Is resolution a feature of the camera or the DVR?
rory replied to RichTJ99's topic in Security Cameras
It wont make much of a difference if the Camera is a 350TVL one anyway ... now since there have been 100,000 posts today, please remind me which one it is? It will make more of a difference on playback if anything. Why dont you load VNC on there and let one of us take a look at the settings to make sure its all good .. Rory -
How do you force a specific Frame rate with a Geovision Card
rory replied to RichTJ99's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
What are the Geo Settings? - Source, Camera, etc .. Is only the 1 camera enabled? If the hard drive is bad you will get that as it records (in monitoring mode). Also, anything else running on the DVR Server PC? -
the sunshield basically works a little bit to stop overhead sun from hitting the lens, otherwise if the sun is low like in winter and the camera is pointed in that direction it makes no diference, and only makes a little difference the rest of the year. Its nice to have for cosmetic reasons though.

the Speco has a Mechanical IR cut Filter, true Day Night switch to BW mode. this isnt them, but shows you what a camera with an IR cut Filter on in the daytime looks like:
-
you can but you shouldnt ... probably laws against that in the US (?) and if you do make sure the plug is enough amps to push the 2 cameras, eg. 1A.
-
the other one you listed before it, just no Voltage Regulation for brownouts, spikes, etc. Means you stand a bigger chance of loosing the hard drive, but if you have decent power in your area and can get a hold of HDDs easy enough, then no worries .. here its a different ball game all together ...

man im freezing its like 60 tonight /// in the 50's later // thats cold for us ..
-
just a trend since none of them make IP cameras really .. Axis and Acti are the big players in IP cameras or servers .. dedicated as in DM?? There is a future with it, well its here now, but i imagine it will be integrated with analogue ..
-
yes that has voltage regulation and more then enough VA ..
-
to answer the last question, no. And who are the "big" companies, there arent many IP camera manufacturers.
-
yeah i heard that line before Those cameras come ready built from the manufacturer, i just wouldnt deal with people that lie like that ... say "we make cameras" etc ...
-
check the date guys ...
-
nope, but i see they have the same domes Provideo does, also looks like they have a mix of taiwan and korean products. (OEM)

Need help ( how to setting remote access of argus card )
rory replied to handerliterlim's topic in Computers/Networking
Hi, Have you read this yet? http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=3287 If so and still having issues, check to make sure the windows firewall is either turned off or the ports and programs are enabled in it, and in any other installed firewall, including Norton System Works. Rory -
Its a waste of money if you are on the US side, best to go with a GE StoreSafe if you are looking to spend a couple dollars on a decent stand alone.
-
Yeah, that one has no Voltage Regulation or Line Conditioning, just simple surge protection which is useless.
-
Actually the threads dont match throughout brands, like Eclipse Bullet camera mounts dont fit in Provideo Bullets, while some do, there are all different sizes of bullet cameras and mounts for them. The one in the image you can probably use a mount from another brand like Mace for example as it looks identical, probably any chinese bullet for that matter .. doesnt mean it wont be hard to find though, a Camera mount is typically much bigger for box cameras than for bullets.
-
and learned some other things in the mean time hey But i guess you'd rather not have had to go through all that (know i wouldnt have) Anyways ... what version was it before ..?
-
No, that Card is fine, just make sure all the ATI Drivers are installed, and also DirectX 9.0. Though i havent had a problem with a Client PC before. The client software should install any Codecs that the Client PC doesnt have.
-
Doesnt it have a mount already? all bullet cameras do ... If not, its going to be tough finding a threaded mount to fit those .. or you can buy a regular camera housing with mount and stick in that somehow. arghh, just checked, its a Chinese OEM bullet .. looks like a COP-USA camera .. Rory

help required evaluating Axis 221 day/night camera at night
rory replied to jwexqm's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
no problem, dont expect much from that camera, its a cheap one, Sony makes so many different grades of CCDs from low to high end. I rate those type of cameras as more of a DIY camera. Especailly as its a bullet camera, the ones i was talking about were Box cameras, which are much better than bullets for quality and performance, and yep, they cost 4 times as much. -
what type of camera is it?

2 Video Signals over 1 Feed
rory replied to securitymonster's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
The one pictured have limitations though. -
Sounds like a job for Netpromax tech support, were you able to get a response from them as yet? Just a FYI they use the same cards as Video insight. Is it just not showing video on one PC or a few, could be a Video Card issue (DirectX or Codec not installed properly)? Also, what about firewalls on the Client PCs ..?
