actually we shouldnt be recommending any distributors in the public forums, just the dealer section, since they only sell to dealers.. . i mean there's no rule on it and its okay in my book, but didnt think you guys want to give out your source to end users ..?

Ive got no idea, no need for anything beyond a couple hundred feet down here in the islands .. There's obviously a place for both of them, and they can work hand in hand .. i was just trying to figure out what magee was using them for as most apps dont need them .. government i guess like he already said .
  12. yeah, but then finding a case for it ... would be nice though ..i prefer smaller cases..

    Geovision + NVIDIA VGA

yeap ... (i gotta put a paypal donate ting on my home page quickly . ) hey if you still want to try the pal thing out, let me know ..
  14. I only see the point of it for burglary conditions such as alarms, otherwise the owner or manager will need to be continuosly be monitoring the cash register and store for shoplifting and in house theft - which by the way is out of control down here, i got some strories. Shop owners down here would laugh at me if I said i want to charge them to log onto their store twice a day ... its like putting iron bars on a window but leaving the front door open
  15. ok well things like this are really DIY stuff, toys to us pros, but here is a link to some stuff .. http://www.cnszlyd.com/showcase.asp?lx=26&gb=english

    Geovision + NVIDIA VGA

exactly .. wait until they ask. Or give them my Skin program to make them think they upgraded ..
  17. Yeah the Wintergreens arent in the same league, they are the rock bottom ones, I would only use them for something like the GV250 .. and then I would still add a Saphire Radean Video card. No OS so you have to load your own. The Systemax you can get with Intel boards in the Customize and Business section, but what i did is use their Customize and Home section, then bought a Micro ATX Intel board, and just swapped it out, so I had a nice small case, been running 7 months now with no failures. So basically a decent starter PC for a DVR, with a celeron CPU and intel chipset, 120GB HDD, 128 Saphire Video Card, 512 DDR. the GV250s can get away with the Wintergreens though easily. Im running the GV250 in my Refurbished 3 year old 2Ghz HP with a Via Chipset. It cost my colleague hardly anything from Tiger and then he gave it to me when he upgraded ..
  18. I'll take 100 of them since they are also in the $20/mo range too right? Thats the ticket, they can't afford an actual gaurd, and probably don't need one anyway. If regular alarm monitoring in the US ~$30/mo is acceptable doing both for $35 you'll clean house. Are they just hoping that at those 2 hour marks someone is going to rob the place or tief from the cash register?

    Determining lens focal lengths

the GE Exview is 0.2 lux color, 0.01lux BW ..or less, give or take, thats the highest points. If you were looking at an OEM specs, then it would be the face plate lux specs, 0.02 color, 0.001 BW. Normally the specs are based on f:1.2 lenses, so if you use lower f: stop on some cameras such as the GE, or other Exviews, it makes a huge difference.

  21. mfennels seems alot more like it ...
  22. I think alarm systems are more useful for homes than retail anyway, i see it as a line of defence, at least when you are home. It will let you know someone is coming, its helped me plenty of times. I couldnt live where i live, without some yard beams and 3 loud sirens ... Another thing, if it is monitored, or self monitored with a dialer, then you get an alert and can deal with the situation, if you have video, even better. There's definately a need for Alarm Systems, thing is I left doing just alarm systems for the same reason you posted, here in the Bahamas you're lucky if the cops turn up at all. But then again, if the clients are buying cheap video systems, once again they will be lucky to catch the perps anyway.

    Determining lens focal lengths

Ofcourse a low lux camera will handle it better also, such as one with an Exview CCD. I cant speak on the Pano, but I dont quote it for low light day night apps.
