    Okay, let's hear your pitch...

PowerTellecomm has a decent line ... The one a colleague has tested was the embedded board, you can put it inside any Power Case, nice and not expensive.

    remote picture quality, wow.

The DVMRe is D1 also, 720x480, the difference is, the symdec is PC based (I think?), so your network image quality is much greater than the DVR's compressed 352x240 network image quality .. local quality on the DVR stays at 720x480 (D1) regardless. sound about right? now ... post some screen shots already (if you can get some video clips even better, check the thread out in the digital forum, or email me them if you have nowhere to host them .. thanks)

    How do you install CCTV

a simple answer for him would be, buy the equipment, run the cable or have someone else run it, mount the equipment, adjust, setup and program the equipment, test and demo the equipment, and be prepared to go back more than once before you get paid ..

    How do you install CCTV

anyone can run the cable, its alot more than that, at least for professional jobs. Such as choosing the right product to start with, the right camera for the application, then the recording device. Also have to know how to properly backlfocus and adjusting the cameras, there is alot more to it than meets the eye, its definatelty a specialty job but with some training anything can be accomplished. Compared to Alarm systems, Alarms are a walk in the park.

What PC's are you using for your Geo Systems?

What stinks is you add windows to that setup and you're adding another 100 bucks. True, so $100 for WinXP and another $40-$50 for case and PSU. Total: $560.00 + $20.00(S&H) = $580.00 So, how much would that setup cost from DELL.. add the cost to build and test it.

    Geovision ver 8.0

if you want more than 240fps than forget the H.264 as thats where it tops out on the Geo. You will need to use the Mpeg4 ASP which is also very good, better compression than Mpeg4, though with more compression comes more video loss ..

    Backfocus

Lens doesnt say it is IR Corrected, in fact it doesnt appear to be a very low lux camera if you check the specs, pretty much similar in lux levels as the Sanyo. If you really want a dome with an IR corrected lens then you may want to check out the Extreme models. 0.8 lx (0.08fc) at color imaging mode, 0.1 lx (0.01fc) at B/W mode (with optional clear dome cover) F1.4 (Wide) to F176, close / F1.8 (Tele) to F176, close

    Backfocus

my bad i didnt see the dome part .. generally Day Night domes dont use IR corrected lenses, but it depends on the manu .. Extreme does on certain domes .. Pano may also but it would have to say in the specs.

What PC's are you using for your Geo Systems?

yeah but they can buy a Dell anywhere .. check the SystemMax built to orders .. thats the best, in fact I did GV800's in a Built to order with a Via Chipset and replaced the Mobo with a SIS seperately and kept the cost down, and nice small mid case ... havent gone back to it once .. still ticking along since last august .. they have the larger cases also, I can look up the specs I did for 2 diff systems somewhere, one was for like the GV800s, the other was for the GV1000s at the time ..

What PC's are you using for your Geo Systems?

for GV800's for example, i have used custom built SystemMax PCs .. for GV250's any PC i have lying around ... otherwise I have VueStar custom build them with the card tested before they send them.

    swapping new hard drives

Nightclub car park though, he wants color .. so he can identify cars .. He does have alot more lighting now though than he originally had .. so should be okay, Id probably get the 1/3" just one to test as I dont think he would spend on the 1/2" anyway ...
