What PC's are you using for your Geo Systems?
rory replied to libertysurveillance's topic in Geovision
the $180 Wintergreen is a great buy for the GV250's .. -
Heck even im selling Eclipse now, lotta cheap people out there yah know ..
-
I think he is just being honest. Mace, along with Eclipse, Cop, etc, are all Budget equipment. Its just how it is. not knocking the brand, they just use cheap equipment, and there is a market for that.

whats DMTF? Meg Bios?? -
Just dont use the WZ30's, at least not the 420TVL versions ... the WZ46's are so much better though. Yes depends on the lighting ... Id use BW or Day Night and Throw up either some Motion Lights or Infrared .. really whatever you quote will depend on their budget.

Basic or Ultra VNC? I dont notice on Ultra.

I do and have used these great domes, yet they still do not match up with a decent Box camera and Full Lens. Just saying if you can use a Box camera, use it, the Image will be better, if not, then a Dome will suffice, but you will need to spend on a high end Dome to get a decent image. A dome is not always the answer, there are other products out there as well. Quality Rates like this including Features, Image Quality, Light Handling - from best to worst. #1 - Box Camera #2 - Dome Camera #3 - Bullet Camera though a cheap bullet is often better image quality than a dome ... not light handling or features though There's only so much you can do with technology. my 2 pennies ..

a VNC task bar will appear at the top .. this is with Ultra VNC
-
The first one isnt a Sony camera BTW. Ill pm you when i get back from dinner regarding the Speco.
-
a tab appears at the top which shows itself when you move the mouse to the very top, and hides itself when the mouse moves away
-
no, you can go full screen, at least with Ultra VNC, so its like you are on the PC.

DW has some. Anyway, are you a Dealer or End User? To all others, please read the rules about soliciting. Thanks Rory

for a home user that doesnt need any features, you could just sell them the AvTech 16 channel ... i havent found any mid range 8 or 16 channel stand alones worth talking about, other than the 4 channel Active-tek model, also sold under the name Nubix-4 from Eclipse. Or you put together a decent PC package and sell those, they will be much less than any high end stand alone //

Domes or Box cams in Housings. I prefer the box cameras if they are set up away from anywhere that they can get hit, just depends on the warehouse. The Box cameras image will be much much better than any dome. Domes if they have tp be mounted lower down, and maybe some BW GE Brute cameras for wall mouted also. Extreme has some Wall and Corner mounted Cameras that have built in IR .. consider lighting also, as when they get broke in at night ..PTZ is useless unless you have someone there all the time operating it. There isnt one type of camera used for any application, every app differs.

That provideo isnt new, and is useless over the network. Sanyo over the JVC for sure .. Id get a GE StoreSafe if you can spend the extra couple $$ Rory

it has to do with the Resolution settings on the 2 PCs .. so if your LCD is 800x600 and the Remote PC is 1024x768 you will have to scroll. If they are the same resolutions then you will not have to scroll.

Yeap, will have more info after the show .. I want to get away from people having to set up or focus cameras, and just let us preset them for different situations, or do it remotely for them .. and WDR Day Night is going to be nice .. will see what happens.

in a belated answer on the Firm ware i have 5.21 here and the triplexe uploader program, in case you didnt get it straight yet .. though I would still contact GE to be sure the firmware will work with that mode as if not then it would be damaged and would have to send it back to GE, if there is still a warranty on it.

actually the DVMRe-CT goes up to 1000GB (1TB) internally. Has external support also.

Best Location of Outdoor Camera's
rory replied to Tom the Handyman's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Better quality image, especially with wider angle lenses, in addition to much more features generally. This wont be the same with the cheaper OEM box cameras though, remember you get what you pay for. -

rory replied to jademolly's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Hi If the DVR card has a RCA Input on it for audio use that, otherwise if it doesnt and you are using the PC Input then you will always hear sound as you are now. Do you know what DVR card it is? As for the camera, sounds like it is the IR Cut Filter issue. Most cheap color IR cameras, dont have an IR cut Filter in order to pick up Infrared at Night, and to cut down on cost. A mechanical iR cut filter would make the camera cost alot more. Without an IR Cut filter in the day time colors will look washed out, lack of color production, due to the IR produced from the sun and other sources. There isnt anything you can do with that besides buying a Color only camera, or an expensive Day Night camera that has a mechanical (auto/removable) IR cut filter. Rory -
Yeah ive used the SuperHad version, not bad, (the 480TVL version) but i want to get my hands on the Exview .. there's a couple newer domes coming out soon ill be getting my hands on hopefully ... with also have OSD and hopefully WDR . day night Exview with IR Cut Filter. There are a couple Korean Manus using the same Dome housing so its hard to tell sometimes .. plus they generally offer the same specs also .. its the WDR, IR Cut, and 360 degree gimble that makes the diff and which costs extra .. they all seem to offer EXview and Superhad .. everyone tries to keep the sales price down in the US so they just sell the Superhad or Digital Day Night versions .. its good to offer those too though as a cheaper alternative .. ive used the Superhad Day Night with seperate IR and worked out good, though without iR not as low lux as the true day night with an IR Cut Filter. Still, its a line of the same cameras and specs basically that everyone is getting on the bandwagon with .. next is to specialise in those with the OSDs and make some custom software for them .. be nice if they had a zoom lens so could also auto focus remotely .. in addition to full camera setup ..

does it look like any of these .. ? http://www.specotech.com/cart/products/default.asp?action=viewcat&catid=192 (the vandal ones near the bottom can come in SuperHad or Exview, its up to the distributor to choose)
