is he okay BTW? Doesnt look like a young guy ... they need to put a good beating on that other guy ..

Yes, I realize that, but you still feel the IR light on your eyes and look away before it ultimately blinds you Course its never a good idea to look directly at a 100+' IR light ...

he needs to switch from a broom to a machete!

There's a greater likelihood of getting eye damage from the sun .... Even the UF500's, the real powerful ones, they do put a strain on the eyes, but otherwise they are okay ... personally I always wore shades around those anyway ... The smaller IRs wont effect your eyes at all ... apparently ..

Well you need to find out what part is getting hot, as heat can cause fire.

best looking outdoor housings
rory replied to acableconnection's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Pelco have issues, I painted housings black without any problems, and thats down here in the tropical sun ... Also notice that most of Extreme's camera housings are black, though they have a white one available now in at least a couple models. Use white if you can, if not, black should not make much of a difference once its a decent housing and camera. It will get hot, but not enough to damage the camera, 6+ years and cameras going strong. -
The cameras should not get that hot, not even inside a sealed enclosure and in tropical sunshine like down here. Take a camera out and carry it back to the office, test it there, if it is still hot to touch to burn you, I would suggest returning them to the manufacturer, or at least not using the others until they figure out why they are getting so hot. It doesnt sound like a housing problem.

The best and only suggested method is to adjust the Infrared at night. If one is installing a day night application, regardless of Infrared, but even more so with Infrared, they must be there at night also to make adjustments. Without night time setup, the installation will never actually be completed, regardless of the installers opinion on that.

just need an RCA cable .. you can get them from any electronic store ... you may already have one lying around from a digital camera or other device .. then you can use the BNC-MALE to RCA-FEMALE Adapter ... Or for higher quality use Coax (RG59 Copper in and out, solid center) and use a BNC-FEMALE to RCA-MALE ... Better yet, depends on the camera, if it has S-VHs out .. use that for even higher quality. You would simpy need the S-Vhs cable. RCA cable is pretty much the most common method though.

Yes, use the A/V input such as RCA, and get an BNC-RCA Adapter.

who wants to sell me a geo 16ch dvr?
rory replied to acableconnection's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Are you sure you want your email all over google? You can just ask them to PM you which would be best. Also, the advertisers here sell Geo cards. Rory -
yeah it will be a f:1.4-1.6 anyway for a 5-50mm lens.
-
Yes quite a difference, but it depends on the cameras sensitivity also. And actually i would look at the fujinon f:0.95 lens for a low light color app.
-
nope, but sounds like a kmart card

Hi Resolution IP Cameras
rory replied to dennisdil's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I completely understand that. I looked over the specs of the Panasonic and see it only does 15fps @640x480. The Toshiba does 30@ 640x480. It also does 1280x960, but at only 7.5fps. The Axis PTZ IP still only does 640x480 @30fps and that is $300 more than the Toshiba. Sounds as you are talking in the over $2k range. I havent looked at the specs, but dont be surprised if some of those are only CMOS also .. where CMOS is not good for low light apps. However CMOS can actually cost more these days .. which is even stranger ..
