Suggested Retail price is $600 on that camera. Add a lens and housing ...
-
thats way above that budget Retail pricing .. he's looking more in the Sanyo or Ganz area of pricing to stay within budget .. for Day Nights Box cameras .. Domes are way out of the budget range either way ..

Are you asking for advise on a decent camera that will work? Those cheap Color IR bullets generally look horrible at night. You could spend more money in time just trying to get it adjusted properly .. Rory

download LiveVue from my home page.

try it on one first, or download my program from my web site and try that, it applies the fix automatically when it loads, and will see if it connects or not, doesnt matter which port is used on the web cam .. Rory

School Guard Pro - Digital Surveillance System
rory replied to russ's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Post a link to the manufacturer please using an Embedded "RTOS" (Real Time Operating System) that records in 720x480 @ 480fps/pps/ips and evidence sharing is in 720x480 @ 480fps/pps/ips - Not using H.264, some higher quality compressions like Jpeg2000 for example, and no 320x240/352x240 image sizes as they are useless for security. Thanks/. -

PC based sure, there are a few that do that, Geo for example, but you have to pay for it to do it right. Stand alone, nothing yet. Also note that MPEG4 is not as high quality as Wavelet or Jpeg ..and H.264 is even worse quality than Mpeg4. I also forgot to mention Stability is most important with CCTV and Security. .. so new products need at least a year in the field to see how they hold up. I would push to spend more money on the cameras, and time installing and setting them up properly, than worying about the speed of the recording. I can sell a 4-channel 30pps DVR that gives me an average recorded speed of 15-30pps depending on how many cameras are picking up motion, and if it drops to 7.5pps when all are picking up motion, its fine, as its a solid plug play and forget machine, and in high quality 720x480 and wavelet compression. Quality is useless if the cameras are crap though ... -

5pps is still decent actually. Quality over speed always .. so better quality cameras, and higher quality DVR sizes .. always best for CCTV. Less compression. Speed must come last. -

7.5 is still very decent for CCTV. -

Install some Alarm Beams as well .. check out Optex ... you could tie them into the DVR also.

i focus in the evening when its dark, outside on a plastic table, do each camera one at a time, focused on my jeep, then when they are all setup, take them to the location ... but then thats just me .. But yes I also have carried the 9" monitor up the ladder many times before .. Once you dont mount the cameras at a crazy height (which you shouldnt) then its okay.
-
9" CCTV BW 1000TVL monitor - need at least a 9" Monitor to focus a camera properly.

Short Answer: A Professional Dealer / Installer ! Ricks in the locale ..
-
Im not familiar with cold weather and condensation, but i imagine a heater will fix that, if not you could also use those little packets (most housings come with them now)
-
BTW if you want Day Night, check out something like the Sanyo 4594. There is a newer model but this one is one of the least expensive True Day Night Box cameras, and also works well with Infrared.
-
I typically use the GE Housings, and fujinon/Computar Lenses. But the Sanyo One Packs should be good too. I can honestly say that the GE housings have been through multiple hurricanes and also on the beach / harbour side so thats what I stick with now myself.

The Speco (Provideo) can be purchased anywhere actually, if you call a Local CCTV/Alarm/Security Supplier/Installer they should be able to get it for you, its a very popular brand in the US - just wont be at the price you are looking for probably. The other one, dont know what that is, it is OEM so it could be made by any of a hundred or so different Chinese, Taiwanese, or South Korean companies. Speco is a good one, there are a couple others for a little less $$ but less IR. What you could do is post a "Want to buy" in the Classifieds section, as members know there is no soliciting in these public forums. You could also look at KT&C as they also have a large Bullet camera range. also take a glimpse at Eclipse and Mace you maybe able to get something similar and save a couple $$ on the first purchase. Personally I wouldnt bother with those cameras myself, I would either use a color only and add Lighting such as motion lights, or a BW and add IR if you want. Optionally something like a Sanyo Day Night box camera in a housing with some seperate Extreme CCTV IR would be a much better choice - yes it would cost a couple hundred $$ extra, but be well worth it.
