Oh the mux .. yeah a decent mux new these days goes for around $1500+ 16 channel ..

you paid $50 for a mux ..? or keyboard ? Man the decent keyboards cost like $700 new these days ..

i still wonder by companies that make so much money .. eg. Extreme, and Panasonic in this case, cant make their own charts or tech materials, photos .. etc ..

actually alot of the other soft has that feature built in .. even the cheaper digiflower ..

Control Center is NOT on the 8.01 Downloads, only in 8.02 and that is only an upgrade. We are not talking about Center V2, as that does not control the DVR.

That is only an upgrade .. if you dont have the CD then you cannot install Control Center .. so unless you buy a new DVR Card then yo ucan use it.

LOL ... i thought it was $$ that made them happy .. (ps. i dont have a wife) .. Anyways ... Ive never seen an all in one device such as that .. doorbell etc all in one .. but you could probably make your own .. somehow.. . There are peephole cameras though .. for motion detection would need a system for those.

You can get a GE Storesafe for that, though not 200GB ... maybe like 80GB .. its 30pps and on motion i get over a month with 4 cams at one business lobby .. when 1 camera is picking up motion only, it will be the full 30pps, real time .. for example. Basically i would aim for around $2500 with cameras ... though even that is closer to dealer pricing .. Sanyo has some DVRs a little less expensive than the GE .. ive never used them myself but they come highly recommended ..

All of this is done on the DVR PC .. I wouldnt download it on that PC .. id carry it on CD or use Ultra VNC to file transfer it to the DVR .. I did undo all the changes once and forgot to turn them all back on .. so I dont do that anymore ..

i turn on all Port Filtering to start with, that blocks all ports .. TCP, UDP, and IP Protocols .. this stops everything coming and going .. tHen i just enable the TCP ports for Geo. Just as a back up ... I also turn on content advisor as well as disable IE in Programs Access. I also Uninstall it from the Windows Components ... Turn off all cookies and turn up security setting in Internet Options . .. Turn on Windows Firewall and only enable Ports for Geo and Geo Software. Ultra VNC works well for me though .. but really only should be used if needed to do any PC work .. which is why I need to get my program working . .. client doesnt want to see you come on and stop viewing to make some basic changes .. Security issues though. I totally disable all web browser access on the DVRs.

Yes and No .. if you go under Version 8.01 .. those are full programs .. anyone can download and install them .. but there is no Control Center software there ... now Version 8.02 are just upgrades .. I dont have version 8 on CD as I upgraded from 7.04 ..

Yep what i thought .. you need the CD with Control Center and installed 8.0 Control Center to install the 8.02 upgrade . .. there is no 8.01 full version listed there .. so wont work unless you get the CD ..

Downloading now ... check out that link too .. doesnt need to be installed and i included a sample Geo Config file .. I can also do a playback actually once i include that in my code .. and a timeline would be easy once i figure out how to stream the AVIs .. but will check this out .. Rory

Lawd they have version 8.02 now .. i just downloaded 8.01 a few days ago .. cant find what the changes are though .. I see they added the Control software now though .. will check it out .. i was told it cost $$

They didnt have it up there last time i checked .. will take another look .. No, this works for any version .. in fact i was developing it against 8.0 ... they didnt make much if any changes to the way Geo actually works .. still all INI files and skins .. i see some changes in the main INI where they now how 32 cameras .. so perhaps they are looking ahead ..
