TIP: Extreme CCTV EX82 and Distributed Power Supply
rory replied to rory's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
If you can find them, sure, for the Pro cameras. For the bullets I dont think its really worth it. Probably only for 24VAC also. The Isolated power supply above had to be special ordered as the distributor only had the regular one. Rory -
TIP: Extreme CCTV EX82 and Distributed Power Supply
rory posted a topic in Installation Help and Accessories
If you are going to use these Cameras, with 24VAC, and you will be using a Distributed (multi channel) Power supply, make sure you purchase an ISOLATED Distributed Power Supply. Otherwise you may experience horizontal lines and other issues. If you use separate transformers there is no need for it as they are already isolated. The Correct Distributed Power Supply Model I just recently used on a job with 11 EX82's was the Altronix ALTV2416ULI3. The previous ALTV2416600UL3 will not work for these cameras. Rory -
Hey, i have an AMD PC here But yeah for the DVR cards and new home PCs, i just stick to Intel chipsets now .. however, I do use ATI Video cards, which is AMD anyways
-
have you tried all 1's ..? Do you know the model of the DVR? If not, can you take a picture of it?
-
If you do swap the motherboard, this is one Ive been using that works well for the combo cards also, its a Micro ATX and you can use the onboard video if needed. You would need an Intel 775 CPU though, however slower than the AMD one mentioned, the P4 3.2 and even the PD 3.2 are both under $100 now, otherwise the Core 2 Duo 2.4 would be in the $200 range. Memory would be the same as you already have. http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=194&model=1320&modelmenu=1

What is the motherboard model? If it has onboard video, maybe use that instead of the video card just to test. Ive used onboard video with the 1120 before without issues, but it has to be something like the Intel 950. EDIT. see that it is a Dell with : NForce 430 chipset with the AM2 socket I would suggest a Motherboard with an Intel Chipset. Had a Via chipset with the 800 working for a few days then started to have problems, so more than likely that is the problem. SIS works okay sometimes also, but to be certain you would need an Intel chipset.

Hi, please post the complete PC specs, including the OS version and Geo Software Version. Also, does the PC crash without the Geo card in? Thanks
-
Nah man it's all good. Specs are fine, thanks again. Rory

its activeX, easiest thing to do is just add the server to the IE trusted sites list. It needs IE by the way. There is also a client software, this can be downloaded from the browser web page also.

Thanks Nope, no school, just trial and error, and 2 hours a night sleep for several years. -
Hi, click on Profile at the top, and look for a text box that says Location. Enter your location there.
-
after cloning (same desktop on each monitor) did you restart the PC? Also, are you using the latest drivers from ATI's site?

rory replied to Ubon94's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Yes there are a ton of them, as it is an active X, but to get all the public functions you need the version 7.0 activeX (which will also view 8.xx versions) or the 8.0 SDK. Even without that, the standard one has some public functions. Simple example of a single ActiveX stream: <- to be able to set width and height below <- to autologin <- to set the width <-to set the height <- to be able to set user and pass below <- to set the user name <- to set the password <- to set whether it auto reconnects or not (eg. for a demo server that disconnects) example .. http://www.bahamassecurity.com/webcam/ tip: click the camera 1 button at the bottom to get audio to help make it easier .. here is a single stream: http://www.bahamassecurity.com/webcam/asp/stream.htm just do view source to see the code. -
You need to "clone" the desktop in the ATI software if you havent already done so.

yeah just a different lens ... you can switch them out your self also if you wanted .. i got small boxes of fixed lenses here ... 2.5mm, 4mm, 6mm .. they can fit on fixed lens bullet cameras, board cameras, domes etc .. they probably just bought different versions to sell.

I would like to know the weather rating, and also the effective pixels .. looks pretty neat .. really small too. Im wondering if it would work outdoors such as at a door.

an AvTech Sales Rep from taiwan use to be on this forum, he still comes by every so often as far as I know .. wonder if he will stop by this thread .. as I would like to know when they will be upgrading the remote video software for them .. its okay and all but when you change a camera on the remote viewer, it changes it on the DVR, same with multi views, and the quality in 16 channel is not great at all .. single camera is fine though. Also it does do FTP and email on event, which is great for such an inexpensive DVR ... we have a review or a couple of them on the forum Re: AvTech DVRs ... mostly to do with the Remote Video Software though which interests me greatly. For the price though its such a great buy.
