Well they're both color cameras. The Sony is slightly lower lux, and overall a better camera from the specs. Personally Id go with a Ganz or a GE, if all you need is a color box camera (no day night?).

you wont find a 16 channel card that doess 30fps on all 16 cameras either .. at least not in 640x480.

Hi and welcome, sorry no links to online stores here, but i replaced it with the manufacturers link. Anyways, Sanyo is generally a decent brand, that camera is a low resolution one though, their most basic model. I dont think any dealers sell that model due to the low resolution, but it should be okay. We typically use Box cameras for high res applications, wide dynamic, etc. For the budget jobs its typically Bullet cameras. Rory

Yeah they tend to be "very" slow these days ... PS. remember to stay clear of the WizKids ..

https://secure.btcbahamas.com/vibe/info/offer.php basically VOIP is illegal here in the Bahamas, but everyone uses Skype and Vonage anyway, as long distance prices are outrageous here (4 times+ the cost of long distance in other countries). Also, BTC is the government monopoly Telco company. Just wondering if anyone has seen this hardware anywhere before? They must be using a gateway like Skype and Vonage somehow .. perhaps they only offer the US,Canada, Switz and UK as thats the only 4 places they are running the VOIP software right now? Rory

yeah that camera wont see much also without alot of light .. then there is the lens ... yeah a 2.8-12mm Fujinon Day Night would be better, but first you need to deal with the camera. And the DVR might not be any good for that application also .. need a model number.

Boy, $30 though, man i wish thats all we ever got ripped out of over the years, got $1000 in cameras from WizKid right now which we sent back as they were useless cameras, said they would need to upgrade them for another $1000 .. so right now stuck with no cameras and out of $1000 ... and gotta pay another $1000 for something we could have just bought from Ganz for $1000 ...
