Alot of times, if you properly explain the differences between a Budget Camera and a High quality camera, they will go with the higher quality regardless of the higher cost ... but ofcourse some people are just cheap ...
-
what yah mean ..? Windows will install the drivers .... doesnt take long to install the other software ... the email setup, IIS setup, and tweaking XP is what takes all the time .. in fact, backing up and restoring data is the biggest hurdle of all ... and no recovery CD can help yah there .. also i mean setting up the locations, etc, such as in IIS, Outlook, My Documents, etc ... test, run the updates that just came out yesterday ... etc etc ..
-
me personally, down here, ill just sell them a cheap BW or cheap Color bullet if they are on a budget, and a cheap cheap CMOS Color IR bullet for the super budget ... then sell the high end for people that want quality.
-
nahh .. just stick in the windows CD and format one time ... most yah gotta load is the video card drivers anyway, keep all your software on a 2nd partition and just install them from there ... and have some fun while doing it ..

stop it!! Yall making me feel even more unhealthy than i am just hearing these stories of food I could only dream about i think im going to see if i can locate an online US food store and spend an hour there every day, to get caught up on stuff im missing out on ..

its the best I could find to date, that is a True Day Night ... The Panosonic is good too, i just dont like its cosmetics ... save it for WD apps ... the GE (if the rep is watching) didnt work out too well for me, less settings than the Sanyo, and more expensive .. plus no 360 degree gimble, had to bend it to work. Ganz looks interesting also .. will see what the Korean Manufacturers have coming out .. seen some interesting stuff, WD True Day Night, 540/600TVL, 0.1/0.01 lux Exview Day Night with Mech Filter .... just noone is selling them yet. My client has had 2 Sanyos now for over 4 years ... Course always looking for something better and cheaper ... BTW, the sanyo isnt actually that low lux in Color mode ... it works out well in BW mode though .. but doesnt match up to their True Day Night box camera for low light in both color and BW .. which doesnt match up to the GE Exview True Day NIght .. also a mention Bosch has an Exview true Day Night PTZ ...

tiger ... hint hint ...

yall aint seen nothong yet till yah come down here ...

i think he needs it for standalones though ...

Yes. Though the IT Guys on here can better assist with which one to use .. or ask the local PC store .. as far as I know it would be an Access Point .. Rory

Most True Day Nights will be the same lux settings, lux is all a game anyway, and the lens used has a large effect on how low they can go also. If it is Exview then it will go even lower. The BW Mode is normally a lower lux as there is no color, like 0.1 lux. Nothing can match a seperate BW camera anyway.
-
The Sanyo is a True Day Night camera, the BW Mode uses a Mechanical Filter to remove the Chroma.

The Ganz is still going to be way over his budget. Panasonic's Wide Dynamic Day Night dome is actually one of the least expensive True Day Night Domes on the market. He can just buy a Cheap Color/IR Vandal Dome from like Eclipse or Mace, then bend the camera base to physically adjust it in that direction ... bang goes any warranty and the image wont be great, but hey, thats what you will get for that price range ...
-
What they are is almost identical to how an Exview Camera works, switches to a BW mode for additional Sensitivity, but it is not a true BW mode. Because these are Super HAD and not Exview, they must use Super AGC type settings (Sens Up) and other Digital Methods to try to get as low as an Exview Chip, which if they were to use, would bring the price up considerably. Anyway thats my take on them.

Sure, in the case of a Stand Alone non Windows DVR, a Wireless Access Point. In the case of a PC DVR, a wireless PCI Network Card.

Actually, those American Sentry Guard Cameras are good cameras, Made in South Korea (isnt Mace Chinese??) but ... they are NOT True Day Night cameras. There is a reason you pay double for the True Day Night camera, and that is mentioned on another Thread here. BTW, the actual manufacturer of that camera does make True Day Nights, but the OEM companies are not selling them as they are trying to cut down on the cost, since in the case of the mentioned web site and many others, they sell primarily budget-mid range Asian Import (OEM) equipment. If they havent used many very good cameras, then they will think anything is "da bestest" Its good to use the budget gear and have an offering for the client, but at the same time, as in the case of a colleague of mine that also sells those cameras, its good to know how a higher end camera performs and have those to offer also. The same goes with DVRs.

next year sometime actually maybe they are waiting for the show ...

Wall Mounts like that come with certain Brands, like GE, Ganz, etc. But if you buy a wall mount dome, with the 360 degree gimble, then they will see down the wall without this. The wall mounts like this, I only ever used them for Cosmetic reasons. Also, you can get the budget domes or other Domes that dont have that 360 gimble, to see sideways too, means some bending of the camera's mount inside the housing, but it is doable. Isaac yah know i was just kiddin $2k a system is inexpensive actually ... i dont work for less that $6k

and thats a $2000 mace camera

Installed a new mother board and CPU for my parents PC that stopped working (they had a 2.2Ghz Celeron). After all that and reloading windows, comes out that the store here sold them a Duron Mobile 1.2Ghz CPU as a 2.2 Ghz, and the mother board, though new in the box, is like 4 years old, has no XP Drivers on the CD. Anyway, for now since its hard to get decent parts here, and they need the PC back ASAP, anyone know anything about the OverClock function in the PC Chips Bios? Ive already tweaked the heck out of windows XP .. but was wondering if that Overclock function was worth messing with? Dont want to fry anything .. thanks Rory

probably the same as the eclipse models, either way, he's talking retail pricing ...

According to Freescale.com (Semi-Conductor manufacturer for Motorola etc.) Kalatel Calibur DSR-2000e uses the Freescale DSP56F826, a 16Bit Digital Signal Processor for mainboard processing. Dont know exactly how many are on each board of this particular DVR, but here are some specs: Up to 40 MIPS at 80MHz core frequency 512 × 16-bit words of Program RAM 2K × 16-bit words of Data Flash 4K × 16-bit words of Data RAM 2K × 16-bit words of BootFLASH Supply Voltage: 3.0–3.6 V 2.25-2.75 V http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/overview.jsp?code=DRDSPCSTMPRDX&srch=1 http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=DSP56F826&nodeId=0127956292 I see that too ... according to Kalatel, which developed the DSR-2000e way before GE Interlogix (which is GE Security now) aquired them, they use Nucleus RTOS with Power PC boards, not sure which Processor they use. Ill check this week, i have one sitting at my parents house.

March Networks DVR with POS Investigator Anyone???
rory replied to cctv_down_under's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Yes I heard of them, but they dont seem like they want to sell to anyone else besides a select few, there are other choices out there. If they had a built in Voltage Regulator, then i would be impressed Actually i found them a couple years ago originally, and I was only interested in their wall mount DVRs, as they would match up with Alarm Systems ... i emailed them and never heard back, so last year I emailed them again, a couple months later someone in Puerto Rico emailed me with a form to fill out, and a bunch of questions ... i was like yeah right ... its another Nuvico ...! (except its canadian .. ) -

The java applet creates/updates the jpeg images in the Geo HTTP Server's WebTemp Folder. As it updates it, it also dispays the image. I set up a Java Script version, but currently still relies on the Applet to be running somewhere in order to update the images, but that will change. The speed and quality produced by the Applet is not worth using, unless you have no other choice - such as with the PDA/Pocket PC/Firefox/Apple. The regular ActiveX is different, and would be the preffered method for speed and quality, or just use that other program ...
