Car Vandalism- See Pictures of house for suggestions
rory replied to surf1div1's topic in Security Cameras
Gotta remember he was using a high lux camera for that shot ... but yes the more you zoom in, less light will be let through the lens to the camera. Definately something like an Exview and f:1.0 or lower lens will help. Also setting the view to get some of the light in from the building will also help as it uses all available light and spreads that over the image. Id like to know which vehicle he is aiming for, makes a huge difference. Yes thats PSP. -

some image editing ... basically a BW cam should do okay there, will see much more than we are seeing in the regular camera image, and also an Exview will see much better ... basically the truck area will probably be very good with a BW camera, the black vehicle area is very dark, at least using the supplied image ... Original Image. Negative Image - dark denotes Light source. Other shots - Histograms -
120fps is the TOTAL framerate in live and record. So yes that is 120fps divided between each camera 4 cameras would be real time for each camera. With 8 cameras and Smart Motion detection recording you can get real time or near real time recording also. Rory

depends on the system, get the name, is it a Focus?? [None of this is considered professional but it will work] Anyway, Ive done that before, where they used a regular TV and the monitors were bad/missing.. yeah got suckered, anyway They may have audio as well, either way, check the model, I will base this off the ones i did ( cant remember if they were focus or what) Cameras maybe 15VDC, if so then pick up a 12-18VDC power plug adaptor from any electronic store, switch it to the required voltage for the camera (you need to give us the model to find this out) Find out the total MA used for each camera, if its only 4 cameras and for example they use 250ma each, then using the 1A 12-18VDC power supply, will power them all. Okay next the cameras. They need positive, and ground, output from them should be video and ground - and perhaps audio. Now i cant remember as its been a few years, but you can take the ground to the video and power, if there are seperate ones, and just tie them together. It will goto the ground on the main 12-18VDC power plug. You could even use a screw the system's monitor if they still have it, for ground for the cameras video side. Use the Alarm screw (this is on the focus system). Video maybe yellow. If not it could be green. Thing is to find out what wires there are coming from the cameras, or like i mentioned before, find out the name. If video is yellow, then audio is the other wire. Normally power will be red, but ofcourse it can differ. let me know what name brand and model it is then can go further. Rory

hey Both cameras can be 12VDC or 24VAC actually .. such as in the Extreme CCTV example .. we're just looking for a cheap alternative to the EX82 even if it doesnt have IR . like 1 color bullet and 1 BW Exview bullet, perhaps in a small housing ... Guys, what about a switcher that recieves an alarm input, which the alarm input could come from a photocell, or timer .. are there photocells that that have 2 outputs, one for when it is off, and one when it is on ..? Anyway .. back to the original post .. any more questions ..? -

id like to know how ... could be something to market down here .. -
30x40 you dont need either of the UFs, they require additional power supplies. You would want to look at the EX26LED which uses 24VAC and covers out to 60' with a 30 degree beam and 20-40% less with a 60 degree beam. What type of lens are you using and setting, to get an idea.

[moved] - kinda dumb question... sub-$100 cameras?
rory replied to oderus1671's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Yep stay away from Sharp, you can still get a really inexpensive CCD Color 0.5 lux Bullet Camera for the price you want to pay .. see the image in the other post i linked to. They will all be 1/4" CCD though, would have to double or triple the price for a 1/3" CCD. -
i can put them up for you if you like, PM me for my email. Rory

help configuring ltc0495 for catching licence plate
rory replied to lemike's topic in Security Cameras
Okay .. now you know us on this side dont know what a metre is .. Ill try and do a search on google .. Actually Ive used the UF500's and UF100's, under the Extreme CCTV name, I wonder why Extreme never mentioned the UF300 to me before .. im going to ask cause I could use something for a replacement for a UF500 as its too powerful for the location, and the UF100 is not quite powerful enough ..will check it out ... Well even with the Reg cameras the plates have to be reflective. The Dim light, still gets the plate. Rememeber its zoomed in so less light gets through the lens, as opposed to if it was a wider angle. I take it that 50 metres is quite far, as if close up the power of a UF bulb would be too much for licence plates, I use the UF500 on a driveway at 12mm and it is great but too much light on the plates at that distance - would be different i imagine if zoomed in to the full 50mm of the lens. Anyway, looks to me that it worked .. congrats Rory -

750GB in a 13cam 640x480 GV1480 app i have ...9 days recording ...
-
Smart Motion Detection ... works well on the slower cards. if you have a 480fps card and 16 cameras but only 1 or 2 are picking up motion at a time and you are recording on Motion Event, then that was a waste of dollars
-
Yeah well you get what you pay for with DVR cards, or moreso the software. Eclipse is cheap to and Ive used them, and I wouldnt again, simply I would use the slower Geo card first.
