Any Camera with a decent Exview CCD, eg. GE KTC-2000DN http://www.gesecurity.com/portal/site/GESecurity/menuitem.f76d98ccce4cabed5efa421766030730?selectedID=7646&seriesyn=true&t=prod&leafNode= True Color mode and BW modes ... plus its ExView. There are other brands using Exview though. Even bosch PTZs have Exview now in some of their Day Nights. It blew the low light level of the Sanyo VCC-4594 Day Night camera away by far, which was already impressive. I have also had a couple Kalatel Exview Color cameras up for 5 years where when the car park lights are off and there is just a tiny bit of street lighting coming into the very top corner of the image, it enhances the entire car park so can see in color, but in person, cant see anything at all. And ofcourse Exview BW is the best for ultimate low light applications, without added IR. Though the decent Exview CCDs cost much more, and you do have to deal with the noise as it componsates for the low level of lightingm, otherwise it would just be another SuperHAD.

Id like to see an image comparison side by side with Exview .. Not a True Day Night camera though . The SDN-520N is the real Day Night camera in that line ..

Lots or Problems with Kodicom KMC-4400, almost there!
rory replied to afeudale's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
It is common with most DVR cards ... dobt blame Kodicom .. -
theres an even closer up car bomb one, but i wont post here as it is in bad taste, the soldiers clearly die in it. Saw it on metacafe last night.

no its seperate, but if you slow the PC down streaming you could interupt the recording a little.

outside, you will get "alot" of background noise so it isnt suggested, but you could use a weatherproof box and caulk a mic into that somehow ..

may i ask why ..? Just curious as they have no info on the software used, particularly a screen shot .. From the specs it sounds alot like Geo though .. embedded IO and Embedded PTZ panels give it away .. actually all the below specs are Geo. Mpeg 4 / Wavelet Compression Technology Alarm to E-mail (Jpeg or Text Message) Embedded I/O Devices Control Embedded PTZ Control Panel Built-in Web Server Digital Watermark Authentication Multi-level Passwords Protection Screen Pop-up on Motion or Alarm Activation Supports Dynamic IP Addresses Video Lost Detection Video Auto Gain Controller & Backlight Compensation Object Counting & System Log Manages Multiple Servers in a Web Cam Point of Sale (POS) Integration Unattended and Missing Object Search & Detection Alarm on Objects Passing Between Predefined Regions Object Tracking and Zooming Image Size Indicator Synchronized Video and Audio Exports Video Footage Within a Specified Time Range Vital Sign Monitor (VSM & SMS Alerts) Motion Detection Recording Round-the-clock and Scheduled Recording Day-Night Recording Mode Pre-alarm and Post-alarm Recording Pre-motion and Post-motion Recording -
so that would mean though, if you are using its multi view, then the smaller ones will be less than 720x480, more like 200x ...? Also, how do you control the views if using a DVR (IO's?)... i was looking but just didnt see anything about that ..

My question will be how is it going to work properly with anything other than their own DVR/IP system .... since DVR resolutions are still tops 720x480 ..

i never had one problem with ME, its more than twice as fast as XP and even faster than 98 was ... ofcourse has to do with all the darn graphics and all the added services XP has ... i waited till SP2 to upgrade to XP and only cause i had to .. at least you can turn off all the unneeded XP services .. you could tweak ME to even faster while 98 was more difficult and crashed alot. Integrating Internet Explorer 4.0 and Active Desktop crap is what killed the windows OS, before that it was fast .. dont want to even think about how slow Windows Vista will be, MS must be making a fortune off their hardware shares 95 was the fastest GUI version yet .. blue screen every so often .. so look what we have to deal with these days, a virus or trojan every so often cause XP is so unsecure by default, the most unsecure OS to date, unless you tweak it.

format .. Load Windows ME and you'll be like you're flying a space rocket .. Load Windows 95 and you wouldnt be able to keep up with the mouse ..
-
rememeber we used to do all the same stuff on 600Mhz PCs
