    Class Action Lawsuit Against Geovision?

yeah and they wonder why, they are the ones with the: "Based on GeoVision DVR Cards and products" As for the other thing, Geo is just doing what it has to to protect itself, software works up to version 7.05 so unless you really want 8.0 there is no need to update. There are many fixes out there for the other software. Im using dongles in my own software now, not 100% full proof as we have seen, I Guess the onchip thing is better protection for them. If anything, blame it on the criminals that are copying, cracking, and selling the clones .. Also blame the guys like the above web site for supporting their illegal activity and making it harder on those of us that follow laws. Rory
  3. a 5 Year old DVMRe-CT does all of that. .. except the onboard CD. I do have the upgraded firmware but its best to first contact GE direct and ask them which one you can upgrade to. Rory

PLease could one reccomend a DVR

Remember even without the DSP, you can also use the Video Card's output to a TV, though not quite as high quality as the DSP, it generally is not bad. Ive used the SVideo output to the SVideo on a CCTV monitor for playback and was very clear, better than the PC Monitor. Rory

the 650 isnt a bad framerate actually, thats 60fps. If you are using motion recording it can be real time most of the time also using the Smart Motion feature. But yeah the 1280 is nice if your location gets alot of traffic. And you get that analogue output. Rory
  6. I dont know those cards, or the system, but BNC on the coax/camera end (did you run RG59 Copper center and braid?), then BNC-RCA Adaptor at the RF Modulator end. Rory
  7. Do any of them come with recording software? If so use that one. If not, both should work with the default drivers found here: http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=2021 And there is some free DVR software there also .. You may just need a BNC-RCA Adaptor for the card if it has an RCA input. Optionally you can buy a BNC-RCA then an RCA-S-Video. Course easiest IMO would be to buy a GeoVision GV250 2-channel card one time, should work in that PC if there is a free slot. Its inexpensive and you get the full DVR software. Rory
  8. what inputs are on the HP media Center card? Course the hard part is finding decent software to work with either.
  9. Will they be using the browser or Remote Playback Client.? There are ways to do it .. depends on which way they will be doing it . Rory

    Best Stand Alone

GE does everything but the VGA listed there .. as its a Stand Alone it requires a composite monitor. But its a high end DVR so may be out of your budget. Optionally take a look at the Kodicom Stand alone DVRs .. Rory

PLease could one reccomend a DVR

Ok .. LOL. cancel out the high end units .. they cost much more than that .. Youll need a Budget DVR at that cost, something like the AvTech or similar .. Rory

PLease could one reccomend a DVR

Being that you are located in the UK you will need to find out what is available on that side of the globe. First what is the budget? This will determine whether it is a budget or a high end DVR .. Im sure the UK guys can jump in on whats over there, but for high end I would say Baxall, GE (sold under Vista in the UK), Panasonic, Bosche, Dedicated Micros. Theres going to be a ton of budget DVR systems, like the one posted above (not sure that is available the UK though) but basically they will all be OEM units, so just shop around.

Yeah hope everyone's okay ... arkansas, tennessee, missouri .. check in dudes ..
  16. sounds like a custom application such as an SDK and some MegaPixel IP cameras.. but meanwhile, i wrote a small Network program for the Geo's that has a snapshot feature ... but its not going to be that kind of resolution ..

are 600 tvl bullet cameras for real?

Its being recorded in low res though, could just use a low res bullet in that case ..
  18. havent used 8.0 sorry ... . but id start by disabling any channels that dont have any cameras connected to them.
  19. So what do you think? Me, 640x480 comes out as a more normal size for playback than 720x480 which is more stetched. Rory

about geovosion pixeled image in multicam

if its Direct Draw Overlay you will also notice it in the live view .. that will cause it to be pixelised though, check the video drivers .. etc / PC maybe just needs a restart.

    E-FM1 Handheld Focus Indicator

Thanks, like I said though, if you have the extra cash, it seems like a neat tool to have. Ofcourse there are lots of tools I would like but ... Anyway, once you use the correct cable, use decent connectors and intall them properly, use Decent Cameras and set them up properly, run the cable at least 1 foot from any high voltage (and nowhere near extremely high voltage), dont bend the cable too much, and dont over run the cable without amps, then there should never be any issues with the video.

    E-FM1 Handheld Focus Indicator

just focus all your cameras with a 9" CCTV Monitor at your office, then use a small 5' Portable monitor to adjust when you mount it .. thats it .. the CM sounds nice though i think I would still prefer to focus by eye on Varifocal Lenses - sounds like its better for lower res fixed lenses. But more power to you if yah got $700 to spend ..

    E-FM1 Handheld Focus Indicator

I hope you're focusing it before you climb the ladder
  24. Nah, its cable or power. .. or just a cheap camera power baord .. ive only seen them on cheap bullet cameras .. also, what recording setting are you using, with a GV250 and a budget color bullet i get the jumping .. only when set on 720x480 interlaced .. if deinterlaced or smaller res it is fine ..
