http://www.prosecuritytalk.com/news/soy/soy103.html Also from what ive seen they arent low lux cameras at all .. so they wont work very well for outdoors at night time ..

Maybe some sony webcams ... and like Thomas said .. a system to suppoort it worth anything ... like to see that one .. and forget real time speed if its multiplexed .. Sony does have the Progressive Scan which is 800TVL, other people use them in their cameras. They are typically for Machine Vision though, or other specialty apps. Id have to do some research to see what they have out thats new, but maybe Thomas can shed some light on that .. Last I knew Covi was the latest in the high res analogue arena .. if they go MegaPixel its no longer CCTV with the current cameras .. DVRs still only are at 720x480 ..

same as the GE's ...

ill see what I can do .. Rory
-
Ofcourse, anything is possible .. Actually yes you could have a timer running so it checks every so many minutes, or even run a sheduled task so it does it in the background .. or have a little pop up over the tasktray saying checking DVR .. etc .. and also can send email .. its just time consuming to integrate it right now .. I could probably do some of the quicker methods for right now, take a list of IPs and ports from a text file, and run the check every so many minutes or hours in the background, or on top .. text file to say if it is on start up or not .. well one config text file and one text file for IPs and ports ..

try http://www.bahamassecurity.com/geo/CheckDvr.zip
-
Thats true .. but this is more fun http://www.bahamassecurity.com/geo/CheckDvr.exe (doesnt send mail, just an example - 10 sec disconnect delay also)
-
You would want a program not running on the DVR as the whole DVR might hang .. basically yes it can be done fairly easily. The software would telnet to the DVR and if no resonse then it sends an email alert. For example GE has a small program for their Stand alones, called WaveWatch.

ak, what system is that from? IP camera? I see itsa 960x image .. thanks Rory PS. heres an example of a 380TVL OEM bullet camera without compression .. doesnt match the ones AK posted but makes for a comparison .. PC based .. captured at 720x480 in AmCap. (only sees at night if you have alot of light BTW) Nothing like a decent BW camera .. or even a decent True DayNight Camera .. also, this is an image that shows the mechanical IR Cut Filter, on an Extreme CCTV camera. Its the piece on the right with the 2 windows, that slides across . Day Night Dome (no IR Cut Filter but its not looking at any foilage) BW and Color Dual Camera with IR ...

IP CCTV signal conversion to analog Video
rory replied to amka's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
One thing though, typically they are much worse video quality and less features. -
something that I was also thinking of today .. Rich Mans Way:: Digital Camera with the Lens mm on screen - can xoom in and out and get the lens setting on screen the same time .... does it exist? anyway, so if it did .. when you do a quote worth it ... use that on a ladder ... set the lens and take a photo ... give that to the client . this is the exact view .. if you use Exreme CCTV give them the lens setting and order the camera PRE focused and set to that. Poor Mans way .. Ganz ViewFinder .. 4 Orange Cones. $99 Target Digital Camera (with MP3 player LOL). Using the orange cones and the ViewFinder, set your view. Once set ... 1 Orange cone @ far FOV, 1 @ Left FOV, 1 @ Right FOV, 1 @ Near FOV. Use Digital Camera and with the Orange Cones set inside the orange con e view to match .. take a photo ..Give that to the client ... Well thats quoting a job ... .. anyway Rory

Does luxriot sell the whole server with the software loaded and ready to go ..? thanks, -
Looks like a generic card, the price isnt that cheap, Id go with the Geo over it any day .. also check the quality specs, only 320x240 recording .. not worth it unless it was a 1/2 the price .. (1/2 the recording ..). Id also buy from this forum's advertiser banners though. Dont forget the other cards out there such as Video Insight, Avermedia, Netpromax, etc. Rory

Yep, sounds like your a tester .. expect failures and errors Have you asked LuxRiot if they have tested their Software with any of the AV cameras yet, or they just added the code in there which was "supposed" to work? If you can get a hold of an SDK from AV .. let me know ..Thanks Rory -
Avermedia New Version 5.7 Hybrid Averdvr (H264) Question
rory replied to mtorres's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Basically i normally can just use the ActiveX which is downloaded for the Browser Based apps, to create my own GUI. I have done so with I-View, Eclipse (Digiflower), and GeoVision (being the latest version), even GE Kalatel Stand Alone DVRs (first generation). See my website for the LiveVue software page as an example. What I would like to do eventually is have the one program for multiple DVRs, as well as multi site and also, be able to stream IP cameras. .. Ive got the code for the Eclipse, Iview and ofcourse GeoVision, all using the ActiveX only (no SDK), geo's being the most flexible of all of them. Id ofcourse need to buy an Card to actually develop for it, but just curious if there is at least an ActiveX Control via the web browser? Thanks Rory -
IP CCTV signal conversion to analog Video
rory replied to amka's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
Firstly, why do you want to use IP cameras? Secondly, you can simply use an RF Modulator to send the video signal out to the TVs. If using a DVR card such as Geo you can get one with a DSP output which gives you a high quality real time RCA output, then connect that to the RF Modulator. If you want to break up the signals to different channels youd need Loop out cards or muxes or quads, and multiple RF mods depending on which views and how many you would want on however many channels. For instance, you can simply use a Loop out card to loop out 4 cameras to a 4 channel RF Modulator (channel vision) and then you could view each camera on an individual TV Channel. Dont forget filters. If you use IP cameras you can still use a DVR by using Video Decoders to convert it back to analogue for the DVR's BNC Inputs. If you are going to use an NVR (build it yourself easily) or Hybrid DVR (analogue and IP) instead, the software and the Hybrids will have to be chosen according to which cameras you buy. Avermedia and Video Insight are Examples of Hybrid PC Based systems. GeoVision and NetProMax are examples of PC Based DVRs. I havent seen any decent Stand Alone Hybrids yet, though Bosch seems to have one, it is pretty new. Dedicated Micros has had it for a while but the one i used was not very good. Also, you can simply use the TV out (RCA or SVideo) from the PC's Video Card to put the video out to the TVs. Rory -
Avermedia New Version 5.7 Hybrid Averdvr (H264) Question
rory replied to mtorres's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Hi wendy Question 3 - Do you provide an SDK or ActiveX Control with public functions for creating a customized GUI? Or could you direct me to a browser demo so I can check it out? Thanks Rory -
Try an Intel Chipset Mobo before you chuck them .. just in case .
-
Focus the Camera at your office first. Use a Viewfinder if you can, that way you can get the exact lens setting from the location and be able to set it to that at your office. Otherwise use a Spot Monitor (9" at least) to focus properly, or read up on the "Camera Master" from FM Systems. Portable Technician Monitors (small 5" LCDs) will not get you a perfect focus, but will suffice if you must, however they are generally just suitable for adjusting the camera view.

Doesnt have to be anything amazing ... what kind of DVR card are you looking at .. Frames Per Seconds..? You can easily use 2.0 to 3.0 Ghz Cellerons for the lower rate DVR Cards like 120fps ... though for faster would go with P4 and 3.0 ghz+ , any board with an Intel Chipset and that supports the CPU you select ... Typically i have used 2.93 Ghz 478 Cellerons for up to the 120fps (for the 30fps can be as low as 1.7 Ghz), and 3 Ghz P4 for anything else. As for Video Card its always 128MB ATI Radeon (and 512MB DDR RAM) for up to 120fps and 256MB+ (and 1GB RAM) for the P4 ones.

Arecont Vision 3 megapixel cameras
rory replied to GrahamM's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You can pretty much use any DVR Card. Ive got a GeoVision card to work with generic software like LuxRiot .. not using the Geo drivers ofcourse .. -
Yo ucant go wrong with an Intel Chipset Mother board, so I would suggest that if you can afford to buya new mother board. I personally run the GV250 on a Via Chipset, though it is a buget card. For all other higher GVs I would only use Intel, even if others "may" work. We're talking about a security system. I have used a SIS Chipset as it was all that was available on the island at the time, with a GV800, but if I had the choice it would have been an Intel, same price. Basically you'll stand more chance that it will work properly if you use an Intel Chipset, with any DVR Card. Geo lists somewhere, what Chipsets are approved to work with their cards.

Geovision-1480 V Avermedia-NV6000- 480fps/16 - which one??
rory replied to freeflyer's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I cant speak for Avermedia as Ive never used them, thiough heard they were decent. As for Geo (also pertains to other DVR Cards), here is an example setup using a CCTV CRT Monitor for live and playback. Gives you very high quality compared to using just a PC Monitor or LCD. Whichever route you go, you can use the IR Remote to control only the display on the DSP Output, and at the same time it wil control the views on the VGA Output. The Geo uses very high quality cards from South Korea, and yes the software is very stable. The system though should still be tweaked properly to obtain the most security and stability, goes for any DVR Card.
