You're lucky, you got the Spanish English firmware, other languages are normally not mixed together. I had that one when it came out as a test ... but now the official version is out its only English for us on this side of the globe .

You will likely need a firmware update.

  5. One would think activeX would be disabled but every big biz I goto these days they have it enabled for remote support. Crazy stuff but cant talk them out of it, their IT guys apparently know better
  6. With that when I goto live view for that camera I get: Please install JRE and enable Java applet plugin. Please install Java I do have Java ofcourse, just not the version they use.
  7. Are you using your ISP's SMTP server? Alot of ISPs block port 25 and then you would need to put their server in the settings.
  8. not a whole lot, neither of them knew what were doing when they wrote those as the specs.

still use Compass Downloader to this day, infact they still want you to use their serial modem, but went around them and now we use a special USB modem plugged into an iMac running XP
  16. sounds like you need something even more basic like Javascript.
  17. How about running the viewer off a jump drive? A portable version.
  18. Problem is the same issue arises with Java in many cases where there are so many variations of Windows OS out there now, some just dont have Java updated and requires a further download.
  19. Not without the client software, the browser is for the DVR IP you connect to in the browser. Why not use the client software?
  20. BTW you can use IE tabs in Chrome and Firefox. http://www.chromeextensions.org/utilities/ie-tab/ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ie-tab-plus-ff-36/
  21. dahua is coming out with webviewer 3.0 which works in Safari on Mac so ... maybe they are moving away from activeX. .. dont know for sure yet.

I don't disagree. I used to be a fan, it used to be good stuff. The Casi stuff is still solid, but it's never been updated and everything has surpassed it. Very limited applications now where a micro/5 is equal or better than something else, and with fcwnx it never is. Their reps always touted their first NVR's as "ooh, look at our linux stuff". There was a time when it was top notch, 5-6 years ago it was still competitive, its now pretty far down there in my opinion. I've done around 5 major casi systems over the past 5 years and the decline in quality and support has been massive. Doubt I'll ever do another GE CCTV System, but UTC might bring them back around. Yeah their progress has been slow or next to none after those. I dont use them anymore. Reminds me of the Compass Downloader for Ademco .. Thing is a 16 bit app from Windows 95 days .. still being distributed ..
