    Backfocus

cool, actually i wont need an exview for this car park as they have a ton of light which they didnt have originally when the first exview was installed, so i can probably try out one of the 1/3" Bosch color cameras, any suggestions which one .. not day night, though WD would be nice .. and a little bit sensitive though .. as its still for night time. thanks Rory

    Backfocus

I would suggest testing the GE Exview with their F:0.95 lens though as they are the lowest you will find for a 1/3" color camera. Either way, if the camera is not Exivew I really dont call it a low light camera.

    Backfocus

Once you focus the camera in low lighting, then it will be in focus at night. I never backfocus unless I really have to, typically they come backfocused from the manufacturer if they are new. But then with that Bosch you still have to physically focus the camera, so I dont see any real difference.

    gv 250 on win 98

I run the GV250 on 1.5-2.0 AMDs & Cellerons with Via Chipsets ... no issues, thats the lowest I would go though. I wouldnt use it for anything besides the GV250 though. As for what he has, its a 99.9999% probability that he has a 500Mhz + - CPU if he is using Windows 98 .. so unless he says otherwise we have to just guess at this point.

    gv 250 on win 98

I am running XP on a 1.2Ghz also, but I wouldnt suggest it for a DVR system, plus he is more than likely using something like a 400-500 mhz if he has windows 98 on that, as windows ME came out around the 600Mhz time period.

    gv 250 on win 98

For a Stable DVR system I would not run Windows XP on anything under something like a 1.5ghz PC.

    gv 250 on win 98

He will have to upgrade the hardware also though, which he is probably trying to avoid. .

    Backfocus

yep that is a nice feature, but they cant give me an Exview camera like GE can ... and you only have to backfocus if you want to ..

    geovision remote view questions

Yeah that is one of the things I dont like with the Program .. there isnt a way to change it as far as I know .. just have to download the file then play which is a Pain .. hence the need for something better for Remote Playback. Rory

    geovision remote view questions

In the Geo Main Folder (or on the Start Menu under the GeoVision Group), you should see "Remote Playback Server", as it is installed as part of the GeoVison DVR Server Software package. If its not on the Program Group List for some reason, do a search for: "RPBSvr.exe" or look in your Geo main folder for that file. Rory

    geovision remote view questions

no doubt. That should be a given if he is using Remote Playback. The Remote Playback Server (installed with the main programs) must be running on the DVR Server to connect via Remote Playback Now i never use the browser based Remote Playback ActiveX so I Cant speak for that. That said, I really dont like the RPB program with Geo and so Im developing my own Remote Admin/Playback/Downloader, which will be much better. PS. I dont just 'set them up' .. check this for extremely basic examples: http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=4615 http://www.bahamassecurity.com/client_demo.htm Now im doing a custom GeoShell and already finished the 30 way multi site viewer, next the 64 way viewer .. and then the admin proggy.

    geovision remote view questions

I think he's doing that already .. for the browser part to work ..

    geovision remote view questions

What CCTVGeeks means is use the Windows Software, not the ActiveX Browser Control .. It is on the GeoVision CD as RemotePlayback Client. Install this and run it, connect, you can then select more than one camera, and more than one time, download and / or playback all of them at the same time (well up to 16 at one time playing as it will then buffer the rest). Mace CAM68CIR camera samples

Maybe cheap is the wrong word - broke? Hey im in the same boat, I cant afford an Extreme CCTV camera outside my home. But I also cant afford to install cheap products for other people for the problems that come along with them. Now I can sell them the camera, but they will have to install it themselves and there is no warranty.

    PowerTelecomm DVR Problems

What you want to do also is get some feedback on long term use of the DVRs, at least a few weeks, in a real world situation, and base your decision on that also. Good luck and let us know which system you go with.

    PowerTelecomm DVR Problems

No apologies needed I see you sell a few different brands of DVRs so perhaps you can also recommend something that fits his needs, just post the info and name though if possible .. thanks Like the other DVR he mentioned, is that being discontinued or are they still building them? thanks Rory

    CM-2

fm systems sells direct ... maybe you can resell it for us ..??
  24. It looks like a transmission problem. More than likely it could be your Balun part. Have you tested the signal at that point on a monitor (TV or Test Monitor or CCTV Monitor) ? Is the power cable 18AWG? Rory
  25. GE KTC-2000DN ... But since you are in the UK Samsung Techwin will be your best bet. Samsung GVI is in the US BTW .. GE will cost too much on your side .. Your pretty much left with Samsung Techwin or Bosch in Name Brand for the UK and that price range. Rory
