can you trace the cable to make sure it is all at least 1 foot away from any high voltage .. ? Also are the cameras set to AI or EI? Switch them to the opposite and see what happens. If its doing this in AI and in EI its fine, then the lens iris has an issue, if its the other way around then the Electronic Iris in the camera is the issue.

i usually just make the OS a 10Gb partition .. Fat32 ..and the rest NT .

Hmmm, well they are OEM cameras so more than likely you will need to replace them ... maybe order a GE, Ganz, Sanyo, or Bosch and see how that camera works there .. Ganz and Sanyo would be the least expensive in a good brand .. just get a single one to test .. Also, have you tried one of the 2 cameras that are working, in the same location?

Hi, no.. sought of .. they have IR built in, among many other features that cut out everything else but the licence plate ... they are a plug and play solution. They're used around the world now in places like London, Las Vegas, and many more places, Extreme is used by the Military and Nato around the globe.

I dont know about the cams being high resolution because the only way 4 cams fit into the covert GE smoke dector is if you use their low res cams that are about 1.25 inches deep. If you use the good high res cams that come with the upgrade kit,[sD-1500] the size is more like twice as deep with the lense. Because of that you will only be able to fit 2 cams into the smoke dector housing. Your supposed to be able to fit 4 sideways and 1 down for a 360 degree view, but no way with any decent cams. The housing at its smallest diameter is only 3.5 inches. I quess nobody really cared whether it worked well or not. I used it with one high res camera and there seemed to be enough room to add another 3.. sideway cameras anyway .. besides i think you can just buy it with the 3 or 4 sideway cameras one time and then dont have to worry about that .. (edit: maybe not, dont really know 100%) Its not a big seller though in fact id only look at it if someone actually asked for a high res smoke camera, cause they are just so expensive .. may get into making our own ... they are very large smokes actually (Compared to the ones we normally use for alarms) so the housing itself is not bad .. i dont particularly like the grill though .. anyway the motions are sweet ..

This is a question you will need to ask GeoVision, or try yourself, most resellers arent going to mess with the chip on the card. Though i doubt it will damage the card, probably just wont work. -
With Covert Cosmetics comes first unfortunately, and the most cosmectic arent always the best price .. Anyway, if you are interested in high res and cosmetics GE has a smoke detector camera with up to 4 internal high resolution cameras. They have the best motion ive seen yet, cosmectic wise and also fully functional Sentrol Guts, but the image quality isnt that great .. its still good, just not "great" .. Otherwise there are thousands of OEMs out there with low to high res motions, smokes, and clock single cameras.

Flex Conduit... and if you want it somewhat armored then steel or metal flex conduit, should be able to pick it up from local electrical stores. . http://www.alliedtube.com/electrical-raceways/conduit/flexible-metal-conduit-ew.asp http://www.alliedtube.com/electrical-raceways/conduit/flexible-metal-conduit-afc.asp -

Camera's Dirty ...

Yes you see the LEDs, the 598HIm is the one i was talking about. You need 900+nm IR for it to be invisible, would need high end Infrared at that point (big$$ ExtremeCCTV). Motion Detector was just an idea instead of the clock, plus then you can get a real motion detector which is better than video motion ...

If its outside in the sun light and a black housing, it will fry .... well they do down here, from experience ..

Clock Camera - you could get a BW then add seperate IR, or see if you can find one that is Color/Bw, it wont be true day night but for just indoors should be okay; will still need to add IR. Extreme CCTV has some IR Cubes in their WizKid line, they do around 20-30'. Otherwise you could look for an OEM IR LED .. some of them come in a small bullet type housing, or even a mini dome. Also you could look at a motion detector camera, OEMs are normally non functional, if you want a functionin one then GE has some of them, just Color or BW though, no Day Night. Entrance If there is light coming through then you really need Wide DYnamic, if you cant afford that though, then you cant point it at the entrance as you wont see much from the glare. Wide Dynamic's arent cheap, Pano has a box and a vandal dome version, though from the look of things you cant mount the dome in there... so then the box cam wont be discreet. Heat Once its not a black housing it should be okay. Cheaper OEM cameras generally dont last that long anyway ... cheaper internal parts such as the CCD Chip for example. May get a good 2 years out of those types. General IR Cameras The best IR generally is still Extreme but i think thats going to be out of your range .. from the initial price post you mentioned .. they are like 10 times that price... Ive used the Eclipse Day Night IR bullets, the IR goes around 30-40' and it does have a mech filter .. retail cost probably double the price you mentioned. They arent high end or anything, but could do the job for now, they are silver, and just OEM. Infact you can find the same exact camera at many other OEMs, just get the one that has the Mechanical IR Cut Filter as there are a couple versions. Otherwise id say the EX82 w/ White housing, but then thats not too discreet. Once again none of these can be pointed direct at an entrance due to back lighting. Warehouses typically get alot of glare coming through (down here at least) so you might want to rethink the discreet option for those cameras ... You can always add additional IR also, just depends on what camera you use, how well it picks up the IR light. LAstly, make sure the cameras are 1/3" CCD .. not CMOS or 1/4" .. Rory

Ill have to look at this closer later on tonight, but straight off black cameras in 130 degrees wont last ... also $150 camera is what is known as the ultimate cheapest, normally only sell these to home users, not businesses, and definately not industrial. Anyway will take a closer look later on.

Whats the application? Where will they be mounted? What lighting is available? What is the environment like (hot, snow, etc)? What is the budget?

Simply, a business will not buy from Ebay, and an end user will get no support for anything purchased on Ebay, at least not on this forum or from anyone in the business. Too many knock offs and low quality or faulty gear. Most of the so called CCTV gear on there doesnt even count as CCTV equipment, let alone should ever be used in the security industry .. same goes for places like Sams Club & Kmart gear also BTW. PS. You get what you pay for.

You just create a folder on each drive and then add those folders in the Add Location section ... i assume there is no limitation to how many you can add.

Depends on the DVR, you can have an option to use either one .. where H.2674 will give you around double the time ... lower quality though due to higher compression .. better for remote video though for lower speed connections and/or lots of cameras.
