    Playground Installation

id worry more about voltage spikes and brownouts over the chance of getting hit by lightning .. and then actually something that really protects it from lightning .. unless its going to be an all rubber housing and camera ...
  4. once you port forward 1024 then you can use this browser based activeX controls ... just set all the security for ActiveX in IE to prompt where it is disabled so it will download .. i wrote this a few years back before GE came out with their own .. i have a newer one but didnt get it to work on XP yet. http://www.bahamassecurity.com/ge/iVue.HTM
  5. Not sure if they have changed anything in the newer models, but normally you must port forward 1024. once thats done PM me the IP so I can test it for you ..

    Geovision Copyright

If they are putting a sticker on it that sais GeoVision, or advertising it as GeoVison then perhaps, but im sure they are more concerned with the other ones i mentioned which are the ones generally found on the internet with their GUI plastered across the page and a Geo Sticker on the card.

    Geovision Copyright

GeoVision Software is GeoVision software, if they are using another software program then they are not the Pirated Geo Cards. Geo is a software developer so the software is their prime concern. That said, you can purchase the SDK from Geo to develop a custom version and name it whatever you want to work with their cards. The Pirated cards are simply produced cheap and the Geo software is hacked to work with those cards. Their selling point is the Geo Look and Features(which the hacked versions lack most of), otherwise people can buy Anykeeper for a cheaper alternative. Another thing worth mentioning is with the Pirated versions the quality is only 640x480 as well as generally lesser overall quality compared to the Genuine cards (different cards). Also the installer CD is totally different and you stand a 50-50 chance of ever getting the drivers working, let alone the main software.

    Geovision Copyright

If he is using a Pirated Geo Card, it is using a hacked version of the older Geo Software, so yes. But they would be more concerned with the resellers.

    Question on wiring.

Well, if you put them high enough that they can't reach without a ladder, it might just give the cameras a chance. paint gun buddy also, higher than a normal ladder is too high for a camera, should be able to reach the camera easily for maintenance plus the higher you go the more you lessen the FOV ..

    windows xp sp2 firewall

though you dont need the firewall on when you use Port Filtering, if you do have it on, you need to allow these Programs located in the Geo Folder.. DMWebCam.exe - for the webcam TCPsvr.exe - for the MultiView Program

    Question on wiring.

I think that Threaded will be the way to go, because another concern is that the location of the install is a good bulding, but other people in the area are the problem, so I don't want them to mess with the camera or the line. I've seen some installations that the PVC lines are plain cut thru. yeah but then they can just disable the cameras easily anyway ..

  21. Only real differences are they would have a composite output for BNC. Other than that, most of them are no different in quality, and mostly even less quality, than the other LCDs .. for example ... ViewSonic has the fastest LCD out now, 2ms ... but then the color sucks on those fast response LCDs .. so .. So dont expect them to give you any better quality, LCDs suck for quality especially with composite video ..
