you can email Geo regarding it, and they will look into it and reply to your email ..

I dont know the Pelco Domes, but they dont list a model number and so it could just be an OEM Dome that uses the Pelco Protocol.

Thats the pendant mount, which hangs from say a ceiling. Its 18X Day Night. I used one before as they sent the wrong model, and we used another brands wall mount. The actual camera itself is the same, the mount is the difference. If you want the wall mount 18X Day Night, it would be the KTA-C3-D1C. Personally I wouldnt buy anything like this off Ebay, but thats up to you. I cant imagine it still has any warranty at that price, more than likely they have had it for a while even though they say new in box. See attached PDF for the full line of GE PTZs (excluding the ceiling pendant mount) http://www.bahamassecurity.com/uploads/geCat.pdf Also, for Geo you will need the Ge CBR-PB2-KA2 and the GeoVision Relay http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/product/GV-relay.htm (check with your GeoVision dealer on this)

there are quite a few that will work with Geo, but myself I use the GE (Kalatel) PTZs ... they have a really good keypad controller also, though you can use the Geo Software to save that extra money.

Also check out the GE MobileView product http://www.geindustrial.com/cwc/products/ge-interlogix?pnlid=9&famid=63&catid=1088&id=MobileView&lang=en_US http://www.geindustrial.com/ge-interlogix/solutions/transportation/video_surv_mview.htm http://www.ge-consultantlink.com/Docs/mobileview_bro.pdf http://www.ge-consultantlink.com/Docs/mobileview_prd.pdf

Oh okay, i thought your wanted to do it remotely ... yeah then you'll be straight .. i still wish it was built into the main software, but i guess as long as Geo thinks they can get away with it they will never integrate it .. this software may use a different port though . but you could porbably access their router anyway ..

Ive done it with the GE Muxes on Plasmas .. but they are higher quality muxes ... anyway, try changing the LCD's screen resolution if you can, to 1024x768 or 720x480 .. depends what it allows to switch to .. Also, try the BNC connection. But it maybe the LCD settings itself. There should be some frequency settings on it also. Even when you do get it to work, the composite to digital conversion will never be as clear as on a CCTV CRT monitor, which is why LCDs & Plasmas just dont cut it for Muxes or Non VGA Standalones .. at least if you want any kind of quality.

Yep, and what sucks is their 636EX bullet camera was a really neat unique product, until they started selling it without Exview ... then it was like all the rest ..

Sure, but the one i posted is still cheaper .. LOL Plus the Lorex and those others arent even worth looking at, the ones i mentioned are. The AvTech is the cheapest one Id even come close to suggesting for CCTV ... (btw.. im sure the links with pricing may get deleted per the rules ) -

Something like this for transmission .. http://www.videotransmitters.com/index.php?SCREEN=view_catalogue_level4&model_ID=18 One of these with the Auto Tracking feature .. http://www.autodome.com/ Then the Infrared will depend on what the distance is .. http://www.extremecctv.com/product_detail.php?producttype_id=1&page=2&product_id=17 http://www.extremecctv.com/product_detail.php?producttype_id=1&page=3&product_id=18 http://www.extremecctv.com/product_detail.php?producttype_id=1&page=3&product_id=19 http://www.extremecctv.com/product_detail.php?producttype_id=1&page=3&product_id=22 As for power would need to calculate amps and contact Extreme, they may be able to supply the Solar. Otherwise you could search for a Thermal System which would use less solar power. Or use what Jman suggested for a ready made kit. -

thats not even a DVR though thats a toy .. even cheaper would be the USB cable but yeah the last one i posted is around the same price without lan .. -
Right, and then you will have to port forward that port also .. But let us know how it works out .. As for home made, take a look at the liveVue Geo program on my home page and you will see that it beats their remote software hands down.
-
They charge for it .. Hmmm, I think Ill throw together a little admin program tonight, and let yall know ..
-
what version software do you have?
-
Ahh .. yeah thats what i was wondering .. "Remote DVR Configuration: Full control of local DVR settings The Remote DVR facilitates the administrator to remotely configure local GV-System’s specific settings from one single workstation. When the Remote DVR is on the run, the local GV-System loses its full control of the DVR operations and the Control Center takes full control of the configuration." Still it wont help him with pre 8.0 systems .. personally I still feel 8.0 software is only for beta or test systems until further bugs have been ironed out. But its good to know. As a programmer though, its my opinion that it should be part of the main program, even if it is a seperate software ... thats my major issue with Geo, all the different programs.; clients just want one main program, they dont need to know about all the other 20 programs associated with it. Though I dont use their remote software anyway, as I use my own version.
-
If it is a java applet, then that may be your issue. The PCs viewing may have issues with java, ive seen it many times. If it is an ActiveX Control. then you need to be using IE, and set security settings appropriately. Under ActiveX in security, turn to prompt, areas which are disabled.

Hi, Actually Remote Desktop is a windows program and must be enabled in the Windows XP Software for it to work. Also, it is available in the other remote Geo Programs, including WebCam, and also is available in the older versions. But its not what he is looking for, we do the same with VNC .. only safer. Rory
-
no its not included in the actual software. ... If you ask me, they could spend alot more time on their remote software side .. even Digiflower has that feature Now back to me .. if it was worth it ($) i could easily write a program to search the network for Geo DVRs and rename the cameras .. maybe would take a couple days .. though yeap, would be nice to have something already installed.
-
Geo is really lacking in that area, compared to even the cheaper cards. I always totally disable Remote Desktop on all PCs and DVRs, hackers are always looking for Remote Desktop enable PCs .. it is enabled by default in XP, as are other things that make the PC vulnerable. I use Ultra VNC as an alternative. Basically once you have forwarded the ports for it, and if using Port Filtering have enabled its port (as should be using on PC DVRs for security reasons) then you should be able to create a Remote desktop connection and connect to it. VNC and Remote desktop in the end are essentially the same as PC anywhere, they allow control of the remote PC's desktop.

Yeah if the home is brick or concrete then its a good luck scenerio .. i played with some of them recently and i gave up .. and thats not something i normally do .. give up that is .. Those are basically toys is all. Running wire for cameras is alot less work in the long run. Wireless Video typically requires the TX and RX to be mounted above anything that can block the signal,. eg. walls, trees, bodies, anything that absorbs water, etc Wireless Video typically requires line of sight. In the case of walls the only thing that you would really want to use, if anything, is 900 mhz. And if there is steel or AC duct in/between those walls/signals, then it wont work. Other common interferences are cell and cordless phones, and ofcourse, rain. Its not worth it unless you really have no choice, but if you dont have a choice, then you would want some higher end Analogue Wireless gear such as Video Comm, Trango, etc. Also remember wireless video still requires power.

Not unless you have VNC or Remote Desktop setup on hge DVRs .. If you know some programming you could write a small client server winsock program, send them the client file (as you will be the main server for all) to place on each computer, they click on the file and it does its thing, sets itself up on startup and waits for your connection, which then you can connect to any of them anytime and update the ini file.. that ini file has the camera names.
