they got alot of 1/2" 800TVL cameras out now (which is what the Covi is) ..the Koreans are making them and then there is also Sony. They are not even that expensive, the camera alone, once you can build your own housing. They also have 800TVL Block Cameras, add a motor to it and put it in a dome, you got yourself a High Res PTZ .. shorter range though as they are typically only 12X and 1/2". So if you have a huge job it could warrant purchasing from the Manufacturers like that.

the initial size will depend on the recorded file size. - eg. 320x240 - 640x480 or 720x480

help configuring ltc0495 for catching licence plate
rory replied to lemike's topic in Security Cameras
Nope, need soemthing short not long .. the 60 degrees isnt wide enough and too far a distance ... may end up with just 2 EX82s in the end and scrap the 3mm wide angle single camera ... going to wait until the client gets back from Europe then go over the image shots with them and Extreme ... current cameras are already there, and Extreme IR, just need to make it better on at least 1 of them. -

help configuring ltc0495 for catching licence plate

60 degree 840 but its way to powerful, I doubt the 940 would cut it down any, ill probably end up with 2 UF100 60 degrees at 840 nm perhaps with 2 940nm filters as a back up ... see there are white walls at around 80' plus the main culprit, a small white concrete roundabout with a white statue in the center of it .. the 60 only covers maybe 1/3 of the camera shot also .. -
JMan would have more experience in this area, we got 2 casinos down here but they dont hire any locals to do the work there .. so really I cant say, I cant even go in the casino here .. play a game and its prison and a fine.. But I would look at GE, Pelco, Ultrack, and Ganz. AD seems to have some interesting MAtrix systems now also.

Extreme has 5 year also on some products

If its an indoor dome, which it should be since you are mounting it inside, then just use Toggle Bolts: This is the toggle spring wing which the bolt goes into, and this that grasps onto the drop tile inside the ceiling. If its something really heavy then you could use a piece of wood, or even carboard, to hold it better, but the drop tile is only so strong anyway, so I wouldnt worry to much about that. Mount it on the wall (concrete or wood) if you really want it to be secure.
-
Normally you can just spin the camera to adjust it, by loosening a small lever on the mount, which tightens the camera inside the mount.

FAT32 vs NTFS for Geovision Data drive
rory replied to Rene's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Its suggested to put Windows(OS) as Fat32 and Data(Video) as NTFS. -
Thanks. Nope, these are all things that are available in Standard Geo Installations. Just have to figure out the hidden features and how to manipulate them. (I'm waiting for the 8.0 SDK actually so I can do more) Rory

Can anyone help me with an Anykeeper/Koditec AVI problem?
rory replied to MattVidionics's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
You can use Camtasia and do Screen Capture, but save it as an Avi movie .. works well I do it all the time with the GE Dvrs. Rory -
This is one im going to be testing out as its dirt cheap. Notice the seperate windows for the IR leds. Sunkwang makes an identical unit but i dont think this it as this is so cheap, but it may still be and they just ordered alot of them. I know it wont be like my sanyo or other Korean Domes Ive used but the clientel are dirt cheap also .. COLOR HIGH RES. AUTO IRIS, IR DOME CAMERA - 1/3" Sony HQ1 Super HAD CCD - Day and night dome - Resolution 540 lines - Min. illumination 0.5 lux - 0 lux with IR on - Auto white balance - 22 IR LED's - 4-9mm Vari-focal Auto iris lens - Power 12 VDC/120mA
-
Also if its Domes you would want to get alot of spare Dome Covers ... they scratch easy and then bang goes the image quality. Dont forget Spare Power Supplies as well.
-
Depends on who the manufacturer is.
-
barely, im stuck on some code and trying to come up with some ideas to fix it ... i just fell asleep in front of the PC so i think ill call it a night ..
-
it will have to be a seperate port.

Car Vandalism- See Pictures of house for suggestions
rory replied to surf1div1's topic in Security Cameras
What you could do is try a BW Exview or Day Night Exview Camera. If it is still too dark, then would need to add IR or Lighting. If IR i would say a UF100 would definatelty do it and pick up the person once zoomed in on the van and with some IR adjustments. Though I would double check with Extreme first. Plus, they arent cheap, they require a proprietory power supply. Rory -
