hi, got a new mobo, cpu and memory for someones's PC (not a DVR). Turns out their Power Supply is 250watts .. any ideas if this will push the new mobo .? Its an MSI, the CPU is 3 Ghz Celleron, 256MB DDR Ram .. 1HDD and 1 CDRW are the only other 2 things .. no specs on the mobo referring to power requirements .. New power supplies are expensive down here .. so if i can use this id prefer ./. Thanks Rory

i wish they had that here actually, then maybe landscape and plumbing companies wouldnt be selling CCTV now .. Im sure it must help somewhat to keep out at least some of the trunk slammers ..?

Nope, but did you get the cameras yet? Extreme Sells some though id like to know if there are any others out there ... (guess I could google but .. ) also, dont forget a simple paint gun can still defeat them, or use a wiper ..

Typically if you get a decent name brand camera you shouldnt need to worry about this too much ..

no prob .. this is a basic sample ..

Its a multiplexed analog output .. real time display .. basically its an RCA output and you can place that into a CCTV Monitor for higher than PC quality. So you get the best of both worlds, high quality live display (analog), and high quality evidence sharing (PC)

In the US you may need to be, here no, though a business licence is required ofcourse. There are some members from arkansas here though, so will see if they reply.

Well the GV250 is the basic card and not a real time card, the GV800 is the better card, cost more though. Same software all around. When they record, the files are saved as AVI Files, basically its different from using a mux. Not sure about the frames part, weve only ever used motion only record with any DVR. They have different cards that do different speeds, the GV600 is the 30fps (real time on 1 channel), GV650 is the 60fps card, the GV800 is a better card over all and 120fps. Then comes the Combo cards which are better as they have the DSP Real Time Analogue output. The GV250 runs on Via chipsets, the 600 may, not sure yet. The 800 definately doesnt run on the Via chipset, though will work on SIS and Intel. Combos need Intel. Rory

yep, the pico doesnt come close to the Geo software (just threw 2 of them in the garbage) ... the 2 channel Geo cards are really inexpensive and you get the full Geo software ..

No idea sorry .. but where did you buy the card, maybe we can check with them .. until someone comes on here that knows anykeeper .. Also, did the drivers install properly, are they listed in the Device manager? Any other errors when installing or trying to run it? Rory -

check the hard drive first ... did you buy it from CPCam direct or a distributor? Perhaps contact them and let them know what's up .. BTW thats AvTech, just another name for them. -
yeah i heard things have changed since i was there last .. when i was there the UK was one of the safest countries Though yall still havent caught up the US and even "by population" the Bahamas has a higher crime rate than the US ..! (particularly though the main island where i live) Plus we dont have much enforced laws ... When yall have bars or security screens on all your windows and doors let me know .. then i gotta move my granny from there at least we dont get terrorism down here though (yet) touch cocunut leaf .. our courts have to catch up with the video and even just the PC world though ..we kind of behind ..

yeah gotta be some life ... at the club here to stay open the licence board make the owners pay the police to be there at the club as they carry guns .. real gangsta club .. theyve had shootings before there but that was before my time .. mostly just stabbings and other fights .. i saw one security stab a guy on video but the judge didnt buy it so he was let off .. even though it was clear as day and he even owned up to it and produced the bloody knife! normally its the clients stabbing each other though .. or the security or police getting stabbed ...
-
lawd ... yeah the nightclub here ... when the security get in a fight they just pull out a knife and stab them dead ..

cool .. send me a free copy if yah get one .. one of those corporate issues though .. dont want that activation head ache Yeah i did go on Ultra VNC once on an Embedded XP DVR and though it looked identical and had all the same stuff, it did have a few less services enabled .. but then again .. thats what we do with normal XP anyways .. but perhaps they leave out more services also .. better memory handling etc .. that was a while ago before I really got into XP so would like to jump on one now and see whats up ... hey .. wonder about the new windows .. if thats worth even looking at yet ?

Lol .. they'd have a heart attack if they came down here and saw how things were done .. there are no enforced codes in the eletrical industry, and no code at all for the alarm industry here .. just plug and play Down here though the alarm guys dont touch high voltage, so we need to depend on the electricians in some cases .. and thats alot of fun .. cant say how many times ive been thrown from a ladder ..! PS. i stopped doing attic work after 2 nails in the head ..

its still windows though so still open to the same attacks and errors that regular windows is ...
