You need to test it NOT connected to the DVR. sorry but this is my last post on this.
-
Just for grins and giggles. It looks like it might be pulsating with the time.
-
when you take the camera and plug it direct into a service monitor, do you still have all these issues? You cannot troubleshoot properly going through a DVR. You may need to take the camera down and test it. is this RG59 copper or aluminum braid? also make sure the BNCs arent touching each other (sometimes matters) could be cheap/bad BNC connectors as well.
-
Turn off the date-time / overlay on the DVR or camera if it has that feature. I asked before but did not see an answer, what cable is being used?
-
You need to go right at the camera and test it.
-
Only firmware 2.608 gives you the options of individual encoding settings for Record Normal, Motion, and Alarm. PSS device config will only show those options if the connected DVR has firmware 2.608+

what cable is used for video and power? where is everything powered? is it run anywhere near high voltage? what type of connectors? did you make any changes just before this started? any other workers been there? disconnect all cameras and power all down except this problem camera, see if it is okay then. If it is, add each camera back in until it starts to do it again. Reset power to cameras, does it do it right away or does it take a while? Restart DVR, does it do it right away or does it take a while? Did you switch it on the DVR to another channel yet? Check connectors, check power connections.

good luck!

loose or bad connector. that PSU could power 8 really powerful IR cameras 5 times the size of what you have .. you still only have basic IR bullet cameras. I dont care what that manual says, Ive been using 99% IR cameras for 10 years now. But yes its a nice PSU, might as well get the isolated fused PSU one time then
-
You could always just buy a 1.5a plug in power supply, they are like $15 here retail so must be around $5 in the US.
-
I already mentioned this, that it should be a little over the specified current draw just incase. Although that 1A would be with the IR LED on. 6.8 watts with IR LED on. Or actually 567ma and if that is 24VAC then double it for 12VDC, eg. 1.2A needed per camera.
-
How do you get that its much more powerful than the Nuvicos? This samsung camera is just a 2.8-10mm TDN IR bullet camera. Max. 6.8W (LED On)
-
24VAC is still low voltage. Yes sometimes we can get a buz off it but not enough to worry about, that only happens to me when Im pooring with sweat and on a metal ladder. If the distances are short and most of the other cameras are 12VDC then I just use that, otherwise I would normally use 24VAC. When using powerful IR cameras then 24VAC is preferred anyway as it can be a big difference from 24VAC to 12VDC, but this is not even that. Eg. http://stna.resource.bosch.com/documents/VEI-30DinionInf_DataSheet_enUS_T7655416203.pdf 1.5A @ 24VAC 2.9A @ 12VDC And you cant power these with cat5 cable BTW.
-
Thats the way I see it, though they may mean 6.8watts at 24VAC, they dont say so its hard to tell. Ive never seen an IR bullet with those basic components that will draw 2amp let alone 4amp. Its just a basic TDN IR bullet camera, nothing special. Ive used TONS of them and even in the old days they would not draw more than 1A, now adays things draw even less current.
-
And yet I have several $2000 extreme much higher powered IR cameras on an Altronix PSU. Then again they are all being powered at 24VAC, always use that if you can instead of 12VDC.

How much voltage can a DC IR camera take??

You must be talking about that cheap CNB crap. Anyone with sense would know better than to use that rubbish in a low light app. -

thats why one should run the correct wire to begin with. Problem is you probably listened to some clown talking bout use cat5 for power but the fact is most of them dont even use IR or know much about it. -
use an extension cord, or take the camera down to test it - if you are sending it back to be replaced, you have to take it down anyway.

focus it in low light, then fine tune it under IR. Best to do this in a controlled environment, or at least have something in the center and at both edges to focus on.

Im surprised numbnutts doesnt have bars on the windows and doors. with all that one would think he is living in the heart of the ghetto

I would ditch the operating system, it is taking forever to load and your swimming pool needs cleaning -
