  1. which port is enabled on it ... 5900 is default but I cant connect to it .. Also set up a password for Ultra VNC only, not the DVR, and PM me it ... PS. do you have Skype? thanks Rory
  2. password ..? PM me it, or was it that password you posted a couple posts before ..? Cant connect to server though ... Rory
  3. no go ... regular VNC port? Ip still the same ..? Is there any software on the DVR PC that can be blocking ...? Any Nortons, any other firewall, anything? No router right?
  4. yeah, i dont mean the DVR software, something like VNC which allows Adminstration of the PC, to check for other things that maybe blocking access. For example, is there anything else running on the DVR PC? Looking for something that is blocking access. Rory
  5. Weird, still no go ... if its not your personal PC .. perhaps load on VNC or Ultra VNC as thats what Im using now, and PM me with an access password and I can check it from here .. you can always change the VNC password afterwords .. Ill be online pretty much all night .. Rory
  6. still no page ... but it is connecting as with Telnet it connects and also IE goes there straight away, just has no page to display like it is missing. Perhaps uncheck use the default web page, click ok and restart, then check it again and restart again ...? Can you access it in IE locally, either on the LAN or on the DVR itself ...? Rory
  7. maybe you just have to restart the DVR software .. seems like IE is finding the server but no web page ... I get the page cannot be displayed error page. Rory
  8. I can telnet that port 81 now, but I dont think that is the HTTP server ... Is there anything that says HTTP server or similar ..? Rory

    ir day/night dome cams

there are many different types, and they all work differently. Any brands in mind?
  11. I dont know the DVR personally, but look for the HTTP server part and make sure it is turned on and using port 80. Also, some ISPs block port 80, so if it is port 80, also try switching it to port 81. I also take it that Windows Firewall is turned off? Rory
  12. That does work, for Telnet, so it is open and forwarding properly. However, that is not a recognised HTTP port so it will not work in Internet Explorer Port 80 is the primary port used by the world wide web (www) system. Web servers open this port then listen for incoming connections from web browsers. Similarly, when a web browser is given a remote address, it assumes that a remote web server will be listening for connections on port 80 at that location. Otherwise if using any of the following ports you will typically need to specify the port using a colon and the port number after the IP address. 81, 82, 443, 8080, 8090 See this site for some further info on HTTP ports: http://www.grc.com/port_80.htm
  13. Does it use Port 80, and is that Port forwarded or enabled in any firewall or router? I cant telnet to it or ping it. Do you want to delete the IP so we can keep it private? (this gets indexed on google also)
  14. Either enable the IP as a Trusted Site, or set all disabled check boxes to prompt, under ActiveX in the Security Settings. By default the ActiveX is not installing. Rory

  16. There are some demuliplexers out there that work with certain muxes, namely the big brands. I havent looked at software ways in any detail but that is possible also. http://www.clearview-cctv.co.uk/products/clearview/forensic_demux.php also, i take it you've seen this software? http://www.cognitech.com/
  17. like Thomas said, small loss. Though nothing noticable. Course all depends on how much loss there is already coming from the camera.

STATIC IP ADDRESS-HOW DO I GET ONE

i use DynDns.org as it also works inside routers, so no additional software required on the PC ... you can just add port :81 after the DDNS name .. Rory
