YEah, im going by Windows System tab only, sais it is a Duron Mobile 1.2 Ghz. I can tell the board is not new either, seeing as the drivers go up to NT and ME ... I downloaded the latest XP drivers for it from PCCHips web site, and also a newer bios. Ill try the flash and see if that makes a diff, maybe the CPU is a 2.2 but the Bios is so old it only recognizes it as 1.2?? Even though the box it came in sais its a Motherboard with Onboard CPU, but no other details. Maybe the Manu messed up .. The only settings for the CPU are in the Bios, and its only for OverClocking .. It doesnt feel as slow as a 1.2 to be honest, but the Mobile CPUs are normally faster, but then again, why does it look the size of a Regular CPU ...? Anyway, I got to switch back over to that PC, the KVM switch doesnt work too good with a USB mouse and KB ... so ill check back later, and let you know what happens after I flash it .. Thanks Rory PS. I was going to take this back to the store and cuss the heck out of them, boi my mums had to calm me down on the cell .. When they do it to someone else Its bad enough, but to my parents ... and then they cant seem to hire people at these PC stores that know the first things about computer hardware ... Arghhh ...

Thats a loaded question .. Ganz has some good cameras, at least their more expensive ones. There are a ton of others also, GE, Bosch, Sanyo, Sansung Techwin, Pelco, Panasonic, and then there are hundreds of smaller OEM brands .. and then thousands of really budget OEMs. basically there is no company that brands a camera for every single application or price.

Yeah, if you want a decent RTOS and got time to play, check out the Nucleus RTOS . (same one GE/Kalatel uses - and tHey use the Power PC boards) http://www.acceleratedtechnology.com/embedded/nucleus.html There's always windows XP embedded ... but its not RTOS ..

wireless keyboard that has a joytick, my client has a few of them with her plasmas ... so basically all the Client Software needs is support for mouse control for the PTZ, which is quite simple. -

Geez, sounds like "Every Restaurant" and "Every Grocery Store" Nassau Bahamas // those huge rats would cause the majority of false alarms at both major food store chains i used to service here ... ****roaches were a joke compared to the rats .. i used to acid wash my hands everytime i left the locations ..

Most of the larger brand names will allow that using SCSI, or other methods.
-
With Stand alones it depends on the brand. GE for example is a PITA to do and most people end up just having the GE Factory do it. But it is still one of the best Stand Alone DVRs. The budget ones generally will be easy to switch. As for PC based. . there are many cards. You will get a pretty good idea from Browsing the PC Card forum.

Comcast and Analog camera question.

Are you using a Low Pass Filter? -
was just looking through that Controller manual. Anyway, generally you cant controll other Manufacturer's domes without using that manufcacturer's Controller, or using a converter. Only way it may work is to use a GE Probridge, but then you still need to be able to change the protocol somewhere, which it doesnt appear you can do so with that Controller. You probably would be able to control it if connected direct to the DVR uising a Probridge though, then setting up the Kalatel protocol for a certain com port in the DVR, giving you control using the DVR's PTZ software.
-
Not sure, best bet would be to contact GE or AD .. You need something to change the protocol though. Rory
-
I dont know the DVR but ill see if I can find a manual online ... it should have a setup for the PTZ though and show a selection of common protocols .. is it one of these? http://www.americandynamics.net/products/intellex_DVMS.aspx
-
In the DVR did you select the Kalatel Protocol?
