    Any Installers in Mont Alabama?

nah, need someone to empty my sewar though, and take care of the rodent problem .. tings slow in the CCTV area ... just doing PC work now and back into the software ... but if you do decide to fly over, holla yah hear ..!
  3. unless you know how to fix it and have alot of time on your hands .. 2nd hand camera .. IMO .. get a new one. I dont think you can just buy the board, but incase, what model is the camera? I can check with a GE contact and see what they say.
  4. have you tried individual power supplies, as the cameras may require an isolated power supply.

    DVR Integration

Why do you want it to run as a service?

Well there is 640x480, and 640x480 deinterlaced, i use the 640x480 deinterlaced to get rid of the lines on moving objects. Which other deinterlaced option are we talking about?

I cant put in a DVR without enabling Deinterlace Rendering, as there are lines, and the client doesnt want to see that ..

Which Video Cards are you using? Quality shouldnt be much of a difference at all actually, only real difference should be the lines in the moving objects.

Which codec were you using? Was the dsp feature enabled? What type of video card was it? that second image looks like direct draw overlay is not working or enabled. With the Geo Combo cards, if using the DSP feature, you loose Direct Draw Overlay feature (on the live video only I thought?). Just leave the DSP feature disabled, and you can still use the DSP video out as a clone of the live video view.

    Defacto DVR?

it depends on your cost. hoho~~ many mjpeg ones are very cheap,we have one 4ch standalone sells only 95$...it works well. but we also have other h.264 hardware ones, cost is over 450$... Different applications can get different solutions. you know... How do i go about getting the $0 DVR on your site
  11. weatherproof PVC single gang box (only need a single for 1 camera, in fact 2 cameras can fit in one single). Buy it at the local electrical store. http://images.orgill.com/200x200/6910186.jpg Drill a hole and pull the wire through that, and put the box over that hole matching the holes up, and bring the wire into the box. Mount the camera on the side or near it, if you can hide the camera cable even better. Bring the camera cable into the box, and make connections. Using Bullet cameras is already a budget job, just make the best out of it. Ive also mounted the camera to the box before, didnt like it, and havent done it since; to get into the box, you have to basically move the camera, which sucks for maintenance issues. Another thing you could do, depending on the size of the bullet cameras, is cut the camera cable inside the bullet, then splice in your own cable, or if it uses standard screw type terminals inside the camera (not soldered as many are) then replace it with a longer cable. Depends how well versed you are with the camera though, as you could end up damaging it somehow. This would essentially do away with the need for the box on the wall, though unless you splice in the Siamese cable, you still need somewhere to tie the 2 connections together. I'd go with the first mentioned method myself.

    GEOVION TOOK OVER MY DESKTOP

Hi, can you access the Geo Power button, bottom left? If you can, click on that and it will pop up a menu which will let you minimize it, once you are logged in with Geo's admin privileges.
  14. You cant reset ... as it would just reset to the one you uploaded. If you can get into it via LAN then you may be able to upload a new bin to it, but if not, only suggestion I can offer is to call GE, they will most likely recommend you send it back to them to fix. Did you upload an entirely new bin file or just do some updates? Rory

De-interlace recording should be smooth, what Video card are you using? Without it, there will be lines on moving objects.

Core 2 Duo 2.67, or the Quad Core (much more $$) for closest you will get to 16 channels at D1 recording, using h.264. Or you could try the hardware compression cards, GV2008x2.

    Installing Bullet Cameras Outdoors

the only way would be to use a Vandal Dome, and run the wires right up into the attic. But then you dont get the play you do with the bullet, and the install is typically more work and the product more expensive. Also, I dont put the gang box in the attic, I put it on the wall, eave, or somewhere close, so there is access in the case of maintenance. In the case of bullet and box cameras in housings or not, cutting the wire is not the only way to disable them. So dont worry, cover them at all angles, or of you cant, go higher, or if thats not possible, then use cheaper cameras that wont matter if they get stolen. Also note the higher you go, the less FOV you will get. Either way, any camera can be disabled using a simple paint gun or even some of them, just a hose with water. So do it the best you can and make it look good, make the image look great, and thats what counts.

    Running pipe sucks

Dont know about that, can you imagine an old haitian lady (or any old maid) out there laying conduit and operating them blow torches .. The alcholics that painted my apartment also did the tile, needless to say the tile didnt come out great That wouldn't be too Cool.. Thats what you get when you hire drunks to do work for you.. You prolly gave them liquor and told them if they do a good job they'll get a few 6 packs nah the landlord hired them, someone they knew recommended the contractor who ended up smoking half the time, and running BS by me about how they were doing this and that, while the drunks were doing the work ...!
