Dont put low voltage in the same conduit/junction boxes as high voltage, especially not Video. Keep the wiring and other video hardware at least 1' away from high voltage.

Man I wish Geo would upgrade their InstallShield .. Ive had so many errors trying to get my Auto Install EXE working with it.. From what I can see it is InstallShield version 3.0 and InstallShield are on version 12 right now .. They have the version from Stirling Inc which by the looks of it was bought by the current Company, MacroVision. Also any searches on google for Sterling Inc and InstallShield go as far back as Windows 95! Basically the setup program for v8.1 (probably earlier versions also) is unstable and the Geo Management Department should know of this, also the Release Engineers took out all the other switches, though due to the age of it, it may have not had any switches back then to begin with! I realise they are not using .Net and this may be a reason for not upgrading to the newer version, but they could always choose another installer packager such as Wise, Nullsoft, etc if thats the case. Its really sad actually, they put all the time into making the program stable, yet the setup is rubbish. BTW the uninstaller switches work fine. Rant over .. PS. here is a Geo Remover EXE i put together yesterday .. http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=7608 Helps clean the system a little before Re-installation.

thats the thing too, the cameras should always be setup and tested at your location before taken to the client, as there is no way to know whether or not you got a dud until it is hooked up and running.

Source for less than 1000FT RG59 Siamese cable?

solder it if you can ... if not should still be fine, but make sure it is not exposed, other wise over the years it can still get coroded. However Ive not actually had any issues myself with that. -
true .. yep IR also hurts the eyes at least the UF500's i dealt with in the past .. check this IR out .. totally pitch dark the entire driveway .. the IR actually goes out to around 500 feet at 10 degrees beam with 850nm ... if you stand in front of the IR within 3 feet for more than a few seconds, it burns your skin Solarized/Negative image Another IR setup.. once again pitch dark .. really hurts the eyes when adjusting in the dark ..

if you dont get it resolved by this weekend let me know.

why dont you just change the skin ini files to polish ..

Still doesn't mean it is as sensitive to the IR as other cameras though .. but im surprised it picks up 900+ IR .. i wonder if it picks up 1100nm range though.. The KT&C's are probably like the other higher quality OEM domes Ive used out of South Korea .. they were okay but still dont match brands like Sanyo, GE, Panasonic, etc. and definitely not Extreme's higher priced (not bullets) IR cameras. Depends what kind of cost they are, as what you pay for the Sony Chip will decide what kind of sensitivity you get under low lighting and IR. There are many variations of Sony Chips of the same type, and their capabilities are determined by their cost. PS. do you see a white bulb or red bulb on the IR Remote?
-
Its not designed for Windows Vista. Its a different OS from XP and so you will get errors. Honestly I don't see them making it available for Vista due to the expense of the hardware required to run Vista at any decent speed, at least not for quite a while yet.

Most buy from Asia, either direct or from distributors in their country (eg. the US). Alibaba is good place to start looking for distros and manufacturers.
-
You can even find some Sony Modules with 1.6" Chips.
-
If you see the red IR light on the remote control, then it is not invisible IR.
-
Closest place you can to where you reside, due to the weight. There are many online stores also, just make sure it is not cheap cable, that tends to be the bad stuff sometimes. Optionally the forum's advertisers (the online stores) will be able to provide it also.

what im saying is I already capture those keys in my program, and right now using those keys they perform those tasks listed, so basically it already works if using a keyboard, now i just need an IR Remote that sends those keys like you are using a keyboard ... sounds like the Geo remote will do it .. I need to get one and test it ... if it is just sending keys then I can make a simple program to capture each one and tell me which key matches which button ..

Hi Dont use RG6, get a roll of Siamese RG59 / 18awg Cable. This will be Coax Copper in and out and solid center, and it should have at least 18 gauge power cable. The better cable is not in the same jacket (as some are), but instead 2 cables joined together (true Siamese). Good luck. Rory

I would direct splice (cable to cable) as opposed to using connectors in between. But i would only splice in a junction box where it is accessible. -
With PayPal you can link a bank account(s) to your account so that you can electronically transfer money from your bank to your PayPal Acct. Then the theif can send themselves all the money they transferred out of your bank account and the existing money in your PayPal account to themselves. I have had my account locked before because I called and told PayPal that I received some phoney emails. I was very nervous to say the least. Now after reading this thread I decided to take out most of the money. But if someone gains access to my account, they can transfer the money right back out of my linked bank account and still rip me off. The idea of having a sepearate bank account for funding your PayPal account is a good idea. Don't link to your life savings account. My bank wont send money like that though, I can tranfer to my bank but only manually .. but I use a different type of bank (credit union), plus I dont have a social security number. .. maybe that makes a difference? To transfer money from my bank to another bank or anywhere actually, its a whole bunch of things I have to go through .. forms etc. I dont leave any money in there anyway, cant afford to.
