    Help Finding manufacturer of dvr

I dont modify Dahua's actual software but I use their SDK to create my own. Or in some cases I just modify their SDK demos which is permitted. PSS is now 4.05. Check my Dahua Downloads page for all the manufacturer software My custom software is under Dahua Software.

    HDMI (format not supported)????????

Generally no but it depends on the laptop. Normally that is just a VGA output.
  4. no problem I got my hands on a remote Win 64 bit system until monday so will be testing and fixing that skins app also .. going to see if I can let it stay on for a few days to run alot of tests, at least until i get a big job to buy my own win7 64bit test pc ... check the tests on my site also in the dahua support area, things i dont put on the main site until or if it ever goes anywhere .. its in the support section. latest one is something right now i call "mini PSS".

    Help Finding manufacturer of dvr

Yeah Dahua is D1 7fps all channels, or D1 30 fps all channels on the Full D1 units. Also Dahua non Full D1 units just have the first of every 8 channels at D1 30fps and the rest in CIF. No not Avermedia, everything is literally like Dahua as far as the setup goes its just like a different skin, so its chinese for certain. Check my software for dahua on my site and see if it connects.

    HDMI (format not supported)????????

monitor is probably max 1024x768 and the DVR is set to 1280x1024 You need to hook it up to a newer/larger monitor like a 17" and then change the size on the DVR to 1024x768 then hook it back up to the other monitor.
  8. try this .. http://www.bahamassecurity.com/psssw.zip put it in the PSS path and then run that instead of PSS eg. right click send to desktop to create shortcut on desktop you can contact me through my site if you like.

  11. if you get video at the camera and its powered back at the DVR end then its likely bad cable/connectors between the camera and the DVR end. and that must be 650ma right? Otherwise id love to get my hands on that magic camera

What do you think of this camera?

the specs seem fine. Only thing I question is the lens not being 2.8-11mm but then using the 4-9mm probably brought the price down a little, and no dual voltage but again in lower priced cameras it will normally just be 12VDC anyway. Also it doesnt seem to have an IR cut filter so colors may be off especially under sunlight, fine for low priority areas, or if one doesnt mind the freaky colors in the day outside.
  16. Also with higher resolution comes less visibility at night.

    Help Finding manufacturer of dvr

They must use the same boards and programmer LOL or they buy from dahua and just customize them. I looked through the manual of one of the DVRs and its almost identical to Dahua except its like a different skin, all the same settings, some boxes just moved around and some words a little different but otherwise same settings.

    Help choosing some cameras ...please

Alot of weatherpoof housings use that type of latch, it normally has a rubber seal and you have to push down hard to latch it. I have some Samsung housings (2 latches) similar to that, held up the entire summer with all the thunderstorms and hurricane even, nice housings for only $35
  19. Hows that? Analog wins in low light and cost. If those are the apps you are after, then Analog would be "superior" Everything has network software and has for years, analog or Ip no different in that regard except with IP camera you are connecting direct to the camera.

Newbie needs a lot of help...

Thats not completely correct. There is a plugin called IE Tabs for Chrome and FF which let you run ActiveX inside those browsers. Additionally an ActiveX control can be used in most Windows Programs. I use them all the time in programming, in many cases they are all that is available in the SDK from a manufacturer, plus they make development quicker. We also create our own ActiveX controls and they are definitely crreated for use in a Web browser. Simply ActiveX controls make it east to reuse code between apps that require some kind of object, eg. Command Buttons, or in most of my cases, Video windows. ActiveX controls used in programs for video .. the CNB/Indigo DVRs X-IRS / Argus ActiveX ActiveX from GE for GE/Kalatel DVRs GeoVision ActiveX controls even works in Linux...

    smtp email notifications?

they have moved their call centres over to india... i'd have better luck talking to a wall... yeah just remembered my ISP blocks all outgoing connections through port 25. you can use the server test on this site to check it though. http://www.websitepulse.com/help/tools.php other SMTP servers on this side of the globe are fine but your hostname does not even resolve.

    smtp email notifications?

According to this http://help.orange.co.uk/orangeuk/support/personal/231637 Thats the correct SMTP server and the port is 25

    smtp email notifications?

normally you would enter the smtp server name, eg. smtp.orangehome.co.uk You can also use the IP if you want, once its not dynamic (rare). However I tried telnet to that SMTP server and port 25 and its a no go. Check with your ISP on the correct SMTP server name and port number to use. for the email address use the one you want it to send alerts to.
