the 5400rpm drives ... unless they changed them on newer versions after that ...?

Anyone know how to automatically create composite images?
rory replied to SureVeillance's topic in System Design
the client is always low res .. i think its 320x240 .. -
As the title says, was in a clients home in central AC 24/7, 1 for one year, the other for maybe 2 years tops. Both work well. Were replaced with DVRs. Both worked at the time of replacement. Tested one of them today and works like new. I may keep one for testing, but open to options, incase anyone needs 2 of them. Just thought I would throw it out here incase anyone else needs one. Also available, 1x DSR-1000e. (single channel DVR with LAN, 160GB HDD, 60pps). make an offer, buyer pays shipping .. from the Bahamas .. yeah I know .. sorry thats where i live I can put them online with the single channel DVR as a demo if anyone is interested in them. Rory ------------------- INFO ----------------- The CBR-16eZ is ideal for stand alone applications that require quick and easy installation and operation. Along with ease of use, the CBR-16eZ offers exceptional live monitoring and multiscreen live and playback display. Cameras can be viewed in any of three different multiscreen formats while full resolution pictures from all cameras are sent to a recorder. Patented Parallel Video Processing (PVP) outputs up to 60/50 (NTSC/PAL) pictures per second to your monitor and delivers closer to real-time display than conventional multiplexers. VEXT automatically optimizes multiplexer/recorder synchronization and prevents loss of critical pictures regardless of record speed or how often record speeds change

Thats for the really basic passive baluns though, for something decent it is going to cost much more. However, if you can come up with a cheap alternative to something like the active NVT gear .. im sure many here would buy them BTW, FM-Systems manufactures alot of parts like that, might want to check them out also.
