    Geovision Standalone

i know they have a couple embedded XP versions .. these are regular PCs though .. one is a mini PC with a 200 watt PSU .. I havent seen an actual standalone with buttons built onto the case though it may be. BTW the bold tag doesn't work on Subjects.
  2. not currently, but after i add the multisite feature i'll work on the remote admin, then the remote playback .. Note though that it is not yet fully tested with 8.1 .. and may require some minor changes. Versions 6.0-8.0 are fine though. Its free to try though ..

    VNC vs. RDP vs. ?

I already mentioned on another thread port 443 and 80 are open for the Installed Logmein server software, and doesn't seem like there is a way to change those ports.

anybody else having problems with Paypal?

LOL .. i keep my cash under my pillow .. But how can they take money from your bank to pay something? Or do you have money in the paypal account already? I know my bank wont just release any funds no matter what. Even when i receive funds it takes a week to transfer it.

    back focusing a cctv camera

Here is an interesting thread from a year ago. http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=3492
  6. yeah they do .. ive used it before (well a friend used it and I watched) it was the first PC card i used .. their Pocket PC software is actually decent.
  7. they didn't give me anything to sync it with .. oh well BTW i've never used a pocket PC before as you can tell ..
  8. Dont laugh but I tried to get GView on a pocket PC someone gave me and the pocket PC wont accept .exe files .. am i missing something? I havent had any more time to mess with it since the initial download and test but no other exe's would work on the pocket PC also .. its Pocket PC 2003, and an Ipaq. It only accepts Cab files .. also ActiveX or Java will not work .. Rory
  9. I would look at Geo Again, the newer hardware compression cards, the loop out card, the multi quad card, etc .. Dont know if you are usinga much older version or not, at home? Also, if Intellix was good enough for them, they will be impressed with Geo. You could even customize it so it doesnt say Geo. Otherwise, if you do choose another card, there are many, Video Insight comes to mind, if they dont have loop out cards you could use anything from a quad to a mux. Choose a decent mux though like the GE muxes, not an OEM no name. IMO Honeywell Video is extremely overpriced South Korean gear (the prev Ademco video), I'd stay clear of them.
  10. actually alot of them say Sony on the outside also, Sony CCD, etc .. Some resellers don't know the difference also. I would goto Sony's site and check if its a sony camera first .. but basically they don't make bullet cameras, for example.
  11. Well for Vista, I think you will need to buy a different PC right? When I get a copy of vista I'll try out an Nlite skimmed down version, But i think XP is slow as it is for a DVR, unless its tweaked right out .. not sure how much they will let us Tweak Vista yet though .. As to the phone, we dont have that technology here yet.
  12. Did you get this yet? It should be in the GV 8.1 Local Install folder .. not sure which one but thats where it installs it from .. they're using these guys for the Keyboard, so maybe for the IR Remote also? http://www.prolific.com.tw/eng/downloads.asp?ID=31
  13. Sounds interesting .. i dont have one of the IR Remotes here to test but looks like it may do it .. all I need is a few keys.. 1-Camera Setup 2-Ethernet Setup 3-Logout (to shell) 4-Logoff Windows 5-Restart Windows 6-Shutdown Windows Currently I have the programmed to the F7-F12 keys .. But i can change that easily. If this works then actually I would also be able to do some multi view keys also .. though this wasnt going to be designed for much of any user interaction, it may be worth it. So essentially it is acting like the keyboard right? If so then it will work perfectly as thats what I need. thanks Rory
  14. Hi, I dont need software, I just need an IR Remote that works like a keyboard, as I need to be able to hook the Function keys for my own software .. thanks
  15. Hi Schwazche Its for Windows XP only, sorry ... Actually that said it will work on ME and Vista, but gives an error on start up, but works after that error. I only develop it for XP currently though. Rory

    VNC vs. RDP vs. ?

Actually most of us would be using Ultra VNC .. whichever the latest version is .. also change the default port.
  17. ahh i looked at them, not IP systems .. Generic OEM DvRs .. oh well ill have to let them know ..
  18. has anyone ever heard of this product, someone has it on a quote for an IP system .. cant find it on google though. thanks Rory
  19. thanks, yep seems like it. Any ideas on how the system is? They dont have much info on it, just that they are trying to add some Sony IP cameras to it, Ive asked them to also get me the Sony camera models, and TX and RX info as its also a wireless install. . Thanks Rory

Geovision compatible with nVidia 680 chipset?

Hi, I dont know too much about NVidia, so Cant comment on that card, but i know the 6200 didnt work with Geo. Are you looking to buy this card, or is it one you already have? If its to buy a card, I would look for ATI to be certain.
